We feel your pain, Lost our first drone 4 years into flying. Motor failed over water. Nicaragua would have impounded it had you had it. Be warned no drones in that country. In Sri Lanka I almost lost a drone to wind. Used the terrain to get back flew low. Best of luck, anything can happen.
Ahh dang that sucks! Yeahh don’t want to mess with drones in Nicaragua. Yeah I’ve had the high wind warning so many times that I always pretty much ignore it… this was first time the wind was strong enough to not be able to return.
Omg hi, Landon you probably won’t remember me but UA-cam recommended me your UA-cam video. Anyway I subscribed to your UA-cam channel and I hope you enjoy your travel and stay safe 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@LandonBishoff Omg that’s great you remember me Landon! I’m doing great thank you for asking! Also happy late belated birthday I hope you had a amazing birthday and travel safe! I’m enjoying watching your bike motorcycle video travel safe! Also my both parents are from Mexico my mom said she love your video!
Oh no. So very sorry about the drone. I know you are devastated over losing something so expensive. Stay safe and God Bless. Oh I bet that river was amazing to swim in.
I know! When it happened I was super sad. Obviously in the next video we see that it turned out okay. Yeah Mike is from Nebraska and was living in Cozumel for a bit and decided to go on a moto trip. So he's just traveling as well
Bummer you lost the drone😭 hope you can find it, your drone footage was always top notch! It was dope to see you cruising with an africa twin tho! I just got one last week!
I know! :(( haha but yeah Mike has the Africa Twin! It’s a great bike and you did?? That’s awesome my guy! I bet you’ll get into some fun trips on that thing!
And yes if this is the first drone you have lost that's pretty good. I have been flying drones for years, including several years almost daily at my job in law enforcement and I have unfortunately lost a few. Lessons learned.
Daily drone pilot that's super cool Doug! By the title of your channel I always imagined that maybe you worked for yourself. What's the main application for law enforcement and drones?
@@LandonBishoff they’re used all the time for all kinds of applications. Mostly searching for suspects, lost people / hikers, but also for tactical purposes like overview of a swat incident.
@@LandonBishoff no it’s special training. Where I worked there were 7 of us trained and licensed to fly. We carried them in our cars plus we had other drones for different applications. We got called out often to use them in different situations. Yeah pretty cool to get paid to fly drones. Very effective tool.
@@LandonBishoff I know your videos are a little behind. Where are you right now. I’m coming to Baja on the 26th gonna be riding down Baja for about 10 days mostly off road stuff.
Yeahhh it was, but when I flew the drone I want on top of the mountain and so I just thought maybe it wouldn't be that bad a little lower. Also ive flown the drone in bad wind lots of time and never had an issue. But it is what it is
I change it about every 700 miles. I watch it pretty closely and depending on how hard I’m on the bike I might change it sooner or later. I never drop it black. If I were you I would get the Taco moto magnetic oil filter. That’s the route I would go/ will go when I get back to the states. And when you say do I recommend it are you talking about recommend the KTM500 for long distance travel?
@@LandonBishoff Yes to the 500 for long distance question, bc changing the oil so often and might not be the most easy thing to do every few days. Thanks for the oil magnetic thing recommendation, I didnt even know it existed.
Yeahh to be honest I wouldn’t! I think it’s probably rare the person I would recommend it to. When I get off this trip I plan on doing a very very in depth video on all this. However at the end of the day if you don’t care about comfort & conviene and you want to be able to go anywhere it’s a good bike! Haha
@@LandonBishoff I dont see myself riding a T7 or a GS, specially when doing mostly offroad. Thanks tho for the answers, take care keep the uploading is fire
What exact model is it? I lost my DJI S2 and was able to buy a replacement drone only from Amazon... No batteries, no charger, no propellers, no memory card and no controller for around $700
Oh BUMMER. Landon I can relate about losing a drone (check out this episode in Alaska). So if you ever make it up to ,mile marker 25.6 on the Haines Hwy in Alaska somewhere in the forest, along with the grizzly bears is a nice Skydio2 drone haha. Hopefully lesson learned, the hard way, when its windy alway fly upwind first so the return you have the wind helping it return. ua-cam.com/video/_Iho37x07KM/v-deo.htmlsi=fk6LF6neOIqIDmTZ
Thanks Doug! And dang my friend im sorry to hear about yours. I just figure its part of the hobby. Eventually one day your gonna lose one or two if you do it enough.
It is ok..forget it and move on. Never buy expesive gadgets ,you will never know when are you goin to lost it.A lot of vloggers loxst their drone as well not only you.Choose the cheaper with good quality.
A key fact that I haven't heard expressed in the video is that El Salvador has the most volcanoes of any Central American country. Truly, (a ring of fire)!
The ups and downs! That’s what makes an adventure. Thanks for another video.
Thanks Aaron! Yeah gotta stay positive
Bummer! 😢 hope one day it’s found as a time capsule. The locals will love watching you in 2055
I know right! Obviously in the next video we see that it wasn't all that bad right haha. Time capsule would have been cool though
Roll with it, brother! You've become good at it.
Vaya con DIOS, AMIGO!👍👍
Thanks brother! yeah gotta just roll with the punches

Yeahh that’s just it James. Ya learn and just keep going
Bummer about the drone,,,,, but, everything happens for a reason. GREAT video otherwise! Love the shots from the volcano! Thanks Landon.
Thanks Steve and without reveling to much everything does happen for a reason

Good to see you brother!! Keep ⛽️ it!!!
Thanks brother! Hope your enjoying the videos
A great video Landon. On the edge of the volcano, my stomach had a moment looking over and the wind up there 😬 I'm really sorry about your drone.
haha yeah the volcano crater was quite high and it was super windy. Thanks about the drone.. But hey maybe I get it back somehow
Sorry Landon, I know that sick to your stomach feeling when you lose expensive gear. Keep going bro.
Thanks Tim.. Yeah it was a tough feeling, but hey who knows maybe ill get it back

Ahh thanks my friend this is very kind! Not a lot of taco spots down here right now, but I’ll go on a search for some! Thank you
