Another lovely podcast! ❤ We missed you! I have been knitting socks like Jamie for a few years now. I learned how to knit socks two at a time on one long circular needle but hated how long it took! It felt like forever to and when it came to the heel flaps and gussets, I always made some kind of error. So knitting them section by section concurrently is my favorite way. It also helps with yarn management if you are using leftovers or minis, because if the yarn doesn't go as far as you think it will, you can still get them to match by adding in another color at the same place in each sock. 😊
that was a wonderful, full-packed and fun podcast. My prayers to your in-laws for a bright recovery, getting stronger as they can. And, Blessings to you to be the helping daughter-in-law you are and to your husband for being a wonderful son. love, hugs, prayers until next time.
Missed you last week! So Very Happy to see you back!😊 I have always knit my socks 2 at a time on 9 inch circulars… simply because I know me… I would never knit the second! It also helps with always being able to work on them going back and forth, say if one is on the heel and other on the foot (It is harder to knit a heel if I am constantly interrupted, but a leg or foot I can put down and pick up)…AND it helps me to knit them up the SAME! So I always split the skein into 2 balls and cast on 2 socks!😊 have a great week!
Love your vest! Loved Janie's story! I would like to try doing socks that way also! So sorry for the stressful week you had! Prayers they stay well! God Bless your week!
You were so missed last week. I did worry something was wrong. I did not think to look on your website. Sorry for all the troubles to your in-laws. Hope their lives get back to their normal. I am by no means an expert in sock knitting 😳 I am an expert on how I work. The decision to work two at a time socks was made long before I ever even cast on my first pair. I use two 9 inch circulars. This keeps me from feeling like “I have to do that all over again 🥴‼️” I absolutely love your “Bolero”! I think it looks very nice on you. Great job💕 Thank you for your video every week. Just makes my week. See you next time. Have a good one👋🏻
Devi I am so happy to hear your father in law is now on the mend and your quick work getting your mail room ready for your mother-in-law. You have a generous spirit and so does Charlotte. Prays for peace and healing
I saw the community post about there not being a podcast last week. I am so enjoying the yarn advent. I am opening it up in reverse order and knitting the Knitvent Anthology Throw by Helen Stewart. I will share a picture when I am finished. I only have 8 days left. I started early because I knew I wouldn’t be able to knit a 20 g skein a day. It is turning out beautiful! Thank you for such generous yarns.
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and let you know I really enjoy your program. I am also so glad to hear someone else say that about the TV programs nowadays on all stations. If I come across any, that’s viewable, I’ll let you know.
You never need to apologize for putting family first! It just causes me to admire and respect you more. As my parents are aging (91 and 87) I am willing to inconvenience my routines and life to prioritize being with them and helping them. When the Lord should call them home, my husband and I can then grieve out of love unencumbered by regret for the “I should haves”.
Wow you had a crazy week. I hope things settle down somewhat for you. I too like to knit socks concurrently as Janie described, as opposed to consecutively…which can lead to the dreaded Second Sock Syndrome. I tried two-at-a-time and it drove me nuts, always untangling the yarns. The only slight downside to consecutive is of course you have to have two of the same needle size to do it, unless you want to put the sock you’re not working on waste yarn.
That is what I have been doing cuff, cuff, leg, leg, heal, heal and so on. So I can keep track of color and so I will finish them and have a pair and not forget and move on to something else. I did not make the sock - a - log for the year with you. So, I will just knit along anyway by myself I have some of your sock yarn and I’ve got other sock yarn so I have plenty. I believe I can buy more of. I need to whatever I’m not gonna be too depressed about it. I’m just gonna keep going.
I saw your post on you tube about no podcast. Don't feel bad for prioritising yourself and family. We had a period a while ago where all four of my husband and my parents needed our help. Unfortunately none of them are no longer with us.

Hello from Swansea, Illinois. ❤❤❤❤❤ I knit my socks in tandem that way I finish them around the same time.

We liked silo, but haven't kept up with the new season yet. Lots of trash on Apple TV, but they have Snoopy specials.
Longer would be better for the best. But it’s cute.
I got some Lee’s book I was already but that’s OK. I’ll just knit socks out of her book.
