I love all 3 adaptions of MDZS. In my opinion, I really liked live-action. Although it's censored but Yibo and Xiao Zhan did a really good job of showing their emotions to each other. Their eyes spoke it all, their emotions are too real. It just proves that you don't need to roll on the bed naked to be a BL. Sometimes love isn't all about sex...but yes...I would like them to hold hands, hugged and kiss each other like a boyxgirl XianXia novel but censorship won't allow that.
I think the director didn’t try to be subtle at all, just avoid explicit dialog/context. Pushing as far as he could with Chinese censorship. My 60 yrs old mom can sense that it’s BL and I told her nothing 😂

Donghua version feels like a memory, how Lan Zhan would always remember their past and his faithful love since the day he laid his eyes on Wei Ying. Any versions of this story is always a masterpiece, but the CQL has stolen my heart forever. I keep saying this but The Untamed is like a memory I didn't have but felt belonged.

i think the drama one followed the novel perfectly but just more it's just much more detailed to connect all the pieces together at the climax of the show

Audio drama killed it, it's the first yet still wearing it's crown. You can just feel the love and effort that went into the adaptation. If not for the novel, it would be my favourite. As for donghua, I liked the cave version a lot and I have a theory (I really hope it comes true!) that we'll get Xianyun male version as our opening for s3.
I cry that I have been back for years... yeah since 3 years. The songs, the story, the characters... MDZS is my favorite and I thank the author MXTX who thanked me enormously and I am always in my heart Wangxian. I do not forget how it was the most beautiful and emotions of the best BL despite the censorship. I listen to my 80+ years old.
wuji is always gonna be that nostalgic song which reminds me of wangxian more than the other songs since i was introduced to mdzs and danmei in general through the live action

my personal favourite is the drama version (i probably have a bias since it was the first ver i watched) but like all three versions are amazing and they really hit you with the feels.
If I were a random listener without knowing the story, Audio Drama would be my favorite because it’s indeed a beautiful song. But if I were to consider it’s a song made by Lan Zhan, the Donghua version looks to be the most fitting whether be it lyrics, melody, or energy of the song. The energy of the first two songs are just a tad too overpowering for someone like Lan Zhan imo.

All 3 versions are so different and yet so amazing. Personally, the harmonies and perfect synchronicity of Xiao Zhan and Yibo’s vocals of the live action version always gives me chills. Even watching them perform it live it sounds almost identical to the recording and the timing is exact. They must have worked really hard to get it perfect.
the order of the songs is also how I personally would rank them, I like Wangxian from the audio drama the most, and the song from the donghua i would rank last, cause sadly it is not sung by LWJ & WWX
All version is really good. You just have to feel it. When I watched TU my favorite was wuji..I thought other two odd. But after reading manhua WangXian(audio drama) hit me differently. Then I made this two my favorite. But last month I finished the anime...and at last I can feel the song(donghua). It's really really sweet... So I came to a conclusion that all version of WangXian is really really good...all version. The flute tone in wuji, the music in WangXian (audio drama), and the meaning in donghua version....God idk why all this song is so addictive
The audio drama is very beautiful and has such a heartbreaking feel to it imo. The live drama ver. has the feeling of longing the one u love, especially the piano parts that were played throughout the drama were very romantic and beautiful. The donghua is very beautiful, yet very reminiscing. You can just vision the love and memories between the two. They are all beautiful in their own ways❤️
I am here for the live Action Wei Ying. - #XiaoZhan So many Toxic people in the world might rub their negativity on him. Truly multitalents young man. I hope we have a Legend in The making.
I dunno how to explain it but imo the donghua hit it actually. The lyrics and the song describe how desperate Wangji's love for Wei Ying and make it so sad. This is the first time he's fallin love, it's sweet but suffocating sometimes coz at first it was more like unrequited love for him, so at least he wants to watch Wei Ying from the side even tho Wei Ying doesn't love him back. I think the song more likely describe his love after Wei Ying's death that's why he's recalling all of those memories and don't want to wake up from those sweet dream. For the AD version, it's love song from Wangji's and Wei Ying's POV and some lyrics using a poem, that's make it beautiful and have a deep meaning for me that's why i like this one the most. Also 'avoiding the dust of everyday life’ has same meaning as Wangji's sword. Its describe their old days and Wangji's strong love for Wei Ying. "It turns out that all along, these feelings have actually been about you" describe their love to e/o. So i think this song more likely after Wei Ying is back and Wei Ying began to realize his feeling. For the LA more likely when they are together (?) But there's also some hint of reminiscent of the old days. Excuse my bad english 🙏

2023 here. I was indeed amused by The Untamed Drama although it has been released for past year. I really like the song in every versions. At first I watched the Donghua but couldn't remember much of it after I watch the Live action. Afterall, before I watch the live action it was 1 year ago when I watch the donghua and I really have bad memory to remember such before I got fund on it. I was thinking to re-watch it again, since as I was reading some comments in here that the live action due to its censorship has got some cut outs and it's very different in the donghua, manhua and novel if I am right. Still wouldn't change the fact that every versions is showing a very good meaning on it. That's why I chose them all.

They are all beautiful, but I feel that 2 wuji has a main melody which could have been hummed in the cave of slaughter and later played on flute. Simple and memorable. I think this is what was really hummed that day, and remembered after 16 years.

I do not forget how it was the most beautiful and emotions of the best BL despite the censorship. I listen to my 80+ years old.
wuji is always gonna be that nostalgic song which reminds me of wangxian more than the other songs since i was introduced to mdzs and danmei in general through the live action

Same, that song was composed by Lan Zhan, so it being sung by a female doesn't feel the same. Don't get me wrong, Hita is a wonderful singer, but that song feels best when sung by a male.

my personal favourite is the drama version (i probably have a bias since it was the first ver i watched) but like all three versions are amazing and they really hit you with the feels.

Personally, I love all 3 of them. But, the live action one really gets me. The flute, the instruments, and the vocals are all too good

If I were a random listener without knowing the story, Audio Drama would be my favorite because it’s indeed a beautiful song. But if I were to consider it’s a song made by Lan Zhan, the Donghua version looks to be the most fitting whether be it lyrics, melody, or energy of the song. The energy of the first two songs are just a tad too overpowering for someone like Lan Zhan imo.

Does the audio drama one make anyone else cry? like ACTUAL tears, not like tears in your heart but like the ones on ur face? GFJDHGKJSDF sorry but I remember listening to it after finishing the book while I was just getting into danmei novels, so listening to it not only prods on my wangxian heartstrings but also recalls those memories,,, it just sounds nostalgic and makes me want to turn back time and experience it once more T.T
All 3 versions are so different and yet so amazing. Personally, the harmonies and perfect synchronicity of Xiao Zhan and Yibo’s vocals of the live action version always gives me chills. Even watching them perform it live it sounds almost identical to the recording and the timing is exact. They must have worked really hard to get it perfect.

All version is really good. You just have to feel it. When I watched TU my favorite was wuji..I thought other two odd. But after reading manhua WangXian(audio drama) hit me differently. Then I made this two my favorite. But last month I finished the anime...and at last I can feel the song(donghua). It's really really sweet...
So I came to a conclusion that all version of WangXian is really really good...all version. The flute tone in wuji, the music in WangXian (audio drama), and the meaning in donghua version....God idk why all this song is so addictive
The audio drama is very beautiful and has such a heartbreaking feel to it imo. The live drama ver. has the feeling of longing the one u love, especially the piano parts that were played throughout the drama were very romantic and beautiful. The donghua is very beautiful, yet very reminiscing. You can just vision the love and memories between the two. They are all beautiful in their own ways❤️

I dunno how to explain it but imo the donghua hit it actually. The lyrics and the song describe how desperate Wangji's love for Wei Ying and make it so sad. This is the first time he's fallin love, it's sweet but suffocating sometimes coz at first it was more like unrequited love for him, so at least he wants to watch Wei Ying from the side even tho Wei Ying doesn't love him back. I think the song more likely describe his love after Wei Ying's death that's why he's recalling all of those memories and don't want to wake up from those sweet dream.
For the AD version, it's love song from Wangji's and Wei Ying's POV and some lyrics using a poem, that's make it beautiful and have a deep meaning for me that's why i like this one the most. Also 'avoiding the dust of everyday life’ has same meaning as Wangji's sword. Its describe their old days and Wangji's strong love for Wei Ying. "It turns out that all along, these feelings have actually been about you" describe their love to e/o. So i think this song more likely after Wei Ying is back and Wei Ying began to realize his feeling.
For the LA more likely when they are together (?) But there's also some hint of reminiscent of the old days.

I love all the ost. They all so good. They all made me cry. But if i hv to choose audio drama wangxian is my fav. After tht is from donghua. The lyrics for donghua is really hearthbreaking. Tht was LanZhan pure feelings. His pain yearning fo his love to weiying. Not only the story but the song is great as well. One of the best story and drama i hv ever seen.
Audio drama ver. will always be #1 in my heart 😭 It's the most touching to me imo, but I also love the live action & donghua's as well ^^

Definitely xian yun is the best in my heart, the best best one. I read manga and listen to the song and just cry myself out :> bcs of LWJ and the kindhearted WWX. Next one definitely Wuji ver of WYB 💙 the manga is worthy reading i means the stroke the drawing everything is on point

They sang it actually! They're both singers. Yibo is from the k-pop group 'UNIQ' and Xiao Zhan is from 'xnine'.
My favourites are audio drama and live action because wei wuxian and lan wangji were the ones sang "wangxian", much more romantic this way

2023 here. I was indeed amused by The Untamed Drama although it has been released for past year. I really like the song in every versions. At first I watched the Donghua but couldn't remember much of it after I watch the Live action. Afterall, before I watch the live action it was 1 year ago when I watch the donghua and I really have bad memory to remember such before I got fund on it. I was thinking to re-watch it again, since as I was reading some comments in here that the live action due to its censorship has got some cut outs and it's very different in the donghua, manhua and novel if I am right. Still wouldn't change the fact that every versions is showing a very good meaning on it. That's why I chose them all.
My fave is live action I absolutely love them all of course.

Wangxian (audio drama): gives me soft lovey dovey feels and rlly highlights their lives afterwards makes me so happy. You could feel the love and tenderness between them that makes u wanna melt
Wuji (drama): gives a sense of longing and a salute to their futures and their love for each other.
Xian Yun (donghua): makes be bawl my eyes out so much cuz u can fricking FEEL WangJi's yearning and sadness during Wei WuXian's death omg i cant stop crying but its still beautiful😭😭😭😭

They are all beautiful, but I feel that 2 wuji has a main melody which could have been hummed in the cave of slaughter and later played on flute. Simple and memorable. I think this is what was really hummed that day, and remembered after 16 years.
