I bought some old school plastic cup holders for cars that fit to the inside between the car window and the door panel, then heated the plastic up with a heat gun and bent it to fit and snap on to the gunnel of my boat. They can be moved around depending where you are sitting. We pop them on and off as needed.
Thanks for this! Just remined me i need to order a new cup hold since my old plastic one broke on me last year. But its also from 1994 so it lasted a long time... Happy new year Wayne!
I have the first one you talked about and love it on my aluminum 14 footer. The suctions are not great at the bow where the bends are but the stern is straight and it held fine. Didnt like lack of movability so removed the suction cups and glued strong magnets to it and locations around the boat. Now they STICK really good. On my trihull, i put a flush mount scotty on the inside of the gunnel facing in and now i can use the cup holder and remove when done. Or my phone holder. Or camera mount, or anything else that works. Keeps everything clean and uncluttered till i need it
@@TJDST4 should post the files somewhere. Been looking for something I can just change dimensions on to get it to fit since I’m not good enough at cad yet to completely design my own
I use the Stanley mug( not huge one) my boat has a couple holders in the cockpit area and stem. I made a wood one for the bow seat near my minkota bow mount.

Very creative - and thrifty!

I bought a higher end version of the first item, screwed them to the deck...works great. Hold pliers, plugs, and soda cans.
I have a few cup holders that are designed for strollers that I use with my smaller boat and they work really great. They hold on super tight
Cool - Are they suction cup or do they clip on?

Sounds like you came up with a great solution!
I recently purchased a 3D printer. I am going to attempt my own design that fits my needs and my boat.
I have designed and 3D printed a whole bunch of parts for my boat.
That sounds like a fun winter project!
@@TJDST4 Thats great, the Bambu lab PS1 has been easy to use
@mikedrake5738 boat and house projects are caused me to learn Fusion360...after Tinkercad...

I have a 1542 War Eagle, it has the gunnel track system. I don't think any of those accessories will fit
They might offer their own
Like those War Eagles, I’m looking at that model. Need a jet drive for rivers and some shallow lakes I fish in.

Yeah they do. But MAN are they expensive
They make one that is a pole holder also not cheap tho
Do you ever fish out of your boats or just enjoy leisure outings?
I actually don’t fish but many of my friends do
