About 6 years ago when I first rode past that building it really stuck out in my mind (the building front) so I looked for matching door inlets and saw that weird kinda hipster shop. I understand why someone wouldn't like the later albums in comparison because there was a significant shift in style after Tri Repetae. I personally prefer the first few albums too though I find many tracks from their later work fantastic as well. Exai was great, probably my most listened to Autechre album after the first three.

I still think rpeg - which was my first intro to Autechre - is my all-time favourite (from ep7). Amazon recommended ep7 way back in the day to me since I loved Orb, Orbital, Boards of Canada, and many others. I bought it and was thinking, "WTF is this noise?" and returned it. Then a year later, it just "clicked" in my head and I wanted to hear it again. Been an Autechre fan since. I'd say the only artists I like consistently better than Autechre are Stereolab.
