      @@paulgreen2401 Fisherman are often ones taking care of nature and fish. Even to the point of getting in positions in order to manage lakes and isue law and regulations. To say that it has had good effect on lakes near to me would not say anything. They maintain them (managing waterweeds, preventing ''oxygen hunger'' in winters, taking care of sources of polution, net fishing, fishing in restricted times, fishing restricted fish - ''with what ever methods works''. Being part of nature and mitigating overpopulation strain on nature does not make eating fish not natural. And fishin for sports = released fish.
      I can talk only about my region, as I have seen change and know people only here.

      @@paulgreen2401 Animals live in the same way, with every single of human feature (non reason based, but wery comparable). Tree options - drasticaly reduce human population and, dont practice almost any technology (integrate back in nature), take action to keep nature in balance with watever works or dismantle nature and live in extremly dificult utopia where few selected speciman of nature are kept practicaly as pets (no undoing posibilities)
      p.s. about ''only in order to kill'' - eating fish is miniscule part of it. Nothing in that is novere near similar to ?''fish farms''?.
      p.p.s. Some parts of land, in past 30 ore so years, here are becoming restricted by law because of endangered species returning. For some even hosting substantial part of population (of world). So it is not like none of us (I even take part in forest/grass things) here know anything about health/preservation of nature. Yes, a lot of wrong, but not all of it.

      @@paulgreen2401 Fishing is just a form of hunting, something that is very much natural for us to do. If you want to have your nark on about fishing, then at least direct towards the actually ecologically disastrous things like trawling.

      @@paulgreen2401 Owning slaves is not natural. It's cultural. Civilization is built on culture. If you really want to improve things, you should focus on what matters, like deforestation and habitat destruction for agricultural expansion, while we continue to throw out tons and tons of food. Or cultural superstition in various countries that turns systematic extermination of specific species into a gold mine. Hunting is not an issue and can be greatly beneficial for nature when handled right, and is even a tool for conservation. Your reasons are noble but you target them at the wrong issue.

      Thank God someone with some sense is watching this video and commenting his respect. I have been following eagles for years, and this saint of a man did the first thing you do in a situation like this: remain calm, voice low, no sudden movements. If he had put the towel over this fledgling's head, he would then have had to contend with those talons. You cannot just go around picking up birds of prey no matter how well intentioned you may be. Sorry, Jack, I know I'm preaching to the choir here. Just needed to say something. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. We may be among the one or two kinder people left on this planet.🙋‍♀️🌹💜

    I`m a rehabilitator, clearly this bird is water logged and tired. at such a young age they sometimes don`t have the energy to get back up out of the water after attempting to catch a fish and get water logged in the process. the man did the right thing by taking his time as not to frighten or harm the bird ,or the other way around fully grown eagles can take down a deer by penetrating those talons into the spinal cord and killing the deer ! Last year there was a bald eagle that was injured in front of my house. It's wings were injured if i could remember and it was just laying on the cement in the cold rain. Me, a few neighbors and my dad came closer to it as I was hurt. Just like you in the video we gave it some space so we wouldn't scare it or make it force to defend itself but we called in a few people from the bird shelter (I think it was called) and now they fixed him up and he's flying beautifully. Once in a while I see him flying around the neighborhood. Great video!

    What world do I live in? I can understand a little frustration from those saying it'd be better not to film at the beginning and focus on the bird but I CAN'T UNDERSTAND how people are bashing this guy!! He stopped to save a wild animal in distress. As others have mentioned, calm and slow is the approach here, you don't want to make overly fast movements or try to coddle it (I saw a comment below insulting the video and then recommending to wrap the eagle in a towel... WRONG!!)
    Anyways, the guy did a great job, the eagle was rescued and is being rehabilitated. This video gives reason to CELEBRATE! Stop shooting others down and let's support one another. I personally have never been in this situation and wouldn't know exactly what to do either. This man rescued the eagle from the water, didn't cause it further harm, and delivered it to authorities. He gets a 10/10 in my book!! Thank you for sharing this video to show there are still humans that are concerned with helping animals!!

    Thankyou for helping this beautiful eagle also thanks to the rescue group O.W.L who nursed her, it's terribly sad to hear she didn't get her chance for a safe release into the wild. Her life was sadly very short, 😟 I believe you all did your absolute best for her. 💖 thanks again 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

      Was it just plain exhaustion, or hypothermia? I know how cold the water up island can get.. Or was it something else that forced the bird into the water in the first place? Eagles do not generally fall into the water unless they've been shot at.. I know it's illegal but pranksters with no conscience do occasionally shoot big birds..

    • @stacyboudreau123
      @stacyboudreau123 5 років тому +4

      @@sgdeluxedoc I don't fucking consider shooting birds a "prank". Those who shoot birds are bird killers with no conscience. A big difference between bird killers and pranksters.

    Just yesterday (12-25-2919) a huge golden eagle perched on a tree limb outside my bedroom window in the morning sun for at least an hour. She was magnificent. Would I help a creature like that in distress, of course. This amazing bird in this video was cold and exhausted and just needed a safe place to rest, warm up and dry out.
    I was at sea once a long time ago and an exhausted sparrow fell onto the deck. Some jackass crew-member just picked the poor thing up and threw it overboard into the ocean. I’ll never forget that. Thankfully most people have compassion.

    Thank for rescuing this eagle and handing him off to the right people. Eagles are very smart. I think when he was at his caretakers that he was trying to tell them, hey I have a nest by the water where u rescued me. He was trying to communicate this by wetting his nesting and playing in his water dish all the time. All animals communicate. Through body language and sound. Just like us humans. We have to try and understand what are they trying to tell us.

    I’m trippin on how it seem like the bird came to him like at this point it’s life or death gamble with a human and maybe he let me go or die in this water? I take my chances “heeeyyyy!” This video is awesome

    • @sherryc6228
      @sherryc6228 5 років тому

      De Corn , those are my thoughts as well. If the human didn’t immediately go after him, it’s a chance worth taking

    • @ffhd1clt
      @ffhd1clt 5 років тому +2

      De Corn It didn’t “come to him.” It was just paddling. It was in bad shape, and the last thing a raptor would do is approach a human.

    Same thing happened to me while fishing for large trouts in Lake Mary Ronan(Montana),the eagle plunged for bigger than she could carry(a large Cut-throat)and claws in, she crash landed in the frigid water(called her Sully-Girl),15 F from me,put my gloves on and got her on the deck,trout still clawed,super cold water,got her in a towel down in the cabin,and 30 minutes later,she took -off again,I kept the trout!!!!!!,impressed by the injuries on the fish....guess she had them so deep,in the flesh,she could not release it and hit the water,incredible....!!!!!..
