The ball never touched the backboard or the rim, just went off the opponent's hand and Reese caught it. That supposedly gave her her 10th "rebound."

I don’t understand what’s the issue if you see someone about to break a record or extend as a team you help them. They do it in football all the time. Also it’s plenty games in when the fever was down almost 30 and Clark stayed in the game and continued to try to shoot 3’s . Most coaches would just pull the starters out but they pulled everyone except her on multiple occasions

In all sports, you play until the clock expires, regardless of the score. They do the same thing in the NBA and NFL, and nobody has anything to say about it. Yet, anytime it comes to Angel Reese, people want to pick up everything she does. She's not expanding anything because she's always been able to shoot jumpers, because she was a guard in High School. Most of you are new to watching women's college basketball, including the WNBA.

I don't see people crying over teams that are clearly losing a game while the other team continues to pile on the points. I've seen a college game where a player took a 3-point shot just before the buzzer, and nobody was on him. The commentators even stated you play until the clock shows zero because there's no rule saying a team has to run the clock out.

To me, stat-padding to break a record is pretty similar to stat-padding to extend a record. If you have a historic streak such as Reese's with the double-double streak imho you would want to keep that streak alive for as long as possible to try to make it unbreakable. So if you're okay with stat-padding to break the record, you should probably be okay with stat-padding to keep it going. Not trying to excuse her play by any means. That's just the way I see it.
