I also have my ranchu's on a tub container because it's easier for me to buy and carry home than buying a heavy glass aquarium tank and also plastic tub is quite cheaper than aquarium tank, the down side is since it's plastic the side is blur so I can only have a good view of my fish from above.

How do you cycle your tank for goldfish and for what time????

cycling basically refers to establishing an ammonia feeding cycle where beneficial bacterial are introduced and bred in the tank
you can cycle by adding drops of beneficial bacterial sold in bottles, or simply use old filter sponges or old aqaurium filters to run through the water. Just make sure water is dechlorinated so beneficial bacterial doesnt die
