      She left at her own free will. She is 18 now and is still on her own not wanting to go home to the mom. No disrespect but why is she so distant from the mother?? What really happened why did she really leave? Grooming was assumed but I think it's something more. She didnt even sign the note with i love you mom. Jus an apology. N she hasnt contacted the mom this entire time. She jus wanted to be taken off the missing person list. She is not even in the same state as her mother she is in Montana. Hmmm what happens behind closed doors must have affected her. Should look more into the mother. Happy to hear she is safe and well..

    The mother strikes me as a responsible and empathetic person. The fact that she gave Alicia mental health days and attempted to brighten her up shows how much she cared for Alicia. It hurts my heart that people think ill of her. She's obviously doing her best and loves Alicia very much. I hope this case is resolved soon.

      It’s so easy to put the blame on the parent apparently. People just love to hand out parenting advice, any parent could be in this situation and this could have happened to any children and it’s so clear that Alicia’s mother was so kind and caring about her daughters struggles and mental health and her social life😥 she did the best she could have done but for some reason that’s not enough for these judge parents...

      Fr! I was a really sneaky kid when it came to social media when I was younger cuz my mom wouldn’t let me have it. All it takes is a smart child to hide stuff especially with how tech savvy kids can be so I don’t blame the mom at all

Although it shouldn't be common to prevent things like this from happening, it is a normality and we should NOT blame her mother.

      It seems kind of bittersweet to me, since she doesn't seem to want to be found, really. She just wanted people to stop looking for her AND she waited until she was 18.... I don't believe no one has hurt her, I don't believe someone didn't hold her captive until she was a legal adult before letting her go talk to the cops.

    • @gaythlete4603
      @gaythlete4603 Рік тому +15

      Not found per se, she came out and found the cops on her own. It does seem very odd that she came after she turned 18, and it was just to be taken off the missing persons list. I bet whoever took her didn’t want her to go out until she was of legal age. It’s sick. I hope he is found out and jailed for grooming this poor girl.

    She was definitely coached and groomed. I feel whoever did it was a man in his late 30s early 40s. Likes Pink Floyd and the Iron Man comic? She ended up liking this man because he made her comfortable and that comic was something he liked and she felt she needed to give him a gift for being "good" to her. Many older ppl lurk in game rooms and he probably chatted with her and she gave him too much info about herself. He probably overshared info about himself so she would feel comfortable to share about herself. Sad and sick.

      This is a good assessment. My 11yr old niece is not autistic and yet, she was easily manipulated into giving sensitive information. My sister in law found conversations on her phone. i also got that impression. the sudden change from pop to pink floyd, the iron man comic, the revealing clothes, the preoccupation with fitness, the wanting to try steak and putting on body spray despite her sensory issues... if you put all of this together, it's way too obvious she was trying to impress an older man. it's terrifying to think about it. poor little child :(

    • @persephone3892
      @persephone3892 3 роки тому +82

      I believe the guy is a bit younger (21-30). Pink floyd is a very popular band even for the younger generations. The comic book may have been a cheap, strategically placed idea for a gift - something to make Alicia think its a real relationship and not grooming.
      I feel alicia would have known a 30+ guy (especially 40+) is creepy/unappealing. Even if the guy was just pretending to be younger (very common with pedophiles).
      Youre right that these creeps hang out in chatrooms, PMing every young girl they can.
      Hacking is also likely. The culprit may have found her address threatened to hurt alicias family if she didnt comply.

    They should have investigated the steak house restaurants’ surveillance. I bet the man who was covered in tattoos was there often and that’s why they recommended it to Alicia. Since Alicia took her computer, what about the box it came in; could it have contained any information so they can locate her computer and see if it’s being used or sold ? I have a really bad feeling about the hole in her window screen, like someone was lurking around the house before the event happened

      Great advice regarding the steak house, I feel like they could check all surveillance around the area too even if they don't think it could be connected. This guy sounds really distinct! Also why are there no sketches of him?
      But just to let you know IP addresses are connected to the internet connection the computer has, not the device itself. There can be different IP addresses associated with the same device. Each device should have its own MAC address but not much can be worked out by just knowing this address alone unless they know the device its been connected to. The biggest problem is accounts like Discord can be secured with 2-Factor Authentication so even if they know her account logins, they cannot access the account without the device that the authentication is connected to.
      One thing they might be able to do is to restore a version of her device either from iCloud or if she ever backed up her phone to a different computer. But I guess they must have thought about this.

      Me too. I’m curious to know the details. I am glad it is known that she was safe and wasn’t hurt this entire time. It’s sketchy that she came out to the police station after turning 18. Who was she with the entire time? Why didn’t she go sooner? Is it because now whoever she is with, can’t be charged because she is of legal age…so many questions.
      And my biggest question is, did she or could she have had the free will to come back home this entire time? The article I read said she turned herself in because she wanted her name off the missing persons list so she could obtain her drivers license..
      Could she have had the chance to at least contact her mom…
      Did she watch the clips of her mom sobbing on her birthday or her posts desperately looking for?
      I just wonder. While still wanting to remain respectful of their privacy. It’s just a big story not to be curious about.

    As a victim of grooming I really have to stress to everyone that no matter what you tell your child, it can still happen to them. It’s not because your child isn’t smart or capable, it’s because these are grown people who have done it many times before. They can manipulate children very easily. I was trapped by my groomer from 16 to 19. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a consensual relationship until I was 25.

Maybe the artist is local and since he has so many tats, maybe checking the local shops for their most repeat customers that fit the darker skin tone may be helpful. He seemed to maybe be from close to her area or he wouldn't have been there 4 days later. That makes me think a tat artist in that area has probably worked on him. I was a victim to online grooming. I still regret being a naive child and thinking someone who I never met cared about me, I’m lucky and grateful that my sister stepped in and alerted my parents. At the time I hated her for “snitching” but now that I’m older and I hear about horrific stories involving online predators I’m forever grateful that she “snitched”. If she hadn’t I’d probably would’ve been lured and killed or worse. That time in my life will forever haunt me and continues to be brought up from my family. I understand what I was doing was dangerous and just down right stupid. But I was a child who felt alone, ignored and unwanted. It’s effected my mental health, but it could be much much much worse.

Even if they aren’t talking to strangers, they should be sleeping. Can’t tell you how many TIRED teens I have who say they stayed up youtubing or whatever til 4am. Have them turn it off and turn it in to you before bedtime. Studies are showing that not only is there stranger danger but mental and physical health issues due to lack of sleep, peer pressures etc.

    Videos like yours save lives. Keep doing what you are doing. I had 2 cousins, who were kidnapped by their dad at 2 and 4 years-old. While watching "America's Most Wanted", the dad felt compelled to tell them the truth at ages 16 and 18 about their mother and all of us. He always told them that she was dead and had no family. My aunt was able to spend the next 15 years with them before dying of cancer. While one brother grew up to be very successful, the nightmares of past still effected them.

I hope it's not some kind of Stockholm syndrome type of thing. I really hope her family gets answers and reassurance and gets to be around her now. I pray she doesn't dissappear on them again and can tell her family at least why she left. Even if we don't ever know why, I hope her moms gets answers she needs. She never gave up and every interview with her mom breaks my heart.
