My guess is that cylinder choke #3 load had a wad failure. That pattern was pretty sparse... Ive killed geese with #3 steel. Cant tell you how far for sure, but my guess is at least 40. But thay was 12 gauge. All I had in my gun hunting ducks and geese came by. Love these "whats in the box" vidoes... Would love to see some 20 and 12 gauge stuff someday.
I''ve shot honkers with #6 steel when i was dove hunting a few deferent times and 20 yards there done #4 steel can take them at 35Yards and #3 at 40. also #6 steel is able to take wood ducks out to 35 yards head and neck only but it works.
I think both of these loads would work exceptionally well for what they’re designed to do. I’d like to see the #3 steel shot with a Light Modified or maybe an another aftermarket choke.
If your birds are coming into decoys (under 40yds) you should have zero issues with #4s I'd for sure pattern a couple with your gun to make sure. I/C for my SBE3 is the way to go. Good luck this year.
Maybe the UFO pellets are supposed to arrive later. Catch more air resistance, slow down faster, help compensate for leading too much? Or maybe in flight the air forces the rim to present it's smallest profile, improving flight characteristics somehow? Just spit-balling ideas I don't know for sure. Interesting stuff.
I’ve seen similar Wads in some Boutique Turkey TSS Loads. They weren’t TPS Wads and the company wouldn’t tell me exactly what wads they were either, Ancient Chinese Secret 🤐🤣🤣🤣. Also, what company can lengthen the chamber on one of my 28 gauges ?
#3 steel at 40 yards effective range depends on FPS. I shot Blackcloud in 12 gauge at 1500 FPS and killed a lot of ducks. Powder was on the dirty side. I was shooting with a 870 pump and modified choke. I would reload this with a duplex Steel/TSS
Would probably be great for close in teal and woodies. 5's would be good too. I'm not sure if they would offer a (duck load) in that small of shot though.....maybe they will.
Great video and very helpful to us reloaders of the 28 gauge. Thanks.. Jack Stoner
I have been anxiously awaiting this video. Great job. The 3's did well for me at 40yds.

Been waiting on this video. I’m shooting these in 4-shot for ducks this year, so I am very i retested to see what your thoughts are.

I ended up with a LM out of my ethos.

Not sure about chamber lengthening. I'd love to get my hands on some of those wads.

I wonder how that would be with steel six
