LOL I can completely appreciate your explanation on the ribbing on the red sweater. Makes sense to me!! What a beautiful story. I also have a rainbow baby; I lost two babies, and then had three, and they mean the world to me! I know I appreciated them more than I would have if I hadn't gone through the loss. I was part of a group that knitted some small blankets for a charity that gives them to families who've lost a child. It is something to touch and hold. Maybe someone knows the name of that organization, I can't remember it.

I am a lefty. The woman who taught me was a righty and that is how I learned to knit and have never given it a thought. Perhaps because there are other things that I do right handed……bat and golf. So I guess I am somewhat ambidextrous.

Interesting note about lefties. Both my sons write lefty but play sports righty. By God's Providence this has served them well. My youngest is a Recon sniper & shoots right handed, a plus for training. My oldest was diagnosed with a glioblastoma tumor in 2023. As he approached surgery to remove it the Drs did brain mapping of his critical functions. It turns out that because of his true ambidextrous brain, new pathways for function we're intact & he came out of surgery with complete neuro function. God is good!!! 💚

Thank you for sharing my story this week! It has been floating around in my head for a few months and this was the push to write it down. As per your email, your snuggles were delivered to the baby as we watched the podcast today. As a leftie, no offense was taken at your comments. I was taught by a right handed knitter who initially was worried about my left-handedness, but I told her to just teach me exactly how she knit and I would see if I could catch on. Just as you said, knitting takes 2 hands and I figured it out, no need to mirror anything. :)

What a beautiful story! My daughter was double rainbow baby as well and then we were blessed with my son who was born with many medical issues and special needs. I can attest that it was my faith and the support of a wonderful community that got us through.....and being able to knit items with love was blessing through it all as well.

Spring is my favourite season. I love the signs of hope. We are just going into spring. Lots of blossom and spring flowers. Here in NZ we consider the first of September the first day of Spring.

I’m left handed and had no issue learning right handed crochet or knit. I chose to do that because patterns are limited to leftys. My biggest issue was changing from crochet to knit 😵‍💫

I broke my right hand in two places two weeks ago. So, no knitting for now 😢Believe me I tried! I can attest to using your non-dominant hand. It’s so hard at first, but the more you use it the less awkward it becomes. I’ll be a pro after six weeks 😂

I can knit right handed. But there is NO WAY my right hand could crochet. The small muscle function just isn’t there. The right hand is great for opening stuck jars and windows 😊

Having lost a son in 1998, (26 weeks)it is the strength of our Savior that gets us through. As the women and the vessel that held, nurtured and was tasked wth keeping them safe, you blame yourself and wonder what you could have done or not done to still be holding your little one. I totally don`t know what I would have done without Jesus and HIS strength and gentle arms wrapped around me. I always think of the poem Footprints, because it truly was then that he carried me.

Devin, you are handling the first one heading to college with so much strength! My first one is a year out of high school and is still living with us while he is attending flight school about an hour away. I’m so glad he’s home for a little while longer, as he has come to love spending time with us again after some ornery teen years at the end of high school. My daughter has two years left in high school and I’m dreading not having her around.

Your videos are different from others

I have to agree with another viewer, Fall is my next to most hated season. Winter is the most hated. Fall just reminds me of what’s to come and it’s hard for me to enjoy. I’m definitely a Summer gal. We have a lovely in ground pool that I’m in every day, so the Fall reminds me that my swimming time is coming to an end. My children are grown and married but when we first separated it was the hardest part of being a Mom. I’m enjoying grandchildren now but those early days still haunt me. It’s so hard to let them go.

Regarding right vs. left hand knitting, I taught beginning knitting for several years at my LYS and this was my standard response: both hands have a lot to learn and being right or left handed is not an issue. RH and LH people both learn English/throwing and continental/picking; it's really about how you're taught. If you start thinking of it as a right handed activity and learn it "backward", you will be destined to reworking non-symmetrical patterns (ie. decreases, and colorwork with words) for the rest of your life. The only exception I made was for people who were not true beginners and had already learned left-handed. Then I would have them sit with my friend Susan; she had learned knitting by sitting across from and mirroring her grandmother. She is a true left-handed knitter. And she often has to modify her patterns.

Your sweater is REALLY cute. If I remember correctly, the bottom cuff is twisted rib. It looks like the sleeve cuff is not but maybe I am crazy. So if that is the case, I am wondering which way you went with the neck rib? And I was going to ask what sweater you're wearing but JUST then, you said it was the Watership. I love it!

So glad that your daughter is settled in college and that term has started well for the 2 at school. Your jumper is superb and will be cosy and comfortable for the winter. 🇬🇧
