My first time at an NFL game to watch my favorite team, the Bears. I was 15 and a sophomore in high school. My mom (God rest her soul) got the ticket for me from a friend of hers. Cost was $20, endzone seat. I'm so grateful for that lifelong memory she gave me just by buying that ticket for me. Being at a live NFL game for the first time was surreal for me, I remember that (I've been to countless Bears' games since then). The entire endzone seating where I was at was ALL Bears fans. Sometime during the game, you can hear chanting "LET'S GO BEARS....LET"S GO BEARS...." That was mostly all of us Bears fans in the endzone area. Barry Sanders had a really good game. Little did we know at the time that he would end up one of the greatest. All we knew at that time was that he was looking to be a pretty good rookie RB. Great memories from my childhood! Thanks for posting this.
The first 4 are the only ones worth watching cause they started out 4-0 and ended up 6-10! Dan Hampton started the first 4 games, then missed the rest of the season due too a knee operation. They shut out the Pittsburgh Steelers later in the season but it was the first 4 that gave us hope in 1989.
I was 11 when this game was played. I remember thinking Mike Tomczak sucked as a QB, but after seeing the pathetic QBs we've had since, especially Mitch Trubisky, I'll take Mike or Jimmy Harbaugh any day.
with all his other amazing talents , Sanders was a very powerful runner . watch closely how many defenders, even lineman & linebackers bounce off of barry's powerful legs when he's running downdield towards the outside
Bob Gagliano?1? Wow, thanks for putting up all these old games so we can see that there were total nonentities playing QB even back in 'the good old days'...
Asterisk, Dan Hampton got hurt. He came back fo his las season in 1990, they went 12 - 6 including playoffs and were only beaten by the eventual champions New York Giants.
1:38:14 I remember a certain Bears WR who damn well earned the nickname "Stone Hands." He wore #83 and his last name rhymes with "Fault." That dude just killed me during the Bears '80's heyday.
stupid me. for some reason i was confusing Mel Gray with Oakland wide receiver of the late 70's and into the 1980s Cliff Branch . Branch was a world class sprinter . when they still ran 100 yd dash(now required is 100 meters = 110 yds) he ran a 9.2 . Bob Hayes ran the fastest 100 yd dash at 9.1 seconds. Mel Gray for Detroit here in this game and other teams in the 90s became an all time great kick returner . his speed i guess reminds me of cliff branch . then there was another Mel Gray who played in the 70s with Cardinals great receiver and world class sprinter .
Hi buddy how have you been? I was wondering if you could please please send me a link to 1989 wk 3 49ers at Eagles and 1987 wk 16 Rams at 49ers? I used to have them but now I cant find them. Id really appreciate it.
Wow, thanks so much! My favourite team - Da Bears - from my favourite NFL era - the 80s!
Where all here for one guy; "Barry Sanders "

Love it!!!
Bears games from 89 are lost forever until now👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Barry Sanders was electrifying! Neal Anderson was as well. Mike Tomczak looks pretty dang good as Bears QB!
This was a fun game to watch. Thank for this.
This game was more or less of a shootout between two seemingly unstoppable RBs Neal for the Bears and Barry for the Lions.

I would love to see a Bears vs. Lions playoff game happen one day especially if it was in Detroit that shit will be crazy.
Thank you, Richard.

Ditka in a suit is bad ass.
There's no class in society anymore.
That the season we started 4-0 but finished 6-10 a season I like to forget.
Tonic Coker How many teams in the history of the NFL had a 4-0 start and ended up finishing 6-10? Probably no one else.

Scoobycarr5558 Eagles started 7-2 in 94 and finished 7-9 that’s worse

It was in this game that first learned what a headache facing Sanders 2 times a year for the next several seasons was going to be.
I’m here for Dan Jiggetts!
Its sad that the Silverdome is demolished
All 3 Indianapolis and Minneapolis also had the exact same stadium. Forced air kept the roof up. Snow was always a problem in these climates
All time Techno Bowl great Cap Boso played this game.
Still waiting for the Lions to Restore The Roar 33yrs later
Tom Dooley was the game's referee...may he rest in peace!

That hit at 5:34!
finally some Bears games when they Ruled the North
At about the 5:50 you might be able to see the Fridge on the Bears' sideline
Is that the game with the injured neck man?
does anyone have the bears vs bucs 1993
Bears got off to a great start this season, but finished terrible 6-10.
Smh, another blacked out game in Detroit.
Cocaine Wayne Fontes. LOL
