Abit lost, 5 room decrease all the way to 2 bedroom only? What happens when the kid grow up? Also the common bath isn't that load bearing wall, and the live pretty low level won't that affect structure?

Love the open and simple design, it will be perfect for single or CF couple. Having 3 kids in one bedroom really isn't ideal. We already don't have personal space in a small HDB, this just makes it worse. At my parents home I used to hide in the toilet just to have some space, sit on the toilet with the lid down, do nothing, day dreaming of one day having my own home without having to share everything.

LOL....my son can totally relate to you. We live in an apartment with 2 bedrooms (about 1000sq.ft), so he has to share a bedroom with his brother. Like you, he would usually hide in the toilet just to have some personal space. So yes, I agree that having 3 kids in one room is pretty crowded in an apartment that's only 1160 sq.ft.

Love the narrative from the homeowner. No fancy yet unnecessary jargons just to fill in the words. Just simple, straightforward explanations on the thought processes behind the design.

for me, the best part of the house was the fact that the tree was right outside of the window, it makes the space feel fresher! the best part of the home? all that space they made!

Nice house, but I’m not too sure if the homeowners have thought about how their children can have their own space when older.

They will either move to a bigger place or renovate to use that dining area as the 3rd bedroom again....since the children will no longer be running around the living area.

0:40 I'm surprised he could enlarge the dining room, as the wall he shifted looked like a load-bearing wall?

The original plan by HDB ‘shifting structural wall’ depicted in this video is wrong and misleading. The new layout structural wall next to common bath is the correct original layout.

The master bath has no windows? How do you access the AC ledge? And is modifying toilet wall and windows allowed?

Hi, the floor plans used in the video were incorrect which led to the idea that the walls were modified. Please refer to the right floor plan (under 5-room flat, open kitchen concept) at services2.hdb.gov.sg/mnh/vt/skyparc_dawson/index.html

how'd they shift the common bath toilet wall facing the living area if its not meant to be moved?

is ok to get a few more pieces of furniture. minimalist doesn’t mean you have to keep your space empty.

Nice design! Like the usage of lights to accentuate the spaces. 1 practical question - how do you keep your toilet tiles so clean after 2.5 years??! No mould whatsoever along the grout lines.. well done!

Great interior! But honestly: do people still need a television set today? Isn't television hopelessly outdated? Apart from the fact that only government propaganda is broadcast.

My first thought is that this is not a very feng shui situation (those who know, will know), but of course their baby was an addition to the apartment, I’m assuming they will move at some point to get 2 bedrooms

Well… they may need to erect the walls back that they took down. Kids prefer privacy as they grow up
