This is what TRUE DESIGN is: You don't pay attention to any "design strategies" shouting at you here and there. You just simply enjoy the space and the landscape surround you.
Every design is special for the people who build it,yet it is a different kind of home, coming out of a barn design, the double building is a great idea for everybody’s privacy ,use of space and economy thinking ,love the whole place, many happy future memories for the young couple !
It is but it looks like they are still 3x3 m rooms from the floorplan. That's a standard bedroom size in most other western countries. 2x3m would be small.
I met the owner of a Frank Lloyd Wright house built with the same idea. FLW didn't just design the house; he designed the way he wanted people to live in them.
You chose the perfect time of day (and date) to get such a beautiful painterly quality of light to promote this house. The still image of the link in this video looks like a house that belongs in an Edward Hopper painting. As the camera panned up over the grass I couldn’t help thinking of Andrew Wyeth’s famous work- “Christina’s World,” the painting of the girl lying in a grassy field. Beautiful house
Beautiful. Amazing natural light and the lot is so peaceful. I love the real life stages that most of us have to roll with. Someday there will be cabinets in my laundry room. 😆
It's funny to see how people see this design as "special", while every other home in north of Europe looks exactly like that (nothing wrong with that either way, just saying). In Poland we call this style "Modern Barn", and super popular recently, I'm building a similar one, though with Black wood.
Love the simplicity of design - well done Jonny. You mentioned it was built on a tight budget of $150/ft2. What year was the home built please - thank you
Hi Ian, their family was able to move in just prior to Covid-19, and they're appreciative they were able to construct the home before the price of building materials increased.

A good house is never really "done". I love this one! Regards from Indiana!
i love the house I live in ( thats my mum and step dad)
I enjoy seeing a young couple with discipline and desire to build a wonderful home on such lovely terrain.
I just love the couple! the house is also great.
Beautiful and smart design on a budget--their budget! I love how the couple flows so well together, too.
Awesome story and home, Jonny. Well done guys, and Suvi. Love from us.

An incredibly beautiful way to live, plan, and do life!
The thought towards minimizing the little peoples rooms is such a novel and genius move!

It's a great idea and a big departure from the McMansion style of giving each kid a 250sf room.
I love all the natural light...
ABSOLUTELY..............BEAUTIFUL...............!!!
Wonderfully designed house,,loved the entire landscape of that area,,full of sunshine 😊

Such a nice intimate look into their home, and it never felt intrusive. Nice eye catching all those little detail shots in there also!
What a cozy home. I love the layout.
The house is livable (!). Everything about this project is so simple, yet beautiful.
I love the peaceful vibe the house and property gives off. Well done!

Beautiful home, really, really, really, really, irritating background music until 5:23 🤦♂️

Really cool, really)
Beyond amazing.
The “LIKE”👍🏻 is for your photographer
What type of wood have you used on the outside?
I love this house sooooo much, well done! Is the architect available for contact?
Hello, please reach out on our website and we can put you in contact with the architect.
Can you provide the house size in terms of living space, etc. and a breakdown of their building costs at about $150 per sq.ft.?
I’d love to know what style home this is. It’s different than just a farmhouse style. Anyone know specifically?
Very Scandanavian modern.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
What state is this located in
Alberta, Canada
How can I get your contact Jonny and Megan? Need your expertise on Vancouver Island
Can you tell us the name of the architect? Thanks.
Jonny, the homeowner, is an architect and he designed the home.
geez, plant some trees out there already
That’s crazy cheap
Looks very European.
From the outside, in my own personal opinion, it looks flat, stark, box-like, and bleak.
I would be depressed living there.
Straight up hideous house.
That’s a little rough
Really banal modern architecture. No character.
