the problem is that it's really hard to make something that truly "feels" giant in minecraft, because no matter how big they are they still move like a normal sized creature, having to move up one block steps and turning around super fast the wither storm actually comes closest because it gets around the "stepping on each block" problem by just floating, and it's programmed tu turn around slowly instead of just snapping into place like other giant mobs lol
You know i was planning on making a giant robot boss mob in minecraft. I THOUGHT 100 blocks tall would be like... "too big" in some sense, but honestly this video actually helped me figure out how to make a giant mob look convincing. 1) SLOW - Make the mobs walking animation slow and small. If they aren't going to have a walking speed of like 30 blocks per second its gonna look odd. That being said it should probably move faster than the player *per step* but also be slower overall. Burst vs Sustained movement and all that. 2) ROTATION - put some kinda rotation speed cap on it or like... make a rotation animation so its not just the usual turning like how a villager does. A villager can realistically swivel around on the spot, but something as big as godzilla probably can't. 3) INTERACT DIFFERENTLY - have a different way of killing it than just mashing the attack button and stubbing its toe to death somehow. 4) COMBAT RANGE - this is more just something i thought up, but maybe make the boss attack you from like... a few hundred blocks away with a bunch of really slow long ranged attacks. The kind you can avoid easy if you're just being a little attentive 5) RENDERING + DETECTION - basically... the wither storm had the right idea. chuck distance be damned if somethings that big and wants you dead you should know where it is and how fast it's approaching
iirc the way the wither storm does the rendering is in a super clever way of basically just, keeping a smaller "clone" of itself within your render distance to make sure it always looks as if it's there in the distance I might be mistaken though as I only looked at how the mod worked while it was still really new and I'm definitely not the best when it comes to anything java, I mostly just debug mod crashes and that has made me have to learn it a bit to make compatibility patches
You really just have to make sure you always always keep in mind the scale of the world its in, as well as the tremendous weight it would realistically have. I recommend looking at videos of actual big things moving, and try to scale them up in your head. It would be great if Apatosaurus was still alive so you could just use that as reference footage, but dinosaur documentaries will probably work just as well. Another way to think about it, is the bigger something is, the more it appears to be affected by air resistance. The bigger you make something, the harder it has to fight to even push through the air, like a person in water. You also want to make sure the player can really feel the weight of these colossal creatures, and some great ways to do that that alot of mod makers completely forget about, is sound design and visual feedback. If you want to make something feel like its moving 1000 tons with each step, you have to make it sound like the ground is being hit by thousand tons with each step (unless you're designing a giant cat or a flying creature), and a method as old as the method itself, proximity based screen shake! Also just add a bunch of loud sounds in general, like the woosh of the air being smashed out of the way when the creature does anything slightly fast. Thats all my advice im willing to give for now, i wish you luck on your creation journey!
I got a few weapon ideas for your giga-robot: Earth-core sword : simply a gigant fiery sword that's deactivated when its on its back and can equip it for close-range or ranged combat Shoulder miniguns: miniguns that can aim left and right and it sprays bullets when it shoots AI Helicopter summon: Those are special helicopters with heat-seeking rockets and they get summoned from your giga-robot's back. @@coolstorm955 You should watch his videos on "The Strongest" you'll know just how big some of those guys are. The Transcended God literally traveled between two worlds that he created.
It’s a common theme in old minecraft. Nowadays, mods tend to stray away from godlike beings in exchange for immersion. There’s a lot of mods with enemies that can kill you in creative mode around 1.12.2 and below.
Before this video i used to think that the biggest mob in minecraft was the "ursa major" a monster of a discontinued mod called "mythical creatures" that thing were so big that the normal render distance couldn't let you see it
1:48 this mod doesn't even bring minecraft's biggest wither storm, for that you need to use the Engender mod. An old mod from like 1.12.2 that brought the witherstorm in to minecraft as a tamable pet. In order to get that witherstorm to it's biggest you need to use the command /entitydata @e {growth:10000000} Doing so will cause the wither storm's back to grow so big it fills the entire sky. You can't even see the entire thing when at max render distance. Also this wither storm is unkillable by conventional methods as making the growth 10 million makes it's HP 10 million. The only place where you can hit the monstrosity is the command block somewhere in the body.
@@SwitchyWitch_ well yes, but actually no, the command is meant to instantly increase the size of the storm, but the storm does grow on its own as it collects blocks. Just it takes quite some time to go from it's base hp of 300 all the way to 10 mil
Vanilla minecraft can still have some pretty big mobs. Theres the /attribute command to change a mob's scale up to 16x, and also Slimes, Magma Cubes, and Phantoms own seperate size tag. Imagine how big those can be if you combine the two modifiers.
I think the titans have their own healthbar separate from the regular one that the player and every other mob uses in vanilla minecraft so yeah its probably quantifiable
Bro just brings out a couple og mob mods and the wither storm, most of my childhood tbh. Plus using corruption, which is a banger of a terraria song. Did i time travel back to 2015, why is this so damn nostalgic.
In his search for others that may have lived he found those that even the gods feared, titans that towered over even the tallest of mountains, beings able to level galaxies. It was thought that they had all gone extinct, but in reality they had just gone to the deepest and darkest pits of the Earth to bide their time until something or someone cataclysmic enough came along to give them the chance to awaken.
3:44 I don’t know if I was hallucinating or not, but I saw a huge mouth at my house like it looked like it’s a very strong predator and I just threw a brick at it what are they called and did I accidentally killed it I don’t know. but maybe.
This video reminds me of the old challenge games popularmmos did and all the absolute titanic mobs they fought LMAO including most of the ones included in this video
once i was bored so i played with mods... and found a way to be bigger than extreme render distance with mod config... yes, you as a player but that stupid size pretty much cooked my computer so i couldn't even achieve max potential, i think i was only like 20% of the way there, maybe 10% of what i could achieve
These mobs can kill people in creative mode. You need a armor that I don’t even think is from the mod to survive in creative. Even the bedrock version of the mod they kill you in creative mode.
I expected to see the Ursa Major or Spikezilla from another mod I forgot the name; back when OreSpawn dominated the scene, because both dwarfed Mobzilla.
Starting to think that I have megalophobia. I say this because one of the things that gives me the heeby jeebies is the gargantuan leviathan from a mod for subnautica. Just imaging me being compared to its eyeball JUST SCARES ME. Its eyes are about the size of an average human. you will see what I mean if you look up "Gargantuan Leviathan". It's based off a skull that is found deep in the map.
Trevor henderson creations are truly megalophobia inducing, especially when it comes to the ones that are a good few kilometers tall, and the few that are a good few tens or hundreds of kilometers big Also, lightareoff is a good channel to see megalophobia things, and thalasophobia

4:01
3-1 /// ACT 1 CRESCENDO
BELLY OF THE BEAST
this'll probably be my last time putting The Strongest and The Titans into a vid btw
lol ya u have said titans and strongest 1 billion times
HOORAY! no offense
Yo arox do you know how the full model of ancient guardian look like? Im curious
Before this video i used to think that the biggest mob in minecraft was the "ursa major" a monster of a discontinued mod called "mythical creatures" that thing were so big that the normal render distance couldn't let you see it
2:11 bro said *”I’m not done with you yet.”*
Daym, if Pat and Jen was still making videos, they would have surely reviewed those mods.
I miss them.
They have
1:48 this mod doesn't even bring minecraft's biggest wither storm, for that you need to use the Engender mod.
I feel like this is the same as calling the slime the biggest mob since you can increase their size with commands
@@SwitchyWitch_ well yes, but actually no, the command is meant to instantly increase the size of the storm, but the storm does grow on its own as it collects blocks. Just it takes quite some time to go from it's base hp of 300 all the way to 10 mil
mild growth spurt
wait as a pet??? like its not hostile?
@@thisnameanothername2156 you can spawn both a hostile and pet version
Vanilla minecraft can still have some pretty big mobs. Theres the /attribute command to change a mob's scale up to 16x, and also Slimes, Magma Cubes, and Phantoms own seperate size tag. Imagine how big those can be if you combine the two modifiers.
Why does the corruption theme fit with the wither storm so well? The thunderstorm theme would fit aswell now that im thinking about it.
There's so much stuff about big bosses i'm surprised that nobody started a private military force
3:46 the nostalgia hit *REALLY* hard when I saw this mod in the video
Aww man, i was hoping Mythical Creatures was gonna be in this with the Ursa Major, Spikezilla and the Windigo
I love how he casually puts terraria music in the vid as if I wouldn't notice
1.9 sextillion health 🤣
Like is that even a quantifiable amount of health or is that just a fancy way of saying it doesn't take damage?
I think the titans have their own healthbar separate from the regular one that the player and every other mob uses in vanilla minecraft so yeah its probably quantifiable
4:58 bad to the bone
5:44 bro almost let it slip
4:07 yall remember the old videos about this mod
popularmmos
"The fear of large objects."
My mind went somewhere >:)
1:55 thats some minecraft story mode shi
It is from mcsm
I don't even doubt this guy is 6'9 he has the voice of Jolly Green Giant.
8:32
7-4 /// CLIMAX /// LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN ///
You're forgetting the GOAT, the OG, the Pig Meteor mod.
Also this mod is getting a remake
Just called pigzilla
When Boss health must be writen in exponential notation you know your fucked.
this channel is actually cool asf wow
5:54 Undertale "his theme"
Love it
The wither storm mod is absolutely an apocalyptic entity ☠️
The fact that the worm’s brain inside it’s body can slap the crap out of you is so funny for some reason
Bro just brings out a couple og mob mods and the wither storm, most of my childhood tbh. Plus using corruption, which is a banger of a terraria song. Did i time travel back to 2015, why is this so damn nostalgic.
Finally i waited for a video like this
In his search for others that may have lived he found those that even the gods feared, titans that towered over even the tallest of mountains, beings able to level galaxies. It was thought that they had all gone extinct, but in reality they had just gone to the deepest and darkest pits of the Earth to bide their time until something or someone cataclysmic enough came along to give them the chance to awaken.
Gydyeldargargyel no monogatari.
Take a shot every time he runs out of breath
at 2:19 I thought you were talking about modular bosses, but then right afterwards you DID talk about modular bosses and I felt complete again
Maybe there’s a chance that the moder Will continue working on the strongest and make it Actually playable
I remember these mods way back maybe 7-9 years ago, thanks for the nostalgia
3:44 I don’t know if I was hallucinating or not, but I saw a huge mouth at my house like it looked like it’s a very strong predator and I just threw a brick at it what are they called and did I accidentally killed it I don’t know. but maybe.
Huh.
imagine walking 3 miles and still seeing that thing looking at you
"One of the biggest Enderman I've ever seen"
Me: O-one of!?
Monumental Enderman: He means one of.
The thumbnail made me think this was a Sonic Frontiers video but I’m not complaining this is good
the witherstorm is 100% the coolest official minecraft enemy. fucking horrifying. fucking awesome. the best.
This video reminds me of the old challenge games popularmmos did and all the absolute titanic mobs they fought LMAO including most of the ones included in this video
In the old days, Ursa Major was the biggest mob
That poor sandworm worm has some serious intestinal parasites.
0:12 glad we only took it there
Agreed
No Diddy
You know what else is staggering?
@@Darktolight4me I’ll get the 🧴
@@Darktolight4me dont say it
once i was bored so i played with mods... and found a way to be bigger than extreme render distance with mod config... yes, you as a player
but that stupid size pretty much cooked my computer so i couldn't even achieve max potential, i think i was only like 20% of the way there, maybe 10% of what i could achieve
0:01 "Exists"
Me: *Oh.... Bro's a large object. Nah i'll become lego **_Proceeds to become a lego piece_*
Ursa Major and Spikezilla from Mythycal Creatures Mod were also kinda Huge
That mod is Insane!
Never knew someone can get this underrated
new sub btw
4:23 peak va
Agree 🔥
4:02 so, he's just Jabu Jabu.
“Oh, that’s just a juvenile.”
You're style of youtube reminds me of techno. Keep up the good work
8:50 is that the fisch music?????? 🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥
when reddoons sounded like technoblade, now Arox sounds like reddoons.
no matter how big, never as big as the big man himself
YO REAL DALEK UR FAMUS MEOW
So, are we just gonna ignore that the Ancient Guardian has 400 Googol HP?
4 trevigintillion hp is crazy
I wanna make a minecraft mod called "world eater" being a mutant zombie with a galaxy texture that is beyond the size of the world
The ender dragon literally gave me megalophobia as a kid so this is fitting
Phase 7 Wither Storm is actually the most scary since it moves slowly and you can see it in the horizon and the rumbling
1:09 what's the backround music?
Idk but I’ve heard it in a roblox game
It’s pig step from the nether update so yeah
I gotchu homie, either (theme that summons the evil cat) or (mewselbub) on Spotify
Little demonic grey cat
The thing I'm scared of most is Spiders. If they were made bigger, I'd be running for my life.
7:04 no one noticed the fact witherzilla killed him in literal creative mode?!
These mobs can kill people in creative mode. You need a armor that I don’t even think is from the mod to survive in creative. Even the bedrock version of the mod they kill you in creative mode.
Witherzilla also speaks directly to the player and can boot you out of your own world if I remember correctly
@@Delta_Quagsireok
"Or me and my STAGGERING 6'9" height"
i have megalophillia (a bit) also spoiler alert :
The largest mobs are slimes and magma cubes cause they can get infinite size (with commands).
Caseoh: How cute
I expected to see the Ursa Major or Spikezilla from another mod I forgot the name; back when OreSpawn dominated the scene, because both dwarfed Mobzilla.
Starting to think that I have megalophobia. I say this because one of the things that gives me the heeby jeebies is the gargantuan leviathan from a mod for subnautica. Just imaging me being compared to its eyeball JUST SCARES ME. Its eyes are about the size of an average human. you will see what I mean if you look up "Gargantuan Leviathan". It's based off a skull that is found deep in the map.
😬😬😬
SPEEK ENGLISH! I DO NOT SPEAK EMOJIS! YOU DINGLE NUT!
Ngl this vid makes me want a Shadow of The Colossus mod now. Like I'm not sure how standing on a living entity would work, but It'd be cool as hell.
but there is something EVEN BIGGER
the ego of the omnipotent tier bosses and witherzilla 😂
your mom*
Try The Ancient Elementals, a giant content mod totally not made by me
0:00 Megalovania
2:05 - where did that leaves block go?...
5:09 fun fact those aren't roaches those are TICKS and when they go in the blood(the red stuff) they get bigger and I think more powerful
0:10 at the front side?
Trevor henderson creations are truly megalophobia inducing, especially when it comes to the ones that are a good few kilometers tall, and the few that are a good few tens or hundreds of kilometers big
Also, lightareoff is a good channel to see megalophobia things, and thalasophobia
1:49 TERRARIA CORRUPTION THEME🔥🔥
A lot of these mobs bring back nostalgia
Its so nostalgic to see the mutant mobs mod back
4:34 “Hah! You hit like a radroach!”
Ah yes, the good old OreSpawn mod
