Everyone has a bad game, including CC. Both rookies have come off of the long college season, the college playoffs, and a hectic WNBA schedule. You don't have to hate one and like the other. We can like them both.
Look at CC's game on Sunday 6/2 against New York. It's not a very good stat line. And yet CC is my favorite WNBA player. Everyone, especially a rookie, will have an off game. Michael Jordan had off games. Larry Bird had off games. It happens to the best of them.

This a bad comment. Rodman is an exception to this rule. I saw the Bulls play a dozen times in person during their second three peat, and I was definitely going to see Jordan and Rodman as the primary two. Rodman was so much fun on defense and on the boards, true gamechanger that fans loved watching play.
Both Angel and Caitlin are both good players. But Angel is the same as many other boring players. WNBA has always been boring as hell. Caitlin brings the excitement and entertainment to the WNBA.
Anyone who shoots less than 40% on layups is going to have a lot of offense rebounds. She also has gotten her shot blocked more than any other player in the leauge, a lot of which end up back in her hands. You're right that the only argument she has is the streak. It's clear Reese knows that as well.
Reese got credited with 2 rebounds on her own blocked shots that barely got out of her hands and got nowhere near the basket.

The reason that there was even a streak is because of the intentional stat padding. She did it against the Lynx at about her 7th game and shouldn’t have had a double double. Then the Dream intentionally fouled her to send her to the line to get her points. Now this is the third game. She never broke the WNBA record because the streak never got to even double digits.

Reece got blocked and then grabbed the ball as her foot was on the line making a turnover. They called it a rebound for #10 in the final seconds. Her steak ended at 9, which is still good padding aside. The record is 12.
@@bobby12348 Luka averages 4 turn overs game but he produces most of the teams points with scoring and assist. You don't hear anyone talking about the turnovers. They both handle the ball the most. They both take risk in passing the ball. I can tell you that Magic and LBJ both had the same problem in their first season. It's not like the ball gets stolen from her. It from her passing and team not ready to get the pass. in the last week she been getting double digits in assist because the team has developed chemistry. a Rookie point guard is going to get a lot of turnovers. When I was a point guard in college. 90% of my turn overs were from my team mate not understanding passing lanes and I was forced to pass it off or get a 3 second violation either way it's a turnover on me. Or them stopping early when I did a leading pass and they stop early and I thrown out of bounds. You have to see the eyes of your target before you setup the pass or play so long they know the queue for a blind pass.
Double doubles are not rare, there have been more than 4000 double doubles in WNBA history, and the vast majority are by centers and forwards, because they are under the basket to score or rebound, so although Angel's are consecutive it's not that impressive. Double doubles with assists however are rarer and mean more because assists mean points were scored. Triple doubles have only happened 35 time in WNBA history, and never by a rookie until Clark, and she was one rebound shy of a triple in a previous game. Now that is impressive. So, there's really no contest here.

I believe they helped her get the record as well. Her whole season needs to be reviewed. I even think Aja slacked off on rebounding just for Reece to pass her. Also Aka for 5 seasons or so was averageing just over 20pts. 20-22.
Clark was averageing 18 plus early in the season. Now all of a sudden Aja is taking the most shots of her career. I don't think that's a coincidence...and I think other teams are helping her. In tonight's game against the Liberty, Reese had 4 offensive rebounds off her own misses. She shot less than 30% from the field and ended with just 10 points. When you throw up 17 shots, mostly from under you own basket, and you come away with 10 points, and 10 rebounds, that's not record breaking that's pathetic.
The notion that Reese's Double/Doubles are somehow groundbreaking is debunked by the fact that she was not the only player on her team to achieve a Double/Double tonight and they still lost. In fact, there were actually 3 players that had double-digit points and double-digit rebounds. No one ever cared about a points/rebound Double/Double until the league needed a reason to promote someone besides Caitlin Clark. If Clark were butch or black, the WNBA and their media cronies wouldn't give Angel Reese the time of day.
Cc gets all of the attention and credit being white, and we don't know her sexuality. What are you crying about?

I watched the Chicago and New York game, this evening. Watching Reese get another double/double to extend the record. As a new WNBA follower the performance was kinda boring to watch. Don’t see how special it is for a 6’3” post player with jumping ability not being able to get 10/10 almost every game played. Reese lives under the rim and in the paint on most of the team’s defensive postures, and as much time in and out of the paint when on the offense. Most games I’ve been watching where guards get 6 or more rebounds per game kinda makes a post player obtaining 10/10 not that remarkable. Just my opinion, nothing more.

Give Reese the Prom Queen vote and cheap tiara. Clark has already revolutionized the league, and they don't know it. A million girls have seen that skill, humility, team work, charity, and perseverance are the qualities that raise sport and character.
ROY should take into consideration a team's improvement or regression when considering the award. Just looking at 2023 and 2024 team records, sky finished 18-22 in 2023. Fever finished 13-27 in 2023. Clearly , Clark has given a boon to her team, and Reese hasnt affected the Sky's at all. Clark is the obvious ROY this year. It is as clear as the nose on your face. Reese doesnt even make a blip on her team's performance over last year. Sky attendance in the 2023 and 2024 seasons are very close to each other in averages. The Fever has been involved in record attendances throughout the season, all due to the "Clark-effect"

If Skip Brainless wanted to disqualify Caitlin Clark's assist, because of turn over, he needs to disqualify the turn over too. He can't use turnovers to disqualify her assist and still leave the turnover in place and disqualify just the assist. Skip Brainless doesn't always knows what he is talking about.

Shes just playing for Individual records not the team W's. The difference is, Clark wants to win games, reese just playing for ROTY honors, and Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if Clark wins ROTY and says, "Give it to Reese, thats all she cares about."

People seem to be overlooking the fact that Clark has the ball in her hands ~3 times as much as Reese does. Caitlin brings the ball up the court and initiates the offense much of the time as well. If people want to detract from her assists by reducing that number by the number of her turnovers, then they should credit the assists as being more valuable because they ALWAYS lead to at least 2 points each. Reese averages less than 2 APG. Not passing the ball will certainly reduce your number of turnovers.

That happened the other night. Checked box score, she was short, over an hour later one was added. Someone said she got a late one and it took them awhile to add it but can't find it in the written play by play for the game. Geesh this is a professional league, local high school keep better stats with volunteers.

Literally 3 minutes left in game she has 7 rebounds. She try’s a layup 3 times and misses, but got two of them back. Now she has 9. Last rebound it was a complete air ball by the shooter no where near basket went passed basket on other side where she happened to be standing. They gave her another rebound and then took out of game. 10 points 10 rebounds. This definitely goes to show they just want to keep record going anyway they can. She should of had 5 rebounds.
For years the WNBA was ignored by the masses. Now the masses are watching one single player. The other players that have been playing are still being ignored by the masses. This is pissing off the players, the coaches, the administrators of the league. So they have banded together to go after her as a group - a total group effort.
The WNBA is constantly posting about the wonderful play of Angel Reese with her consecutive double doubles, (a WNBA made up record just recently) while ignoring all of the other players getting double doubles and Catlin's triple double. This is to serve one purpose, to take the focus of the masses off of Caitlin Clark. These efforts have failed and has only increased Catlin's popularity.
Today in the Sky loss to the Liberty thank God. Reese got four lay ups and four rebounds off those layups. So incredibly pathetic.

Reese is good but jesus, she was completely outclassed by NYs bigs today. She sucked and it was clear she was in only to chase those stats after her start . Cardoso should’ve been in longer with Izzy, their spacing worked well, and the sky were able to build good tempo on offense. Died in the 3rd when cardoso checked out and never came back until garbage time.

Never cared for Reese, never watched her play, but of course also have no hate. So when she hit Chicago I said okay, let me put in the time and watch her game.........Are you kidding me?!?!
