If anyone is skeptical of the neck bridges, a great substitute would be getting a neck harness. That way you add however much weight you want

Bridges cause neck compression, which can easily lead to nerve damage which then leads to muscle atrophy. Avoid bridges if like your neck integrity.

I've seen many comments saying neck bridges are harmful. I looked it up, and the internet agrees. Is there a certain stretch or exercise to do after you do them? I am wrestler, so neck bridging is sometimes vital. We also have to do this in practice, and I can't just ignore coach. I would like to avoid injury, but occasionally bridge.

    • @dayoonman3264

Bridging is bad for the spine and so is using weighted harnesses. These methods are not recommended anymore, especially when younger and still developing in high school.

@@c.f9448 look at other methods where you hold a plate on your forehead, back of head, or side of head while laying on a bench and do curls that way.
Every wrestler I know has chronic neck pain, so you better be careful with how you train it since it damages easily. The neck muscles also grow quickly as well without putting so much pressure on the spine doing bridges.
