      Thank you very much and you are more than welcome my friend. The 1.4 update will be dropping soon including...you guessed it! Another grid mode. So, I will be mentioning it in this week's upcoming video. Have fun with it, to this day, using grids is one of my favorite things to do in Inkscape 😁

    I loved engineering drawing in my days, and I am so surprised I hadn't tried this view in Illustrator or Inkscape, till today. This is addictive, like Lego blocks. Thank you! BTW, I don't like the UI of Inkscape (1.3.2 in 2024) so much (I've done a bit of Illustrator in the past, maybe that's why). Is there any other vector software (open-source) you can suggest?

    • @ButtonPressGraphics
      @ButtonPressGraphics  3 місяці тому +1

      To be fair to you, I know a lot of people that share the same view regarding the UI in Inkscape. You can go to Edit> Preferences in Inkscape to change the theme, however I know that the devs are looking into the UI to make it look better. With that said, when it comes to open--source software, Inkscape is by far the best so I cannot suggest any others that would be up to the same par. As a previous Illustrator user, I understand what you mean though.
      When it comes to using the Axonometric Grids, you 100% correct. I find it so fun too. Whenever I want to create something just for myself, I often find myself using the grids. Remember, if you want to send in any of your work (Regardless to the software you used to create it), send them in & I will happily feature them on the channel. Artists are better together, no matter what medium or software they use & I never get bored of seeing what others create #StayCreative

      @@ButtonPressGraphics Thank you for your reply. I've seen Inkscape improve in the last few years, and I am seeing some really good work done in it these days, so am fine with it.I will work more on it in future, and of course keep coming back to your videos.

      @@aalaptube I thank you for your support my friend. I really do appreciate it. I have also been using Inkscape for quite a while now & have to admit that one of the reasons I love using the app is because of how they listen to the creators & regularly update in accordance with the feedback. I believe that Inkscape will become far better as time goes on. The industry standard will always be Illustrator but I cannot justify spending so much on the Creative Suite for simply using 2 0r 3 of the apps otherwise I would. There is more content on the way & now my channel is getting close to covering all of the basics, I will be slowly moving on to making more advanced tutorials so watch this space. Thanks again my friend.

    how export guides to pdf?

    • @ButtonPressGraphics
      @ButtonPressGraphics  3 місяці тому +2

      That all depends on what you want to export my friend. Guides/Grids are used exactly like their namesake - as guides. Therefore, they do not show up on the exported image.
      There are ways to export the grid/guide lines along with the image if that is what you mean?
      As for PDF, you can export as a PDF file from the drop down menu within the Export menu. However, you cannot render a multi-page PDF so you will have to render the separate pages then merge them using a 3rd party app like PDFSam.
      Hope this helps

      @@ButtonPressGraphics I want to export the guide lines (rulers) combined with the image on the page to pdf format

    • @ButtonPressGraphics
      @ButtonPressGraphics  3 місяці тому +1

      @@alexandr-spb In that case, there are two options available to you.
      1, You can use the Bezier Pen tool to create the lines yourself and then layer the image on top. Snapping (in the top right corner) will help with this but because you have to create the lines yourself, it can be tedious.
      or
      2, Go to Extensions > Render > Grids. Choose the grid you need and set the parameters to what you would like. This will give you a Object Grid that you can snap to like any other but will also be rendered when you export the file
