Next time you use the dumpling gadget, measure the diameter of the slot and cut out circles with a cookie cutter - easier than trimming edges after. Hack: if you have double sided plain/fluted cutters, you can use that to mark different filling - for example make all the vegetarian ones fluted and meaty ones plain.
My mom has been in the hospital since last Friday, and I’ve been spending my week up here with her and we aren’t getting very great news so it’s been glumly. Once I saw you had a new video out I quickly pulled it up on my laptop and played it for my mom. You managed to perk her up and make her smile so thank you soo much.
I bet when Boston woke up that morning he didn't even know all the thrilling things in store for him. Playing with a Ferris Wheel and a lemon water shower. What a day!
Just to point out the 'Free' items on Wish are purely because it's part of their policy that they're not obligated to refund shipping fee's. So if there was anything wrong with an item set as 'free but £3 shipping', you can't get a refund, because you only paid for the shipping, which you don't get back.
Ali Express does the "free" stuff as well. But I agree, they have more shipping options and you can actually pay a bit more for fast shipping (that's why sometimes you get stuff in a couple of weeks and sometimes in a couple of months, it depends on what shipping option is available for the item)
exactly that, nothing is free, but it does make people think that it is because of this. Because of the materials used (not food grade in many cases) it costs pennies to make and therefore even on a 3$ item with shipping included they still make a profit
Barry, your vid is great, but pls give prices including shipping. I've often found that their shipping price is equal to or greater than the listed item price. Thanks for testing stuff.
That heavy duty juicer is a copy on an antique model! I have one that has got to be 60-70 years old, made of silvery plated cast iron. One of the most powerful yet easy to use.
It's so interesting seeing your review of the dumpling gadget compared to another channel I watch! They used a different type of pastry (like the lighter, thinner type that you generally use to make dumplings) and the gadget failed right away, even after multiple attempts. But to see yours work is great and goes to show that the gadgets might not work with some expected items (like dumpling wrappers) but they could work and be used for other things, in the case, deep fried chilli pastry dumpling things! Loved this video a lot and have been watching your channel for a few years now and it's wonderful to see how much you have grown and still make me (and so many others) smile with each video
The last multi-tool gadget was also my favorite. Even though I don't cook a lot, some gadgets make me excited to be in the kitchen. Because if it does work, not only does it make things easier but also more fun :) Love this series can't wait for the next videos
I thought the first one was a mini cake cutter and that the free one was a pasta dough cutter. Love how Boston came alive with the mention of food, kind of like me lol.
most impressive part about that electric chopper is not so much that it worked, but that it didn't catch fire or die during testing. Either way, always be careful with anything electric from Wish or AliExpress. Can't trust them to be safe
Just finished my Barrathon, took about a week!! Thank you so much for doing these, i've bought a few little gadgets while watching with your links. You know when you've done something for so long that you dont remember what life was like before.... yeah.... might just have to move on to your kitchen hacks playlist now hahaha.
Right, and items always have multiple listings. One will be $2 with $1 shipping, another “free” with $3 shipping, and a third listing will be $1 with $2 shipping🙄.
The “food drill” that you’re using is designed to mimic what are called “forstner bits” that are used for woodworking. YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DRILL ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE VEGETABLE. I mean, you can of course, but the real point of forstner bits is that you can drill part way through something and it will leave a clean, flat surface at the bottom of the hole. So you’re supposed to drill partway through the vegetable and then pull the drill out and then you can fill the vegetable and the filling won’t come out of the bottom!
@3:00 - That's a clone of a forstner bit used in woodworking (they make pretty clean flat bottomed holes), they've just made it out of plastic and sold it as a food hole cutter. It's reasonably clever of them actually.
Those slicers are often used for spring onions (Negi) in Japan, so I had to get one. You could use it tableside to slice them directly onto dishes, like waiters do with pepper. 😎. (Providing the guide and blade don’t drop into the food. 😂)
Hey, Barry: "Free but pay shipping" is usually not actually free, the cost of the item is incorporated into the shipping. The exception to this is items that are "free but postage" as part of a temporary promotion.
I think the “barbaric” press would have worked much better if that orange half would have been cut in half again, so that it sat flush in the well. Because it was protruding above the well, and in a way that didn’t seem most conducive to being pressed (how the press had to smash the peel side up top initially, versus if it had been half the size and sat flush, the press would have encountered fruit flesh initially, and been much easier to push down to juice).
YES!!! I have that press! It's vintage!!!!!!! (I have the old one found in some garage sale or something) YOU QUARTER YOUR FRUITS (I'm screaming here seeing him struggle omg lol) It works like a charm!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAA good grief lol
Just want to thank you for your chopping set, my sister got it for me and I would be lost without it. My hands are so bad and I can't even hold a fork and it is so helpful. Once again thank you
Not gonna lie when I saw the handheld food processor work that well I ordered one. I found it on amazon for the same price but with prime next day shipping so cheaper overall.
I love feeding my dogs through enriching toys! Especially my small dog is extremely smart and he still goes through them super quickly. My big dog tends to eat his food extremely fast which causes him to cough it back up or even get sick. So for him it helps A LOT to eat at a more managable speed.
I feel like you could use that butter knife for carving like a wood gouge. You could put lil designs onto butter with it and what not. Also I've seen on Instagram them using a dumpling machine like that and they were using soda cans with the bottoms cut off to cut out the dough.
I've got one of those juicers from the 50s, and love it. They work better with smaller chunks of fruit. You can't beat it for juicing lemons and limes.
Business meeting: Boss: We need to make our product more appealing! Engineer: *doesn't pay attention* later: Engineer: The Boss said we should add a peeler.
You got free products on Wish, because the seller gets by selling the (free) products pushed in the algorithm and thus other they can sell products for a lot of profit.
I've been a fan of food chopper thingies for decades now and that one was even more impressive with how much it could do! I'm afraid to get that exact one because...it is still wish....but I would love a name brand one like it!
I don't think you're meant to go through the whole veg with the spiralizer... I think it's meant to make little cups to hold your filling. So you can make little edible cups.
OMG!!! Serendipity moment: just yesterday my sis sent me a video of that green food chopper!! She wanted me to see how to buy it.. But that turned out to be from a sketchy site with bad reviews (they advertise this but then sent a different one that just chopped not slice). And was 20€+shipping.. Now I know it really works and where to find it!! 😁😁😁 Thanks Barry!!! 💚
That last ones a natty little food chopper and I expected Boston to be jingling through the video but he obviously was too full and had a lemon rinse instead 😂😂😂
I like that the last one can work as a self-contained blender that you can keep adding to. Everything else about it seems like it could use some more time in R&D.
I would fill slightly smaller hollow veggies with tuna or chicken salad. I would even bring that to a party or potluck. Maybe try to leave a bit at the bottom so not messy to eat.
Dumpling one looks cool, but i feel like it could really use a sharper (baybe even a metallic insert) edge to cut off the excessive dough automatically, without you needing to pre0cut it ot round share or shave the excess off later with scissors

I think this is the first time I've seen Boston act like anything other than a slightly mobile floor potato. Good on him.
Mobile floor potato: That's so cute, how did you come up with this, hilarious. 💙
What happened to his other dog??
@@itachired2150 Poor thing, Amy, passed away. Doggo heaven now. 💙🐶

I think we need a segment where Boston reviews dog food dispensers. The Boston impressions was very funny btw!

So if there was anything wrong with an item set as 'free but £3 shipping', you can't get a refund, because you only paid for the shipping, which you don't get back.

@@bcaye Barry asked a question. I answered it. I'm not getting into a discussion about it.
The other thing is that stuff on Wish is overpriced and you're better off finding it on AliExpress (where the shipping is cheaper as well)
Ali Express does the "free" stuff as well. But I agree, they have more shipping options and you can actually pay a bit more for fast shipping (that's why sometimes you get stuff in a couple of weeks and sometimes in a couple of months, it depends on what shipping option is available for the item)

Aww seeing Boston playing with that food dispenser is the sweetest thing ❤ he’s so cute 🥰 great video as always Barry 👍🏻
He is 😻
I always rewind the doggie parts and rewatch over and over. He’s so calm and sweet. Poor thing got all wet 😆😅😶!
Hey Barry, the shipping on the "free" item was £3+, the one for £1 was £1.73 shipping. Hence your paying for the item in the shipping cost :)
exactly that, nothing is free, but it does make people think that it is because of this. Because of the materials used (not food grade in many cases) it costs pennies to make and therefore even on a 3$ item with shipping included they still make a profit

I love the little lemon thing. My mom had those back in the 80s. We used them at Christmas & special occasions every guest had one at their plate.
That's actually a cool way of leaving the option to use the lemon to the guests, while sparing everyone from squeezing it with their bare hands.
BARRY! Put an apple in the freezer over night. In the morning let it sit out till it’s dewy, then make some cold pressed apple juice!!!!!!
Love that Boston got a product!

I think the pet treat ferris wheel should get first place, as its the first time Boston has had a gadget to test out.
Boston is so cute , could you try a recipe for home made doggie buiscuits and then see if they are Boston approved? that would be fun to watch😊
