- Bad connection is the one thing all IRL streams fear. Even the best hardware solutions that include bonding (like LiveU Solo) may not always stay online. That is where solutions like this come into play.
Loopy's SRT Stats Monitor is essentially an automated OBS scene-switcher, that reacts to your current network conditions. If your stream drops, it quickly switches. It's FREE, unlike almost all other solutions, and it works with the SRT protocol. There's also a legacy, RTMP solution available!
In order to use this setup, you need to stream to a middleman PC, here often referred to as "Stream PC". You can find more info on that setup in my other IRL Stream Setup videos. Most high budget solutions have some sort of paid service attached, that provides the same feature, but often limited in options and quality.

EDIT (2022): If you're having issues setting this up (e.g. Error #6/10), install websocket 4.9.1, install obs-websocket-js with the install.cmd within "Documents\Loopy SRT Monitor" (using option 2!), and make sure you have the line: "WebSocketConnection=obs-websocket-js" within your config.ini folder.

Having just set most of this up myself surely gopro settings are the next topic!! Do you use obs remote to start, stop and switch scenes manually?? you could potentially touch on setting up the obs remote to turn stream on and off and switch scenes manually (i know its easy but worth mentioning). Discord community is amazing and cheers for these vids they are literal lifesavers!!!

@@luchiplayerone the setup as a whole has worked perfectly for me once I ironed out a few problems, havent fully tested the loopy scene switcher yet though only set it up and tested it works.

Am happy to be here, I use to livestream and when i heard about SRT, i was so happy. i need so more to learn about this and how it can improve me work.
i Stream Using Vmix then send to Live U solo through HDMI and then Send Live U solo to Switchboard for multi stream.
i still have network issues, when i go to remote areas.
Am hoping there someone out there that can teach how to use SRT to stream to Facebook and UA-cam
great Tool. i used it in my irl Streams but i have a problem that that it only can switch on a failed connection and not on a low Bitrate
So far what I've done was having my BRB video play below my SRT media source on OBS. That way when the media source disconnects or stops showing, BRB takes over until it reconnects.
I have a similar setup to all this. Great plug-in. I’m gonna have to use it!
A side note, do you have any idea on how to get stream notification sounds and tts to play out loud while you are IRL streaming? Ideally without an echo too.

Hi. I watched the video yet im still unsure. Windows is just a pain in the ass for stuff like this and I would like to be able to integrate it into my existing linux instances without messing with VMs or paying to Google Cloud for extra instances plus a windows server license. Have you tried this on a linux server environment?

The tuto is clean and nice but for me, something doesn't work with the SRT Monitor. I do have the blue screen but because it doesn't find the obs-websocket-js in the js folder which is placed in the nodejs/node_modules folder AND nodejs is installed. I reinstalled several times and restart the computer but still doesn't work. Do you know what it could be? Thank you

How can my phone camera as a media source? I was planning on using Droidcam OBS, but it only outputs via wifi. Am I able to use the Streamlabs android app in conjunction with this method?

Hey, perhaps someone can help me? I've filled in everything correctly including the port forwarding, but I still don't get any image, only when I enter the IPv4 address. I've also checked if the firewall settings were correct, and they were. Any ideas?

Concerning the dual SRT sources as mentioned at 12:49 In my initial testing with two SRT inputs in the same scene. Over time the streams run out of sync. Have you noticed this in your streams and if so how do you handle it?
You may just have to reset the streams every once in a while. Not sure there's a good way to deal with this. Try increasing the delay on both streams.
? Do you know how I would be able to stream from my Starlink. Without having a computer in the car. I have a GoPro and I have an encoder.

Greetings. Well the Subject says it all. But a bit more information.
I use the X-T20 as a webcam / streaming cam and wonder if the LCD on the back screen could get a burn-in because it shows the same picture for hours and days.
Would be nice if the Display and View finder (both) could be turned off after a few seconds until key press or something similar while "recording" to not risk burning in the image. I checked the settings but couldn't find anything that would help me here. Maybe I missed a setting?
Otherwise what would be the best way to ask Fujifilm for a Feature in the coming release?

hey thanks for vid. wyd if you dont have access to your pc and you want to IRL Stream? an example i can give is when you are on holidays in another country that you dont have your pc with you. or for example you have a laptop but you dont have a good internet connection to set it up
Hey! You can look into cloud based OBS solutions, which you could use as "stream PC"

Phone doesnt need the encoder! Just use Larix Screencaster

and the first program I open is the obs before the srt monitor but it doesn't seem to detect it. any help on what problem may be occurring between these 2 programs so that it does not detect that the obs is running?
PS: Have I already configured the configuration file of the loopy750 SRT-Stats-Monitor and checked that both programs are allowed in the windows firewall?

Why does this application open a new websocket connection to OBS every second continuously?
I'm having this same problem. I turned the alert off. Did you find a fix to this?
I got everything working but when it disconnects and goes to BRB, it doesn't reconnect back to the Main scene. Any help?
It might be a discrepancy between the config file names and OBS scene names. Feel free to stop by our Discord if you need more help
I had the same problem untill I finally payed attention to this line in the readme, and it fixed the issue.
Media Sources must have "Restart playback when source becomes active" disabled.

Probably is, but I'm not too familiar with vMix.
vMix natively supports an SRT ingest server but lacks the logics to switch scenes. Their proprietary vMic call solution also runs on the basis of SRT and shows a reconnecting icon if the input signal is lost iirc.
