- One of the best prime lenses for the Panasonic GH5 is the Zhongyi Mitakon 25mm f0.95. It's super small but super fast for great GH5 depth of field and low light performance. Not very many people talk about this lens but it's great for GH5 video.

My SLR Magic 25mm .95 is my favorite lens by far.Also the focus and aperture gears fit perfectly on my servo on the crane 2s!!!
I got one of these way back when I was first experimenting with a G7. It was a way to get full-frame DOF performance without spending gut-wrenching amounts of money. I remember some years back a certain well-known "influencer" was pretty dismissive of it, is one thing, and also frankly IMHO there's this weird thing in the gear-junkie world where if something has a few weaknesses it's deemed garbage and not discussed in polite gear junkie circles. I was broke for years and used kit lenses for every damn thing and had some reasonable success with it, so that's not my attitude. To my mind it's a great little sleeper of a lens. I've been planning to do some stock-type B-roll as a winter project, just to see how striking and interesting I can get a ceramic bowl or a Japanese teapot to look, and this guy should be perfect for it. So thanks for giving it some love so that other shooters with eyes to see can benefit.

Some of my favorite still images ever, I’ve taken with this lens. Definitely going to repurchase it for my GX85. Your footage with it is stunning.
I really like these lenses. If you don’t like the size you should switch it out for the cine version…

I only have fully manual rokinon lenses, so this interests me. Sometimes the magenta halo gets in the way and I have to stop down a tiny bit to get around it.Thanks for showcasing it! I also have tiny hands so maybe it being small won't matter
For my money the best GH5 lens is the Leica 42.5mm it is my go to interview lens. Not cheap though.

Awesome video! I’ve been considering the Mitakon Cinema Lens set because T1, they’re full manual, and they’re fairly adorable. I might be able to get the set later this year, so here’s to hoping!
It's cheap, works for some.. But once you put Olympus 25mm f1.2 on any M43 it's heaven (sharp and the emotion of the image). even Canon or Nikon can-not compare.. This Oly was made for GH5 !!!! Just try it please (review it for this crowd - Thanks)
This looks like a good lens to add for that bokeh effect on the GH5. Thank you for the heads up on the 43mm lens thread size for the ND filter.

Maybe try the TT artisan Line 23,17,35,50 fast best lens for MFT under 100$ each I own all of them...some have a terrible focus breathing but it can be avoid and fast as hell...most of them has 1.2-1.4 so usable even wide open...yours Fil
Dude I have it since it was released first month. Then I also bought their 17mm new one.
25 is a gk killer and like my reason to stay on M4/3 train. There is a big lens flare with this one, but I worked with it for food videography and product reviews. And it's a really good one at it. And it's flaring is really big that it it's artistic. Those are the sweet lenses for a M4/3 that people should have along their 18-35 1.8 sigma. I wanted to get s5 but those lenses make me think twice. Full frame is an other step but when you got those lenses , this is actually something to think about.
I do think this one is great for slow Mo b-roll , and in food videography I create so much outside of this lenses thanks to some 1 € LEDs Christmas light in background.
Nice video Caleb. Did you change something with your color grade? This particular video had a very filmic quality, great colors. Love the bokeh of the mitakon. Reminds me of the Helios.
0.95 man... This is imoressive I have never Heard about this one. A fully manual Lens has it's own Charme :) It seems this Lens is very good. Most of these ultra Fans Lenses have Chromatic aberation. The #Gh5 is such a great Camera.
Maybe this Lens is something for my Girlfriends Camera she has the Lumix GX81. Also Good Price. O. O thanks for this great Video.

But I would want the cine version, and those are a little pricey. I think if I return the 7artisans cine lens (which I think i will) I will probably pick up a Mitikon cine lens. The 17 may be the one to go with
Total agree. I have it with my g9. Was able to find it used from B&H for $300. I want to pick up the 35mm next.
it's not better than the Voigtlander 10.5mm f0.95, although the mitakon is much cheaper lol

What’s infinity focus means? And does this lens achieves it when paired with a GH5? I’m assuming infinity focus is like focusing full sensor area even at f 0.95 ? 🤔
i have the lumix 24mm f1.8 and it is the by far the best lens with my GH5 with autofocus. i'm curious how the mitakon does with AF

Its perfect. Because its a fully DIY lens and I've never met a photographer who ever does it wrong. So it must be perfect.

Hi Caleb. I switched my GH5 over to use the 180d shutter angle but on my display screen it shows as 11d instead of 180d like I see everywhere else. Am I doing something wrong or is my camera jacked?

Hi ! If someone can help me I did not find the reply nowhere , I am a little bit disappointed tonight. Just received my Zhongyi 25mm f0.95 tonight for my gh5, and it happened 2 curious things : the aperture always remains (on the tiltable screen) on f.0 even if I turn manually the aperture ring (0.95, 2, 4, 8 etc.), do you experience the same ? Secondly, the PIP or FULL focus zoom visualisation does not work anymore, so it’s difficult to see if my focus is correct or not… Hope someone can help me.
