    As also a Lumix Videographer (Wedding/Events), my go-to lenses are the Oly 12-40 Pro, a speed-boosted Sigma 105 2.8 Macro, and a Yongnuo 45 1.8 (needed a mid range prime and I got intrigued by the price--$100 brand new so I bought it). They cover wide, mid and tele. When I was starting out, the Oly 12-50 Macro kitlens was an awesome budget alternative, it basically had somewhat covered all the focal length I needed, plus it's weather-sealed. If you're new to the system, I highly recommend the kitlens. If you're getting serious, I highly suggest investing on some Pro Lenses from Olympus, I think they make better quality lenses compared to Panasonic (I'd even say they make the best quality lenses in the market).

    My favorite lens for the Gh5 is the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4. Great versatile zoom lens so I can avoid lens swaps, and with the viltrox speedbooster 0.71x it turns it into a 2-2.8 which is great for lowlight. It also has OSS which is super cool.

    Stumbled upon this while searching for GH5 zoom lenses, nice video! I have a question please... I will be acquiring a GH5 very soon and understand you have to manually enter the focal range in mm in order to use the IBIS (if you use non-native lenses), I hope I got this right... so how do you enter the value for the 18-35 Sigma lens since it's variable? I also have this lens and am wondering how to deal with that. Primes are easier since there's only one number to enter. Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

Right now I’m running a viltrox.71 speed booster and Yongnuo 50mm 1.5f ...been my favorite lens pair lately. I have the 25mm LUMIX 1.7 as well and the LUMIX 45-200mm. @@CalebHoover so i can zoom while recording? How does the focal lenght of the lens translate to zoom times? I own lumix fz82. It jas an optical zoom up to 60x and yet it is not that huge long lens as i see on some reporters. If you could do a tutorial or a review on lenses with zoom ( along with example videos) that'd be great. Keep up the good work.

    Hey digging the keyword search titling. That working good for you? Digging the gh5 ,18-35 is a whale, wasn’t a huge fan. But I’m not into zooms. Good content bro! Subbed!

      thanks for checking it out! yeah trying some different titles to see what might work. kinda new to this youtube thing 😂 what kind of primes are you using? i’d like some input on those cuz i’m mostly using zooms cuz they work best for the type of client work i do but i’m highly interested in the voigtlanders

      Caleb Hoover What kind of work you do? Man I rigged this fujinon b4 super zoom with servo thumb controller.. gh5 is now a legit eng camera with crazy parfocal zoom lens it’s crazy! Yeah I only use three lens primarily. Voit 25mm, sigma 16mm,, rokinon 12mm. Rokinon is probably most used. I’m new as well and trying that as well , can’t hurt right?!

      @@scott.skates i work with a lot of non-profits as well as manufacturing. takes on more of a corporate storytelling vibe. those are some great lens choices! I just sold some rokinon cinema lenses and I'm kind of regretting getting rid of the 24mm. 😂

      Caleb Hoover Oh that’s dope! How do you find non-profits to work with? I’m mostly doing brand sizzle and storytelling. I do use my girls Canon 85mm w/speedbooster for b-cam on the motion slider for interviews. F1.3 on the G7 and Atomos shogun. Pretty sweet combo there. Rented the 18-35mm but I think I’m passing on it but going with the Voit 10.5mm. It’s a beast!

    • @CalebHoover
      @CalebHoover  4 роки тому +1

      that sounds like a great combo! yeah non-profits are fun to work with because they really like the storytelling aspect in their videos. i’ve just known a lot of people in the non profit world i guess and that helps in making videos for them. it might help that i chop my prices in half for non profits as well.
