    Oh man, Friday, I really wanted an egg salad sandwich and I was just obsessing about it and I was like, 'Man, I'm gonna make one of those.' So Saturday, I went out and got, like, a dozen eggs and then I boiled them all and I just, I spent, I dunno, probably three hours, like three and a half hours making, you know, the mayonnaise, and the onions and paprika and, you know, the necessary accoutrement. And then, by the time I was done, I didn't really feel like like eating it.

      WTF! Now, I'm on of the THE slowest cooks on the planet, but I cannot for life of me figure out how you took 3 or more hours to cook egg salad! Even if you ACTUALLY made mayo from scratch it would not take that long to make egg salad. What the hell were you doing?

      ParkyRich How could you possibly have spent 3 hours? Even if you made the mayonnaise from scratch, and ground The Mustard Seed yourself, boiling the eggs takes 10 minutes, peeling them and chopping them takes another 15 or 20 minutes total at most, the rest of the prep if you're going very slowly could take another 15 minutes tops. How could you have spent 3 hours?

    Great idea on the horseradish- never thought of that. I usually use mayo, brown mustard (i'll try dijon), parika, seasoned salt and pepper, and dried dill if i have it. Good idea on the celery and leaves- i will definitely try that. Maybe some finely diced sweet onion. Good recipes always get me thinking

    Japanese Mayo is a secret weapon for anything like this. Tuna salad, egg salad, you name it.

    Solid cook on the egg. Pretty good seasonings on the salad, extra points for seasoning the tomato and cucumber. -1 for the weak fade. 8/10.

      He doesn't know what he's doing. Onion, Horseradish and Celery do not belong anywhere near an egg salad. He should use a dry mustard, just changing the mustard for the sake of change isn't always the best thing to do either. It's just all wrong. He missed one very KEY ingredient.....fresh parsley. a must. He needs to back to school

    Yup, Just tried this recipes. Thanks for the idea of 8 mins chunky egg instead of mushy eggs. Its taste amazing refreshing without onions. Totally a game changer.

    A tip for those who use dill-> use a ceramic knife or your fingers to cut/tear it. When dill is exposed to the metal it browns

      The odor of onion lingers as opposed to horseradish, which has bite and heat but not too much in the way of longevity on the palate.
      Personally I like onion, shallots and chives in egg salad. But a lot of people out there don't want onion breath!

    This egg salad is everything I've ever dreamed of! I literally use The same exact recipe down to The sesame bagel. The only thing I do differently is whip the yolks to enhance the mayo and mustard, adds a ton of body to the dressing. Love this.

    This looks pretty good though! I like my eggs more finely chopped though, so I actually put mine through my egg slicer in alternating directions. You get more of a "mince" that way. I just like it better. I've never used chive though, I'll have to try that too.

    I boiled eggs your way for 1st time.....Perfect...never heard of that method before....saved heating fuel and time...My recipe varied a bit from yours (suited to my taste)...I was so satisfied.....Took me all of 10 minutes from peeling eggs, mixing in mayo, garlic salt and a tad of mustard..... to spreading on sandwich.......and enjoying........Thank you Adam...JRZ

    I never understood the ice-bath because it is a waste of time, and a waste of ice. Cool water is fine enough. Several videos say ice-bath, but just forget about that part.

    It's so funny, every recipe that calls for boiled eggs spends half the time saying how to do it, with as many opinions on the subject as there are chefs/cooks.
    I don't boil mine at all, I steam them in a large vegetable steamer. Bring the steamer water to a boil before lowering the covered tray into place. Steam for 12-13 minutes, then immerse in cool tap water (dribbling to keep cool) for 6 minutes before peeling. No ice, no boiling eggs. Peel great.
    And, if you've read this, you've heard yet another person's way of cooking eggs in the shell. Hard to call them hard-boiled...well, there is boiling water involved. I find it odd that I seem to be the only person on Earth who does it this way, it works so well.

      I would probably use my Hot Hungarian Paprika. (I tried Smoked - and it's awful) As for this recipe - not sure about the eggs with not fully cooked yolks. I save that for poached and fried basted.

    I hate celery in egg salad, so I really like to make my egg salad with sweet pickle relish. It adds that same crunch factor but the sweetness really helps balance the creamy richness of the mayo and egg yolk. I'm not too sure how it would pair with the horseradish, but I'm not a big fan of horsey anyway

    Leaving eggs to cook after turning off the heat relies on how many eggs and how much water you're using. Totally inconsistent results.
