profd65 but then someone makes one that subverts our expectations, making it funny. It’s the classic gag format, something does something, they do it again, and again, and then it happens in a different way that we didn’t expect
this might just sound like regular run of the mill electronic music, but when you consider that he recorded and produced this before electricity was even invented, well its actually kind of impressive tbh
Jesus Christ the way the title track almost fakes you out with how deceptively relaxing it is before taking you into the double megaton punch of Isoprophlex and Entrance to Exit is still the craziest shit ever. It's like an acid trip gone wrong. Still a brilliant EP tho also can't believe he made this in the year 3190 from beyond the grave and beamed it back to his past self to be released in 1991. nice one richard
I saw this band open for Aphex Twin in 2004--and I remember some guy laughing, and saying, "That guy's pretending to be Aphex Twin!" Then he said, "Shit, man, that IS Aphex Twin!"
he hasn't composed this album yet but it will be so good it will trascend the barriers of time and exist across time and space everywhere at the same time
Also, the way he used milk -- he modelled the modulations for the oscillators on the molecular structure of goat's milk. Richard can basically never claim that his music is vegan .
OMG! This is it! I remember listening to this, haven't heard it since 1994 when Kurdt passed away and Melodies From Mars, that's all I used to listen to. This music reminds me of my grandma because I used to play these albums at her place. Now she also passed. Thank you for making this Richard D James! I remember the moment I went to the back of the music store and searched for the most obscure energising out there music I could find. For some reason I stopped listening to this music and now I hear it again, I really like it!
the first track's melody hits me in a way i cant describe other than the best thing ive ever heard. not only is it an amazing melody, but the synth sound itself is so soothing and something ive been looking for in music all my life. i shouldve expected it to be on a project called Analogue Bubblebath

hard to believe Richard created the flowers that bloom in the warmth of sun that AND that they are there to be loved by everyone and he was only like 16 years old. truly genius.
This is still nothing short of amazing, some 25 years later. I had a friend at my teenage job that popped in "I Care Because You Do" one day and I was sold! This and Polygon Window are by far my favorite releases by the master known as Richard D. James! AFX2 always reminds me of the old 80's arcade game, Defender.
The last time his Dad whipped out his cheesy organ? Richard used his dictaphone the police. "Hello - i-i-is that the Porkers? This is Dick James. My dads gone super-freaky (Owww) 😊. Please send a pork-chopper and cram as many black truncheons in as you can, you buggers."
can't believe he created a timemachine, fought in both world wars to collect electronic parts off the battlefields, then built synths out of those and created this album in 5 picoseconds while smoking a joint and blasted on 20 tabs of LSD, before he went to middle school. unbelievable, if it weren't so well known you'd think someone made it up or something
i love this song so much. it always makes me feel happy, light, worry-free, like a pretty little bubble floating in someone's bathtub next to a big rubber ducky.
