Hey man I love your content, and you're a fantastic trombonist. I really wish you weren't promoting content that featured kids blasting in each other's ears. I think you have a responsibility given your growing platform.
1) Sound pressure dissipates based on the distance squared, so any difference in distance between the bell and microphone will invalidate the results 2) All microphones have a difference in sensitivity for various frequencies, so the note being played should be the same. 3) Phone microphones aren't designed to pick up sounds that loud, so the readings are going to be inaccurate no matter what 4) Joshua probably just lost like 5% of his hearing in the top end and got mild tinnitus. Seriously, never play a brass instrument directly into someone's ear
Hey please don't do this in each other's ears. Even with earplugs that kind of noise can cause permanent damage at close proximities. Respectfully someone who has permanent tinnitus from playing Trombone.
SAME. I played in 4 ensembles for 7 years and now I need white noise to sleep, and have trouble understanding people sometimes. That really isn't funny
@@lucistired No it wouldnt. I've played in incredibly tight rooms wearing ear plugs and had a sousaphone blow in my face and it hurt like a mother fucker. Imagine a trommbone directly in your ear.
@@sol6700 then you weren't wearing good enough earplugs. Earplugs can mean anything from -8db to -35db. The latter would be overkill but the former wouldn't help a whole lot. You also have to account for exposure
What you do is you get a small bore trombone, you play and f, like not the low one or the high one, and you play it soft at first, but then you push your diaphragm up and then the small bore would cause it to play that fat sound, really brassy kinda and thats how you get it really loud
youtube is killing it with these low view recommendations lately. i like seeing these smaller channels again, it reminds me of youtube a decade ago. yall are making me miss band class. i used to play baritone/euphonium and it was a similar vibe in there. also loud trombones sound like elephant sounds lol.
In like 7 years this will be one of those videos that randomly gets recommended to everyone and gets millions of views
this is the exact comment i was looking for
Yes.
Lol true
I’m here for it
Ong I’m claiming that
The microphone doesn't pick up how loud they really are.
lol
When a bunch of middle/high school kids are left unsupervised....
Imagine wearing headphones and putting it on MAX volume 💀💀
My hears hurt seeing this,as a trombonist i always wear ear protection to avoid this
Wait till they find out the phone physically can't measure higher than that
him saying “I felt that go into my brain” was so raw
Yup, just some average band kids on a normal day...
Quietest trumpet player I’ve ever heard
trumpets players NEVER give up a chance to be loud (though, he is a tuba player too)
If I blasted in my directors face I would get cut from band immediately
The poor trumpet player
Is this what goes on in the low brass sectionals?
yes
Absolutely.
Yes
Yes
Yes
I must ask our trombone section to do this. They will probably tell me to get out of there because I am an unworthy bass clarinetist.
First guy started playing and my entire UA-cam crashed 💀
this is the most trombone energy video I've ever seen
How do y'all play high notes so loud 😭
_insert funny Trombone Champ joke here_
They just deafened a man as punishment
Louder Please
Collab for part 2? Show us how its done
I agree with Elton

As someone who plays trombone, tuba, and trumpet, I approve of this content.
What about the best horn
The baritone

Just wait till they see an HBCU trombone play to full volume. One only could probably play loud than the entire group. No shade btw.
As someone who plays trombone and can yell at 121 decibels, I bet I could get 120 on trombone easily
Hahahaha the BD at 3:02 "What are you guys doing"
"Nothing"
"I'm leaving" 😂😂😂
That last part sounded like a train
if you put two trombone bells together, so they play into each other, it produces the most god awful loud noise ive heard come from a brass instrument
Wait till you try making and playing a tromboon
kinda funny the trumpet cant go as loud as the trombone is. even the tuba cant beat 114 decibels. the clarinet is also in this catagory too.
im louder then everybody there
Using that decibel app I have exceeded 120

Trombone moment
You should include French Horns, euphoniums/baritones, mellophones, saxophones, etc.
5 trombone players, 1 trumpet player, who will win?
my hs band has 5 trumpets and like 15 trombones 😭💀
HBCU bands would destroy yall

This is weak but amazing. Probably not as loud as standing in front of a speaker on full volume but good
4:53 Almost Double Bb flat time
