- Welcome to the Elbow House, located along the Elbow River in Calgary. Named for both its geographic and architectural significance, the Elbow House features a distinctive design that integrates with its surroundings. The minimalist aesthetic, enhanced by natural materials like wood, brick, and stucco, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The house's two stacked volumes offer an open, panoramic view from the ground floor, while the upper level, clad in a wood screen, provides privacy for the bedrooms. The design integrates both the stereotomic (grounding) and tectonic (elevated) elements, ensuring a connection to the landscape and a sense of wonder. Inspired by the client's vision of a T-shaped structure, the Elbow House captures light and creates dynamic spaces, offering a unique blend of simplicity and depth.

Worst case of Archi-speak I have ever heard!
Agreed, Pathetic BEST. I had second hand embarrassment to be honest.
