Pound for pound, I think Duke’s best team was 1998-1999 team. I know they didn’t win it all, but they were the best team I’ve seen of Coach K’s, still to this day. ‘92 Duke should’ve lost to an overachieving Kentucky team in the Elite 8 that year.
This UNC team really wasn't very good. Lost 7 of their last 12 games, got blown out several times including twice during that span by this same Duke squad, lost to several non-NCAA tournament teams, etc. This was one of those games where the adrenaline from the rivalry aspect carried the day because truthfully they had no business beating this all-time great Duke team.
You are CLUELESS. They pounded Duke a couple weeks later in the ACC trouny. And barely lost to Kansas in the final four. Really wasn't very good??????😆🤣😂🤣
@@josephdunn3757 Wrong year. You're referencing 1991; this was 1992. '92 UNC lost by 20 to Duke in the ACC Title Game. And they lost in the Sweet 16 to Ohio State.
@@corybowen6870 Yes you are right. I am referring to 91. Which we did pound Duke by 22 the last game of the season. Then we barely lost to Kansas in the final four. Which I really didn't care cause I thought UNLV would just pound us but once they lost to Duke. It was an opportunity lost!
These were great battles, and can't miss tv back then.
The Duke @ UNC game in 1992 wasn't aired by ESPN in ACC markets I had the Raycom-JP broadcast
I was THERE!!! Dook walked into the Dean Dome undefeated! Dook walked out with its first loss of the season! It was a fantastic Senior Night!!!
15:17 the uva-vt score is 46-42 in OVERTIME?!?!
Vitale was obsessed with that Joey Beard dude
90s basketball the best
29:10 is the Montross cut...
Really impressed with the UNC fans in this game. Guess once Duke won a natty the Carolina fans began hating Duke, like, for real.
Nah, we hated dook a long time before this.
Didn't Hurley broke his foot in the game but kept playing.
Yes it was
Back when they could put up a fight. Smith knew how to prepare his teams.
DUKE ALWAYS HAD A TOP NOTCH PG RUNNING THE SHOW!
Classic battle
25 years later in (1992).
Thanks for sharing these games. Do you have the UNC Wake Forest game from 1992? I know UNC came from 22 down to win it.
The 1991-1992 Duke Blue Devils was Mike Krzyzewski's best team better than the 1990-1991 team.

@@g-centergaming5803 Really! Cincinnati had the best team 98 & 99!

Go Heels
Might be the lamest court rush ever after beating one of the best teams of all time.
We're used to winning.
This is the type of crap we had to listen to from Dick Vitale
