  • If you have a transit at Hong Kong International airport you’ve landed in the right place. Airport transfer can be confusing especially at Hong Kong international airport. Making sure you reach your connection flight, knowing what tax-free shops there are, how to find you gates and more will be covered in this video. You’ll definitely be prepared for your next international departure is this.
    👉 Depending on the airport you're landing into, have you considered Fast Track services through immigration? I've used them before, especially at busy airports, and it's so convenient.
    See if your arrival airport had this service here: viator.tp.st/v...
    👉 One thing I’ve started doing is pre-booking my airport transfer! It makes such a difference, and it's a lot cheaper than you would expect.
    I usually find great prices on GetYourGuide: getyourguide.t...
    👉 Did you know a lot of airports actually allow you to purchase airport lounge passes? It’s such a nice way to start your trip or if you have a long layover.
    I usually check/pre-book lounge passes here if available: getyourguide.t...

    Thank you for the video. I feel like you skipped the most important part I wanted to know...What would I do at the transfer desk? What would the transfer desk look like? Would I need to pick up my checked-in baggage?

      If you are travelling on the same ticket, you dont need to pick up bags, if you have a onward boarding pass, you dont need to go to transit desk, but if you dont, tell them to check you in

      you should ask for assistance and present them your next journey ticket at the first flight to be check in. The arrivals handle staffs should bring you to the transfer gates. Don't shy to ask for assistance.

      If you have long waiting hours, go to immigration 1st, do not go through security checks, if you plane to explore. Once in inside after security checks, very difficult to leave and prepare yourself to wait for after 7am for assistance only at information desk, the staff walking around and security people are not helpful and are rude!

    I was here May 2024, signs are crap, and there is no one to help tourists. They are all rude and got a damn attitude. Becareful once u enter u can't go out to explore, very strict after.

    • @Steve-v6u

      If you didn't got enough all leg broading passes at your original departure, you must enter immigration. There is no way to transit. Anywhere around the world would be operated like this. Have you tried any airport like Manila or Indonesia? God damn security checks, Hong Kong is very loose already.

    • @Unknown-e5f
      @Unknown-e5f 4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks, it was joining flights. Straight from plane to transfers, then security check, once on the upper level. You are forced to stay there and not leave. Signs for luggage storage.....not one?, signs for baggage collection not one?Information desk assistance, poor and cannot direct. Trying to find airline assistance. Not a single sign to direct you. All you see is the numbers and the bording flights. Once you get to the restaurants, only then is there a level to go down but, you cannot go down because the security check was already done upon arrivals. So maybe I'm missing something but in order to get assistance, it requires your own exploring. Entering Australia airport, very very simple. But I'm heading to Hong Kong again in Sep, will re-evaluate but known what to do in advance now.

    • @Steve-v6u
      @Steve-v6u 4 місяці тому

      @@Unknown-e5f You are forced to stay inside security check area because the tickets are joining in SINGLE reservation from the airlines. The authorities know you take flights to hong Kong as a kind of international civil aviation practices, but technically you didn't entry Hong Kong.
      For example, you go Zurich by Swissair from Melbourne and transit via Hong Kong or Singapore, when you check in at Melbourne no matter you have one or two broading passes issued from Qantas or Cathay Pacific, there crew should have tell you cannot leave the security check zones in Hong Kong if they were asked. And you cannot claim all your check in baggage until reach destination.

    • @Steve-v6u
      @Steve-v6u 4 місяці тому

      @@Unknown-e5f If you buy separate plane tickets from different airlines, or you book flights of multi-city selection, You will have to entry Hong Kong, get all your luggages and check in again.
      Pretty straightforward.
