I flew on Cathay a few times, I will say, it's one of the best airlines I've traveled on . The flight attendance is the best I've seen yet. Very courteous people.
Nowadays, no more acrobatic landings and special pilots certification for this from old Kai Tak Airport that closed in 1998 after decades of activity activity transfered then to newly built Chek Lap Kok Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) on Lantau Island, which offers more extensive runways, 24-hour operation, and modern facilities.
Goodness! This has got to be one of the most spectacular approaches into Hong Kong I have seen! The mix of green mountains, bridges, buildings and crystal blue waters are just gorgeous!
Thank you for a beautiful video. It brings back so many memories of my last visit to HK. A double decked bus we were on broke down on the highway shown at 5:28 near the bottom of the screen and my family and I waited quite a while for the rescue-bus to come.
Nice to meet you. You went to Hong Kong Airport by Cathay Pacific's Airbus A350-900. This is August 1st at 4:35 am Japan time. I'll subscribe to your channel. Thank you for your continued support.
I was lucky (or am old) enough to experience a real Kai Tak landing!! Well, lucky for the experience, at the time it was bloody terrifying 😃! Love Hong Kong.
My auntie used to be a big figure within Marlboro cigarettes business in Asia, and was based with my uncle and cousins in Hong Kong. One day she walked us down to a private jetty on the island and there was a fully fledged yacht, waiting to take us around the entire island whilst flying the Marlboro flag. It was an experience I’ll never forget! That time we stayed at the Excelsior on the island the first time and the Marco Polo in Tsim Sha Tsui
The video remind me when I landed at Kai Tak Airport that time on Singapore Airline Boeing 747 many years ago. It was a scary moment whem I looked frm the window the wing tip almost touched the building on both side of the plane. The plane had to ajort the 1st landing and shoot up fir the 2nd attempt which was successful. Thanks for the video good job.
Construction will not end until the new T2 is complete, and the second runway (still closed) is reconfigured and brought back up. Even when all that is complete, T1 will probably get updates due to being 30+ years old. Just several years after the airport opened in 1998, expansions were already beginning. Hong Kong doesn't really stop building...it's too densely populated to stay still; things wear down and age very quickly with such heavy use, and the tropical climate doesn't help.
This has to be one of the best landings. It is as if the aircraft never left the ground. Cathay Pacific at this time is one of the world's finest airlines. Sri Lankan airlines is also known for excellent service and landings.✈✨🏅
@@troll231 Have you flown the airline? If you have not flown do not judge. Unless you have some special powers that you know before you try something.😇🤭
Oh Dear! I couldn't find any words to decribe what you let me see. Thanks for YT algorytm I'm here to enjoy. I'm also very thankful that in my life I was able to fly. This was so unbelievable picturesque and great work from the pilot I could feel in my chest and tummy what the approaching causes. Thank you again. I must to go there to this gorgeous city. Thank You!!!!
@@bobgriffith1810 👍 An experience I am glad I had. Spoke to an older air steward years after. Asked if he had ever flown into Kai Tak. Indicated he had and we just smiled at each other.
Yes one time i travel cathipasfic airline from hong kong to australia perth airport this is very good airline clean and need cabin crew is very friendly i like
Amazing high resolution camera! Hong Kong is a nice example of the global problem of people creating congested urban area, conurbations, because they can earn paper money. Village life was killed by robots.
did anyone tried to look at the windows to see landmarks? Whenever the plane circles around, I always tried to spot my old home, school, and expressways😁
Good aerial panoramic view,, BUT nothing can b perfect without orientation direction demonstration-----which requires deliberated geographic knowledge to describe ,,, anyhow,, still quite of impressive bird's eye view video,,,
Cathay Pacific pilots have been complained by many airports that their taxiing speed on the runway is too slow, which affect airport operations. Cathay then warned all the pilots, so the speed is much faster now.😂

hongkong is actually scenically beautiful on a clear day

First comment, greetings from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Beautiful city. Amazing shots of the city I love.
Been on this aircraft, smooth as silk. Thanks for sharing.
nothing beats the feeling of landing back at home again
Well done👏
What a beautiful approach. I need to get to Hong Kong!!!

Love the clouds, the quality and the great camerawork! Great video
Thanks for watching
It really DOESN'T get much better than Cathay Pacific and I can't wait to fly with them again! 🙂
Amazing pilot with smooth and fine landing

the plane landed itself

What an awesomely memorable reunion landing in Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific, looking forward to the next arrival in not so a distant future.

Wow, that's a rare occurrence! Hope you have a nicer transportation experience next time.
Very good landing so smooth, not even a wing wobble. Good picture of Hong Kong under the best weather.
Thank you for memories video.
Glad you enjoyed it
I love flying into this beauty of a city so much!
clouds/mountains look some kind of Paradise on earth.
Absolutely stunning views, vising Hong Kong this Christmas!

Landing so smooth, not even a wing wobble👍
amazing since most pilots know the airport has a wind shear problem the designers overlooked.
What a beautiful landing. Hong Kong looks so pretty from top. A beautiful video capture. Thanks for sharing. Subscribed for more videos....
Beautiful landing video! I've shared it on my Facebook page and UA-cam updates😊

Same. First time I landed in Kai Tak in 1992 it was like a flying between apartment building's. Surreal and scary.
Great city.
Salt water wells in my eyes. What a beautiful video of landing in Hong Kong. This reminds of 2019 but I had no window seat😊😂❤
Amazing pilot with smooth and fine landing! Big thanks for the video, mate! :)
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, can I ask which camera you used and what seat number to get this view?
iPhone 14 pro max , 68k if I’m not forgetting

Great video. I remember the old airport where aircrafts were nearly touching skyscrapers…..👍✅

When did that third runway become operational? And when will construction finally stop?

Much more straightforward than Kai Tak at night with people in their living rooms watching TV as you flew past. 👍😉
Yes, I spotted Kojacks face on the tube during the right turn on final..lol

Beautiful Video.....
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent Video 🙏🙏🙏

Where have you been before which starting
Having flown Cathay business class first time way back in 1998, I don't regret the experience ever..

i think this video shot on smartphone and using a stabilizer
I thought I was watching a Shinkai Makoto style anime starting from 1:20. This is amazing.
.....................What are the two pods under the wing
Those are the cheap seats.
10:07 welcome to Hong Kong 🤧
Landing at the old Kai tak airport many years ago was realy scary
sha tin racetrack is quite nice from above!
Why do the plane have to go one round across Hk ?
To land into the wind.
Hong Kong is a magical place.
Its insane how many skyscrapers there are in Hong Kong and think about how much effort it takes to build one...
Hong Kong is a state or city?
A city
Hong Kong SAR China
Très bien filmé, bravo.
I like the music of Cathay Pacific airlines when they land on runway
It's different when my family and I are going to hong Kong when we land it was cloudy and raining heavily and the turbulence was wild
in 1997 we landed at the old hong kong airport. It was hairy, we could see clothes drying on lines as we made our final approach
CX????
should have had a front view of landing......i landed there in 1965, but it was the old airport
did anyone tried to look at the windows to see landmarks? Whenever the plane circles around, I always tried to spot my old home, school, and expressways😁
Wow...
lol i have an immediate love for this place lol.

Nope
Flight CX738 Dubai to HK
Pretty as hell ..
best view....
The exit speed is so fast, the pilot so in hurry 🤣
Minimum runway occupancy time at Hong Kong. Also the A350 has Brake-to-Vacate so it would heva been calculated by the on board computers
Cathay Pacific pilots have been complained by many airports that their taxiing speed on the runway is too slow, which affect airport operations. Cathay then warned all the pilots, so the speed is much faster now.😂
This video shows it really well how developed the Chinese infrastructure is
It has nothing to do with Chinese communist authority. Those infrastructures are built by British Hong Kong ourselves.
It’s not built by the lousy colonial British but by the greatest engineering China
Cool! Thanks to share
