I’ve been donating twice a week for over a year. It’s helpful for me financially, and I’ve made better meal choices to compensate for the entire process
Tracey, I'm not sure f I already commented but THANK YOU for doing this video! I did this before and during my divorce in Georgia from 2016-2019. I would sometimes get anemic also! But I did make about 2k a year more and it paid my car payment at the time and I did Airbnb in my home cause I couldn't find a real job lol In 2020 though I sold my house in Georgia, paid off all my debt and paid cash for a 31 ft RV and lived and traveled in it for a year. Now I am in Denver CO but I'm thinking of doing rv/vanlife again next year. Love the inspiration your channel provides! 🌹Red
Tracey, your haircut is one of the best you have had since I started watching you, before you moved into the van! I think you are on to something!! Looking great sister !!
Tracey 🎉❤ I am so happy to hear what you’ve learned about this! I used to do this 30 years ago in my 20s for about two years! I also became anemic and passed out once. I had no clue in my 20s what was going on. I stopped when I ran into a plasma tech (by chance once) in the grocery store and she shared how dangerous it was and told me I should stop. It really opened my eyes, and I stopped doing it 😇! I was told that they also use it in cosmetics! Yeah it’s sickening the whole vampiric health and other systems using/manipulating our empathic natures. I’ve never donated to the RC and never will. I didn’t realize they sold the blood, but of course they do! Thank you for sharing ❤
Hi Tracey. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. This topic was very interesting to me. I’m a school teacher who has “donated” plasma for 5 years. The money I received helped me to be able to trade in my 23 year old car for a new one and enjoy going out with friends. If I did not have this extra money, my lifestyle would be different. I also have a part time job to help ends meet. I do wish my teaching job could cover everything but I’m single and as you know, that can be financially difficult at times. Your video is making me think but probably won’t reconsider donating at this time. Fortunately I don’t seem to have side effects. Keep on posting, you rock!! PS I’m in Texas.
Wow here in Scotland 🏴 part of the United Kingdom our national health service (NHS) only allows us to donate (we don’t get paid) blood every 3 months for men and 4 months for women due to iron levels being higher in men! Plasma can only be donated between 4 - 6 times a year. So it is alarming 😮 that in the US you are permitted to give multiple times a month, I am surprised that more people are not reporting that they are ill due to excessive blood & plasma giving. Everyone giving blood please be super careful as looking after your health is vital for your survival 🥰 🙏
So appreciate the follow up on the Con's to the benefits you thought you were gaining at the beginning of this journey. I spoke to my GP if I would be a candidate for "donating" plasma and she highly advised against it since I have suffered from low iron my whole life. Great job bringing light the dirty business of Plasma!
Wow!!! Thank you for this info!! I had no idea...... I appreciate the time and work you did to put this video out. Glad that you feel good now!! Take care till next video!!!! Hugs!!!
This is really excellent information Tracy. Very well researched and thought out. I have always been apprehensive of this industry and now I know why my gut was telling me not to go there. Thank you!
Many plasma donations results in a low immunoglobulin levels that will make you sick because you have lowered antibody levels in your body. Anemia would be from loss of red cells.
Just another way to define “human trafficking “. . I was wondering what your decision was going to be going forward. It’s world where good can always be exploited. we are responsible to take care of ourselves. Interesting that you didn’t really think about how was your body going to recover from the donation. Are bodies are not magic they require maintance. Thanks Tracey for paying it forward….that is a very good thing. God Bless you, stay safe and happy.
Hey Tracy! Thanks for the informative vlog. I have watched you since you started, I just love your journey, and your advantures! I've been down the rabbit hole of blood/plasma donations. and believe me- it gets a lot darker under the surface. There is more info if you keep digging, but let me tell you, it's very hard to stomach.
This is a very informative video. Nothing surprises me these days what corporations will do to people to generate revenues. The human life is only a profit center these days. Yup.. get my tinfoil hat out. By the way, your lighting on this video is very flattering. Again, well done video.
Interesting information for sure. Who knew 😮 .. at the same time, it's not too surprising. Big corporations sucking the lifeblood out of the serfs for a mere pittance. Great reporting, Tracey. 🙂
I’m so glad you did this I knew about this for years when I worked at the hospital and never thought it was fair and they are always begging g for blood no wonder it’s a trillion dollar business and not in the people business my daughter did the plasma signed up for twice a week to make extra money too and also ended up enimic please tell people to be cautious and yes her plasma place is in low cost neighborhood
Excellent information. Thank you! A friend just told me about the “opportunity” to make money and I was going to “donate”. The thing is I was going to buy a CD with the money because I’m into saving. When I lived in my van I was amazed at how much money I could save, and watch the interest grow. Now saving has become almost an obsession as I try to see how much I can save in a month. But now that I’ve seen your vlog I don’t think it’s worth the health risk at the age of 77. After all, I’m saving in case I need services, like maybe a PCA in future years. I don’t want to work against myself. Thanks again! Much appreciated.
Tracey very interesting about the plasma business. Thanks for the insight. Back in my college days I remember working with a young married couple who also were in college who gave plasma every week . They were both on scholarships and needed the money to help with additional living expenses like rent and groceries.
Love that lighting you put up in Charlene looks great and thank you for informing us on the plasma/ blood donations been watching for a while now and love the talks you do and Idk if this sounds weird or not but you motivate me to get things done You inspire me knowing I can do anything I want and just have to start . and Ketih and John are amazing
Hey Tracey you are a good person giving plasma but look after yourself first Anemia is not a healthy result!! 😊 I always was under the impression that Blood/Plasma is big business!! In Australia it is illegal to pay people unlike US & we donate only, currently there a big drive for donations! Happy & healthy 2024 to you & Joy & family! 💜🥂🇦🇺🐨
Hi Tracey, interesting, the difference between USA and Australia where we don’t get paid to donate whole blood or plasma. Also, we can only donate plasma once in two weeks at the most, not twice a week. I don’t mind the payment for blood or plasma, but should be same for each time, and less frequent in my humble opinion.
Just another side to the story ... these plasma donation centers are not only in the poorest parts of town. If you do a Google search for plasma donation in Orange County, CA, I think there were 19
I tried to donate plasma but they said my veins are too small. Apparently with small veins, after they take the plasma, they need to put your blood back in and cant do it. After watch this video, Im glad a cant "donate".
Are you living the van life due to a lifestyle choice or are you homeless? Do you see a difference between the two? This video seems to blur the line. I sold plasma for about a year and appreciated the extra income while in school. They paid me so I didn't care what they did with it and have no idea why I would. Luckily the one I went to was close and I was able to avoid the 5 o'clock traffic.
Yes I’m well aware of the difference and know how fortunate I am to be able to do it because I want to not because I have to. That said, I just spent almost $9,000 this year on the van getting it fixed throughout the year and I’m not rich by any means.
Great job but I’d never donate a penny let alone blood to the Red Cross after seeing what they’ve done in the past and now with Israel I just don’t know what organization’s are doing the right thing
Other then the too many times a week it seems like a very good system that provides blood and it's components across the world, for profit which has proven the best way to provide the things people need. Otherwise who does this? Volunteers? And poor people who need the money shouldn't get paid? And there shouldn't be an incentive to give blood? Sorry, just confused about the negative slant about life giving blood being available when needed in uncountable towns the world over. In fact the infrastructure that makes it possible amazes me.
It is a necessary thing but I was just giving information from what I learned in giving. The more information you know the better decisions you can make for yourself. That’s it.
the gold oil......sacred secretions of the spine......the land of milk and honey, one is white,.......the gold is the anointed oil.............fascinating,...bible is alchemy
This video is a bit irresponsible. Blood is vital for saving lives and it is voluntarily donated. And as for what the hospital is charged, that’s called a processing fee. Think of it like your water bill. Water is also free, but in order to be sure it is safe it has to be treated and tested, you get a water bill to cover the cost of employees, equipment and testing supplies. Well same thing with blood. I don’t know about you, but I want to make sure it is tested and safe for transfusion. And most importantly, I want to know it is there in case I need it. The cost to collect, test, store and transport the blood is expensive. For example, the donor buses you see that are used for mobile donor stations, minimum 500k each. So please don’t turn people against what you really don’t have the right perspective about because I promise if you are in need you won’t give a crap about the cost when it comes to saving your life. I work at a blood bank and I can tell you they don’t make a profit. The margin is less than 4% and that’s so they can replace capital equipment. I was able to help save the life of a 5 yr old boy with Leukemia because I donate platelets. His name was Jose and I got to meet him because the blood center I work at had a banquet where they brought donors and patients together. If he didn’t have blood at that moment, he would have bled to death because he had no platelets in his body to form a clot. He was bleeding out of his ears, that’s why his mom took him to the Dr. You are right about paid plasma centers, they are in it for profit and I wouldn’t donate an ounce of plasma to them. They can’t use it for transfusion, at least not in the US. But volunteering to donate blood is a gift of life that everyone should feel good about giving. It.does.save.lives!
@@AdvanturesOver50 You’re not telling the complete truth and the video title itself is harmful. Your information is not completely accurate and it can cost lives. When there’s no blood on the shelf and someone needs it to save their life, then what? It is irresponsible to talk about something that can hurt someone else when you know not what you say. I agree the paid plasma industry is dark, it’s being used as raw material to sell for profit. But volunteer blood donation is not dark and you are misleading. That is 100% wrong.

I will continue to donate until I age out at 70
Great job, Tracey. Digging up the background on issues is sometimes difficult because they don't want to be found out. Thank you.
BTW..amemia is not caused by plasma donation as your red blood cells ( the iron containing cells) are returned.
