Love a gadget video. The secret to the chocolate covered ice cream is adding a bit of coconut oil to the chocolate. It makes it like Magic Shell from the 90’s.
Oh Barry, so many user errors in this one! - you can't use straight chocolate to cover ice cream, it's too thick and hardens too slowly. You need to add some oil - coconut oil is my favourite but you can use any neutral oil - the main feature of the OGrate is that you don't need to lift the cheese, you can grate it on both upwards and downwards motion - good that you figured out you were using the grapefruit tool the wrong way - why didn't you try the Metaltex juicer over a bottle? - you didn't turn the nitrosurger on!
Big Clive has already had a go at this sort of thing. Along with several 'Will It Sodastream?' videos. With various types of booze. Very enlightening and funny - the Buckfast one is my favourite.

Oh Barry 🙈 with the Guinness Nitrosurge you have to press the Harp on the top and it glows. The machine makes a noise and while you pour it the flow changes every few seconds to mimic the draft and that’s what adds the nitrogen to the Guinness then you’ll get the domed head

The speedboat stirrer brought back some forgotten childhood memories for my siblings and me. We had some bathtub toys with the same mechanism :D :D love the gadget videos every single time! been here since the first one!
Dishwasher top rack vs. bottom rack thing, the older style dishwashers have a big ol' heating element in the bottom that melts plastic things on the drying cycle (from experience, a very messy and smelly time!!!), so plastics are safer in the top rack where they're less likely to melt when being dried off... :P
@@AntonGully As I said, 'older style' dishwashers, as we in the UK (and presumably Europe too) had such older style dishwashers which some people may still be using, current ones, yeah, the heating element is somewhere else, but older ones did have them in the bottom of the tub, our 90s Hotpoint one certainly did...
Hey Barry, professional chocolatier here, and fan of your channel. I would love to know what kind of chocolate you melted to make the ice cream dip, it seemed like the ice cream...while a bit soft, wasn't the issue, the chocolate was the issue. Brilliant well done mate. Barry make's me laugh. The chocolate on the face was the best. Especially him going out in public with it and no one told him. 🤣😜
I love, love, love my mini tagine/hot pot. I used to be on the road 4 days a week and it saved my health. I could pick up veggies, spices, garlic, butter, eggs, cheese, cooked meat at the grocery store each week and prepare amazing breakfasts and dinners using the hotel microwaves. I made the most amazing omelets, veggies and stir-fries. I even made a mini birthday cake for me. At home, I use it in the air fryer. The handle makes it easy to place in and remove (oven mitt required).
I actually really love that Hot Pot, I have one myself and made a amazing Apple Pie filling with it when I was craving it one day. Yes, Apples in a microwave, but it cooked it like making it in a oven!
The speedboat stirrer is a kinda funny idea, but there is a Moo Mixer cup you can buy that has the mixer at the bottom of the cup. A cup made specifically to stir your chocolate milk with the press of a button
For the icecream dipper you need a "shell" making chocolate. one that freezes and hardens instantly. I think that will do the trick. I know a while ago reeses and hersheys had something for that.
To make the chocolate for the ice cream it's easier if you add a bit of refined (deflavored) coconut oil. It mixes in to the chocolate, and hardens at slightly below room temperature. This makes a home version of a product called Magic Shell. I don't remember the precise amounts, but I've used it successfully in the past.
Is that coffee stirrer just an 80's toy? It looks like the type of thing we used to play with as kids, like the old, OLD wind up robots and stuff, but this looks like something from a bath toy.
I hope Barry has another go with the ice cream moulds and the Guinness gadget. Lekue has recipes on their website to use with the moulds and they advise adding 15g of coconut oil to 150g of dark chocolate for dipping. You'll get that crispy crack on the chocolate coating that way and it will harden instantly.
Lekue made that red and black microwave grill/toastie maker, which I still use all the time when doing cheese toasties and every time I'm still very conscious of where I'm putting my hands and wrists
Awesome video ❤ Very cool gadgets 😁👍 I'm wondering if you might need a different kind of chocolate for the ice cream but I haven't attempted that before. You are doing an excellent job with everything ❤ Many blessings 🥰
A chocolate "magic shell" would have worked far better for the ice cream. Also, I have had one of those stoneware microwave cookers (called Stone Wave Microwave Cooker here in the states) for ages now. They're also oven-safe, and I, being forever alone, often use mine to make single serving cakes and such in the oven.
You need to add something like shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate to make it work. Ive seen many chocolate recipe videos do this and I've done it myself (i used a tiny bit of shortening) If dipping doesn't go as planned, pour the chocolate over top (then flip and repeat)
You need to thin the chocolate with cooking oil so that it is a liquid at room temperature but sets when cold. I make this "shell" recipe all the time.
I am 47 sitting here in the pitch dark of night sweating during a power outage in my town watching this...11:50 in he says just before we do Do... And i busted out loud scaring my sleeping cat next to me lol... The little hot pot, back in the 70s we had them they were called bean pots or soups crocks. Depending on household really lol

For a chocolate shell. Mix about a third of a cup of coconut oil. Let it cool to room temp (as cold as you can before it hardens)and then dip it.
That was fun!🎉 Hope you made beef in beer and garlic mashed potatoes- mmmm!
I remember some stuff, Ice Magic? Choc sauce that set when you poured it on ice cream, 80's time?
My local thrift shops always have so many of those hot pots 😂
You need to add something like shortening or coconut oil to the chocolate to make it work. Ive seen many chocolate recipe videos do this and I've done it myself (i used a tiny bit of shortening)
If dipping doesn't go as planned, pour the chocolate over top (then flip and repeat)
You need to thin the chocolate with cooking oil so that it is a liquid at room temperature but sets when cold. I make this "shell" recipe all the time.
Re try the nitosurge Barry and turn it on it will help
