Favorite parts: seeing Kazansky, Ulrezaj, and that famous battle between Kerrigan and Tassadar. One thing though: did ANYONE survive New Gettysburg? Overall, just.... Njnwjnsjndnjfjnfjnf. So amazing.
i have to give you props dude this is an awesome cinematic, and i only hope you do more like them (or better yet, doing updated versions of all the old broodwar cinematics etc
This must have taken forever to make, great job. I also like how you had respect for us sci-fi fans by keeping it realistic (showing space warp when they use slipspace, etc.)
Thank you. Actually, do you know The Lord Inquisitor animation? My friend Erasmus has created that one last year and is making more Warhammer awesomeness!
Sadly, I do not know what that is... I never played the first Starcraft gane beyond a single mission my dad once showed me... are there a lot of cameos in this vid that people are supposed to get? Hoping for more goodies :)
Wow, extremely well done. Great Video, especially the scenes involving the BCs and the Protoss Carriers are just awesome. For a fan animation this has an incedribly good quality! Well done sir!
This is one of the most, if not THE best fan made video of anything i have ever seen. make more. I will share this and share your other videos (if you make more) with everyone i know. Kuddos man, this is amazing
I agree, there is always room for improvement. I'm a generalist, and that means doing some of everything while sacrificing the amazing prowess in particular domains that a specialist would possess. In this project's case, character animation has suffered the most because it is really the hardest thing to pull off and I'm not a specialist in that.
This is really, really well made, and thats likely an understatement, this would fit in perfectly with the blizzard scenes in the games, nobody could tell the difference! You good sir, is simply amazing. And tell your friends they make some kickass models!
This is amazing..look like a true cinematic during the game. I've enjoyed this video very much; thank you and good job freespace87. Great job at all! (and sorry for my bad english)
He says the famous Protoss catchphrase: En taro Adun. You can turn on subtitles for the animation by pressing the CC button (to the left of the fullscreen button)
wow holy crap I thought this was straight from Blizz or something really well done, who ever did the voicing hats off to them as well really well done! You guys need more recognition for this work!
Why haven't I seen this before now? One of the greatest fan fiction cinematics of all time, here in youtube, with only 100k views. This blew my mind into little rainbow-coloured bits of marshmallow. A MUST SEE for anyone into Starcraft!
The camera would still shake because any vibration would then affect the camera itself, unless you have some sort of stabilization system on the camera. The smallest disturbance will affect a camera in ways you can't imagine until you actually try it out.
I must say that few things ever impressed me as much as your work here... and I called myself a Starcraft fan :) I'm dying to see more of your great skills with cinematics for the games you love : )
The Archon scene is inded Ulrezaj; it is the creation of Ulrezaj on the moon Ehlna (Haven). The planetary battle at the start is part of the battles that took place on Char during the Brood War. Yes, I am Romanian, and thank you for putting me in the same league as the great Nicolae Iorga. I'm honored. :)
Thanks man! I would love to see a proper StarCraft movie. It should be 3 hours long, or a trilogy, and have nice progression from focusing on character relationships at the start into epic showdowns towards the end. The StarCraft lore deserves to be shown cinematically at a massive scale and not many directors can display that properly (Peter Jackson or James Cameron have shown how to do it).
I cannot saw this before, it is great job! My favourite scene was Kerrigan vs. Tassadar fight as we could read in the book of The "Queen Of Blades". I'm glad be to see some desperated persons who enough creative and well-talented of animating to create short films about legendary games and stories. Well done. ;)
This was amazing, the details and motions of the machines and Terrans were wonderful, the textures are high quality, and the voices are perfect. But the Zergling movements were rather stiff, and the Mutalisk wing flapping motions didn't look organic. All in all it was a great animation and you and the others that worked on it definitely deserve an applause for making something that could almost pass for an official Blizzard trailer. Good job!
1. Exactly. 2. Rendertimes varied between 1 minute per frame to 60-70 minutes per frame. It all depends on what's in the shot. Longest renders were the Marines, and the smoke effects at the end with Tassadar.
Thanks, I did this because I am a big fan of StarCraft and because doing CG is what I do. :) Combine the two, add some free time that I had, you get this.
Crazy, man... it kicks any movie in original SC in quality (I guess since graphics engine is much better than back then) but even put against SC2 vids by Blizzard, this really is insanely good and almost as good as the real deal. It might as well be at the same level. Go work for Blizzard! Very much enjoyed the movie, thank you and keep up the awesomeness!
bro seriously wtf!?!?! this is amazing! Have blizzard seen this, i mean you spent a year and a half of free time making this, surely someone somewhere should be paying you for such a master piece:)
Hi! I don't comment than often, but dude that was just awesome!!!!! congratulations man!!! I was waiting to see such an awesome cinematic of starcraft like this one!!! with those old school characters!!!!! totally loved it!!!! keep it up!!!!!! thank you for making it!!!!!! =)
Ah there are some Banshees at 1m:28, but they just fly toward the ground, where they can make use of their Air-to-Ground missiles. :) I wanted to add some Banshees in those shots because the Banshee is the first StarCraft model I created, back in 2009. I really wanted to showcase it and this felt like the best spot for it.
if this is only kind of warm-up i would like to see finished, feature-length movie!!! MAN that what u did here is just.... briliant!! as a fan of SC i'm waiting for the day when the sc MOVIE appears. generally based on games plot but of course enriched by the author. however for the time being i'm impressed probably as most of the other viewers by your production :) i wish u GL & HF in producing more stuff like that:) ALL THE BEST DUDE!! ^_^
The algorithm sent me here in 2021.
Excellent work.
Thank you and thanks to the algorithm :)
"And wrath shall pour from mouths of steel on spawn of Satan". Holy shit what a great delivery, fantastic writing.
Glad you like it! :D
Favorite parts: seeing Kazansky, Ulrezaj, and that famous battle between Kerrigan and Tassadar.
One thing though: did ANYONE survive New Gettysburg?
Overall, just.... Njnwjnsjndnjfjnfjnf. So amazing.
i have to give you props dude
this is an awesome cinematic,
and i only hope you do more like them
(or better yet, doing updated versions of all the old broodwar cinematics etc
Wait dude, you made this at home?? On your PC?!? WAT? You must be a animation GOD !
This must have taken forever to make, great job. I also like how you had respect for us sci-fi fans by keeping it realistic (showing space warp when they use slipspace, etc.)
2:45 "Husky" Easter Egg?
wow, This is awesome . I nearly forgot that this is actually a custom made production and not a blizzard one . Good job
Sarah kerrigan 89 years old
Woah, I had a hard time believing this was fan made until the credits. This rivals Blizzard's CG for SC2, absolutely amazing work.
Thank you. Actually, do you know The Lord Inquisitor animation? My friend Erasmus has created that one last year and is making more Warhammer awesomeness!
This is pretty impressive. You, sir, have done an awesome job.
Poor HUSKY xD
Seems prophetic in retrospect, he did disappear (as far as I know) from the internet a roughly a year ago.
This is incredibly detailed. I can't begin to imagine the amount of work and how many hours went into this. Good job indeed. :3
WHAT???WITH WHAT DID YOU MAKE THIS?
Narthaniel Watts max, actually :)
I have been searching for Starcraft videos like this one... for a very long time. *Tears* Thank you.
...Damn...
They hire you yet?
Not Blizzard, but I'm currently at RealtimeUK. :)
Sadly, I do not know what that is... I never played the first Starcraft gane beyond a single mission my dad once showed me... are there a lot of cameos in this vid that people are supposed to get?
Hoping for more goodies :)
+Michael VPS Yes, this video is one big reference xD, give me my golden shovel plz
Adrian Malinowski Ah...okay? *hands over the requested shovel*
OMG! I had to watch this an extra two times just to take in how amazing this is! Good job!! I hope to see more starcraft related films from you :)
I agree, there is always room for improvement. I'm a generalist, and that means doing some of everything while sacrificing the amazing prowess in particular domains that a specialist would possess. In this project's case, character animation has suffered the most because it is really the hardest thing to pull off and I'm not a specialist in that.
THAT WAS PHENOMINAL!!! OOOHHH MYYY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING loved all the voices!!
by far one of the greatest videos ive ever seen YOURE GREAT! :D please keep them coming!
This is really, really well made, and thats likely an understatement, this would fit in perfectly with the blizzard scenes in the games, nobody could tell the difference!
You good sir, is simply amazing.

Hi Franz,
Thanks for the kind words and support! :)
There is more coming, just at a slower pace due to work.

I'm just amazed by the quality of your work.
Why haven't I seen this before now? One of the greatest fan fiction cinematics of all time, here in youtube, with only 100k views.

OMG. That video is beyond GORGEOUS. Fantastic work!

Nice shout out to Husky at 2:47. Love this cinematic, magnificent work.
I must say that few things ever impressed me as much as your work here... and I called myself a Starcraft fan :) I'm dying to see more of your great skills with cinematics for the games you love : )
Rendertimes varied between 1 minute to 60-70 minutes per frame. The Marine scenes were the most difficult to render.
What the hell, this is a fan made video!!!?
What fabulous quality it is.
I came here expecting this might be something lame, but was pleasantly surprised.
Nice going, dude. Really awesome.

The battle between Tassadar and Kerrigan, was awesome, well done!
You should feel honored that someone has mixed up your work with Blizzards production. Fantastic job btw, keep it up!
I cannot saw this before, it is great job! My favourite scene was Kerrigan vs. Tassadar fight as we could read in the book of The "Queen Of Blades". Dude, how does this not have a million views?! Its amazing!!
holy crap, this was AMAZING! Good job man, you and your animation team should have your pick of wealthy clients
It was amazing and I think the only issues I see are the Zerg flyers and the queen of blades face. But even so that was A-MA-ZING. Great job dude.
There are actually some really good movie idea scenes in this like carriers warping in and shit I’d love to see that with movie affects
Thanks! Some of those scenes are 8 years old now, but I'd imagine a lot of the camera-work and layout would be similar if I did them now.
This is hell epic. Well done my good sir. It's the most epic thing I've seen in a long while. O_o
I love how you call the whole of starcraft 2 storyline before even the first expansion :P good job sire good job
1. Exactly.
2. Rendertimes varied between 1 minute per frame to 60-70 minutes per frame. It all depends on what's in the shot. Longest renders were the Marines, and the smoke effects at the end with Tassadar.
This video sent chills through my body. Great work.

Incredible job! The effects are amazing!
Thanks, I did this because I am a big fan of StarCraft and because doing CG is what I do. :) Combine the two, add some free time that I had, you get this.
Very well made, I'd be interested in a full-blown movie! Great work.
That was awesome! I loved the Carrier Hyperspace
Crazy, man... it kicks any movie in original SC in quality (I guess since graphics engine is much better than back then) but even put against SC2 vids by Blizzard, this really is insanely good and almost as good as the real deal. you're so awsome Freespace :D epic video, came back to check it out again :)
Wow. Just wow. That animation is so awesome...I cant belive that it wasnt made by Blizzard.

I am going to start working at Realtime UK in a month or so, doing CG trailers and cinematics for various games.
Bro your movie is awesome the best i seen on yt, you are the man !!!
Holy shit, that's some high quality work! and a nice one to look at!
Ah there are some Banshees at 1m:28, but they just fly toward the ground, where they can make use of their Air-to-Ground missiles. :)
I wanted to add some Banshees in those shots because the Banshee is the first StarCraft model I created, back in 2009. I really wanted to showcase it and this felt like the best spot for it.
Really? No wonder the animations there look so cool. That will do, I guess. Keep it up man, your work is awesome.
That is Ulrezaj. He is an antagonist in the Dark Templar Saga trilogy of books, and in the StarCraft 1 Enslavers campaign.
Great effort has be poured out on this animation! Keep it up! :)
THats pretty amazing for a fan vid. Very well done!
Amazing work, a pleasure to watch, respect from a software nerd from Tunisia
in one word: wow.
i cant believe one person did all this.
cool husky tribute.
Every visual element, music and voices in this animation were created specifically for this.
