I met Ohara, Bob Wall, at the Arnold Fitness Expo and hung out with him since we had a martial arts booth. He also signed a picture to me with Bruce and him standing side by side.
You mentioned in the video how he was reading his opponent like a book. I was going to say “remember… you are watching factionalized choreography” but you are essentially correct. Bruce used to call it “intercepting the intentions” of his opponents, but all he really meant was he was very good at reading physical tells in people’s stances. If you see your opponent cocking their hips and shoulders a certain way, maybe you can tell that they’re about to launch a spinning back kick, for example. He had a very strong intuition about the human body and movement, and it could make him seem even faster because he could predict.
Have you ever noticed how every time someone gets killed or seriously hurt, there’s broken glass nearby? His sister, Jim Kelly in Ohara’s office (and I think Kelly even crushes a champagne glass when he lands in the lap of one of the partying chicks in the next room) and of course the hall of mirrors at the end…
What Bruce Lee does is ... takes his left hand, slaps down O'Hara's lead hand and punch's him with his right hand... All in one fluid motion..Pak Sau...

Bruce could punch in 0.3 of a second. He was so fast that in many cases they had to slow the film down to actually see the action. In the final move where Bruce jumps his feet land on the rib cage. The back of the ribs snap off, break off from the front sternum, and then the ribs curve inwards and go straight through the heart. Instant death. Nasty.
Object lesson "Ego gets you killed". Oh and it was Bruce's character intent to kill O'hara in revenge for murdering his sister portrayed by the beautiful and deadly Angela Mao Ying. That's why in Enter the Dragon at the cemetary he begs the spirits of his parents and sister to forgive for what he was going to do after learning the truth about what happened to her. Be safe and great reaction.
I met Robert Wall a few years ago awesome gentleman we had a good conversation about his martial arts in films and of course Bruce Lee. He told me there were guys constantly challenging Bruce and he would beat them up, plus in this scene when Bruce kicked him he was wearing a thick pad and when he took it off the next day there was a black, blue and purple mark going across his chest. When he fell backwards the force of Bruce’s kick caused him to break the arm of the man behind him.
That's crazy! Bruce truly was one of a kind. To be able to generate that kind of force even with a pad is pretty impressive especially knowing Bruce probably took off a lot of power.
One thing most people miss on those opening stand-offs [unless you slow the film way down] is that Bruce disarms O'Hara with his free hand before going in for the head shot with that lead hand.
For years, I never even noticed that. He was so quick I couldn’t see it. Then I slowed the original video down to quarter speed and I could see it. It makes it even more impressive!
When you fight angry you fight blind. Like how Ohara forgot who he was fighting and he over committed every movement. Forgot to defend himself properly and got wreck.
Bob didnt suffer broken ribs but the guy behind him broke an arm. If youll notice that the kick was cinematic, its somekind of a shove no impact as compared to 'way of the dragon also with Bob Wall.
I appreciate that my friend! I just subbed to you as well!! We definitely have to do some collabs one of these days! Maybe have some Martial Arts talk!

100% correct! Fighting angry does blind you. It crushes your ability to analyze yourself and the opponent. The over commitment was definitely there.
watch it in slow motion.
