- Green Day performing at Live 8 at Berlin's Siegessäule on the 2nd July, 2005. Organised by Sir Bob and The Band Aid Trust to raise money to fight poverty around the world, the event was viewed by around 2 billion people.

BAND AID - How the Money is Spent
In the financial year to 30 November 2024 Band Aid has awarded grants of £3m across 16 projects to date.
Activities in 2024 include:
Provision of life saving medicines and medical supplies
Access to basic healthcare for rural communities
Strengthening the support of health services in Tigray
Therapeutic food for malnourished children and vulnerable adults
Emergency grain supplies
Drought resistant crops
Income generating activities and vocational training
Construction of basic housing to support old and vulnerable people
Construction of emergency shelters for refugees
Provision of clean water and sanitation training across multiple refugee camps in Ethiopia
Training to prevent gender-based violence in communities
Hygiene and sanitation support for adolescent girls
Construction of schools and libraries, and provision of classroom furniture
Cash distributions for vulnerable households
Rehabilitation of boreholes and wells for schools and communities
School feeding programmes in Tigray to support children returning to education
The estimated number of beneficiaries totals more than 350,000 people.
Money raised from BandAid40 will continue to fund similar activities in Ethiopia and the surrounding countries.

@ARTV I´m wondering if the quality is so good because it might have been recorded on 35mm motion picture film. Unlikely, but still possible in 2005. That would make a good basis for HD digitalisation.
Not bad but by 2006 there was 4k documents.

I'm an old guy and I've never had more fun at a concert than Green Day. The enthusiasm they bring to their music and their fans is unparalleled. Billy Jo always lets some kid play real guitar on stage and then they give them that guitar. They are not to be missed.

I was in my 40's and brought my 15yr old kid. I had more fun than he did and he was looking at me like he actually didn't know who I was. 20 years ago and he still tells that story.
One of the highlights is the 14yo girls screaming the lyrics to Jesus of Suburbia while their suburban dads are clueless.
This band is the reason why the early 2000s were awesome

I saw them Auburn Hills when i was 15, after finding them around age 10.. my mom took me, it was around 2009 when 21st Century released. To this day it was the best day of my life, best live show I've ever attended or watched, and they deserve every ounce of praise that they recieve. They literally have never aged a day, never fell out of step with their fans; loyal to their brand and their roots.

I owe the performance my life. I remember when I was a queen obsessed 12 year old I watched this and god dammit it changed my life. I started falling in love with bands like Green Day,blink-182, started playing in a band learning to skate and well just everything I wanted too. If I never saw this I wouldn’t be who I am today.

man, this dude has so much energy, dancing with the guitar, playing it while he is at it AND not lip syncing, i mean i tried to find any clue for lip syncing, but the guy is clearly singing by the sound of the audio, and when he is not playing guitar, it's clear that his part of the guitar duel is silent.

This was the concert in which I became a fan of Green Day, until then I had never heard of the genre Punk or this unique and fucking amazing band with which I identify not only in music, but in its philosophy and its lyrics!

When I was a kid like 5 or 4 years old, my siblings put these songs on the tv and I really like them. So anytime I told them to put "el loco" (the crazy) because his style was something really weird for me but I really enjoyed. Now I am 18 years old and I like it too. (Hope you guys understand my English, it isn't good enough I just learn English for songs because I never take classes lol)
