I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the BRIGHT YELLOW WORK UNIFORMS.
I think the gray during the song symbolizes that even though hope may seem lost, there is still something that can save the factory. After all every job is flawed, but there are still positives that can make the jobs enjoyable.

I personally liked the message that this episode has. How sometimes being stuck in a job that doesn’t truly make you happy could make you feel kinda burnt out. Next year I’ll be old enough to get my first job (so 16 I’m 15 now) and that’s honestly one of my biggest fears in getting one. But I hope I’ll find one that I like. Also WOOOH Jasper!!! 💙💖
And I get what Pinkie meant with her life’s purpose. Her friends were all going on to bigger and better things and for Apple Jack she was already there. But Pinkie was still a simple baker/party pony. She all saw that her friends were busy with new and big things and she felt like she had to do the same. Pinkie might be my least favorite of the mane 6 which don’t get me wrong she has good moments and I won’t deny she’s a well written character but she’s just not my personal favorite for moments like Filli Vanilli and Yakity Sax. But here I can actually understand her and even connect with her a bit. 🎈
Sure the color pallet might be gray but I think of it in a different way. The world still might be boring or dull or straight up bad but it’s really up to YOU to bring happiness and color into YOUR life. The way the bright and colorful ponies dancing upon the gray scale could reflect that.

@@JoeyTurner476 I know that the Dragon Dagger doesn't work that way I was just making a joke besides I was born on the same year as the power rangers franchise 1993 and I just turn 26 eleven days ago the same day as the third day the last bronycon and the american premiere of the last laugh and also I ship them too and spike and ember, flutter cord, pony flash light, soarin dash and apple taps
You can tell that the cracking bones sound effect is just someone twisting an empty water bottle into a mic.
It may have been a blessing in disguise that I did miss this episode despite the leaks. But then I'm reminded of something Bob Ross may have once said; "In every life, a little rain must fall".
I think I might know why the background remained grey... In certain art lessons, or projects, one has to make a piece that specifically shows that it has a Focal Point, the place where the eye is suppose to focus on... Sometimes it has to be subtle, like a picture where certain items are a certain shape, except for one, and you only notice it after really looking at it... Other times, it's straight up in your face through basic Colors and what they represent.... In the case of this episode, The eye is meant to focus on the colorful characters, not the bland and depressing background..... (it could also represent staying happy and cheerful despite gloomy surroundings) But I guess it all really depends on one's own Point of View....
I never really thought of this episode having that kind of message. But indeed all of you guys have very prominent points. I definitely have these fears, not knowing exactly where my places in the world, and given my past experience where I seem to fail everything I try, it doesn't exactly help. But I learned that even the smaller victories can sometimes help
Sheesh; A Matter Of Principals didn’t even make Voice this depressed.
Everybody liked this episode. Even me. I’d probably call it my second favorite of the Season 9 episodes under Twilights seven.
For me it qould be NO.3 going under NO.2 between dark and dawn and NO.1 episode 17(I wont write the name because spoilers and I forgot)

I gave this episode a 9/10 Super Mushrooms, it makes me so happy that "Weird Al" Yankovic finally appeared on the final season of MLP, Cheese Sandwich finally regain my happiness, including Jasper 'Fez Boy' Pie
Sorry your feeling down in the dumps Voice, but like your friends said- you have the rest of season 9 to look forward to & find the happy spark your looking for. And dont forget Hasbro, is at this very moment working on Generation 5.

Yeah, voice I hope you don’t pull a Josh of how you feel on Rainbow Dash like you did in Rainbow falls. Cause that episode gave me feels that made me concern on whose idea was it for this to be a Rainbow episode & not a Rarity episode!
As for last laugh, I liked it cause it showed even though depression can be that gray cloud always hovering over you, you gotta always find the bright side of things & in life no matter how gray they get.
Hey Voice, watch something that you know will cheer you up then. That helps me. Also, I have mentioned this before, but maybe if you feel there's too much bad in the world, try to do something positive. Like these videos are a form of entertainment and make others happy, so that's something right?
I have already seen episodes 15 all the way to 20 of My Little Pony and I have to say that they're really kicking it up for its final season. My favorite episode so far is She talks to Angel. Trust me Voice, you'll love the episodes so far.
Thanks to the episodes, I won't say which one, I finally figured out how the four episode finale will play out from beginning all the way to the end. It is going to be quite a shock and an epic farewell.
Well, IMO, I think that Voice took the grayness all too seriously. I didn't even notice that the skies were gloomy when Cheese left the factory. IMO, the refugees was there...because that was just the way the background was, no symbolism intended or required.
That said, I can sympathize that sometimes something meant to be happy can seem, well, _not_, when you're deep in a funk.

Everything voice said felt like personal problems, not problem with the episode itself.
He used personal affairs, such as what is going on in the world and the bronycon, and let it influence his view of the episode itself, which was a pretty damn good episode if one considers majority opinion a factor.
Not hating and he is not wrong for disliking the episode, I just personally think that one should dislike the episode for something the episode did wrong, not something that happened in one's personal life that they project onto the episode.
As for the color-choices in the episode? I can see his point of it being too grey, but overall one should focus on characters, acting and the emotions they express, as that is the point of the show. Not the choice of wall-paper in the background. It has always been pretty bland except for few rare occasions.
Agreed. It felt like he went into the episode in not the optimal mood. I wouldn't watch a new episode if I was feeling down.

At the end of the day I did enjoy this episode, but I can kind of understand where Voice is coming from. Pinkie Pie usually has very zany episodes with at least one crazy scene, and this episode WAS pretty laid-back for a Pinkie episode, and I didn't laugh much. I wouldn't be surprised if the factory setting didn't connect much with me either. I like this episode, but from the GOOD Pinkie Pie episodes, this one feels like the weakest. (You know, without counting her bad episodes).
we dont speak of those travesties but yeah i can see what he means because aside from the song and gags everything else was rather dull.
I know I'm watching this some years later, but, EVERYONE deserves kindness, love, and compassion! So, here Voice

It was good to hear Weird Al Yankovic reprise the role of Cheese Sandwich again after all these years (just as good as it was to hear Patton Oswalt reprise the role of Quibble Pants), too bad "The Last Laugh" will probably be the last time we see Cheese Sandwich since its the final season, unless he makes an appearance in the finale. (probably won't but you never know.)
If he reappears in the finale, its most likely a silent cameo, much like in Twilight's Kingdom and the 2017 movie.

If only Amy Keating Rogers was still around for the show to write this episode. The Fox bros writing this episode was definitely the issue with the episode. But Bridle Gossip and Rainbow Falls are far fucking worse. Also don't expect She Talks To Angel and 2 4 6 Greaat (minus Princess Celestia) to be any good.
I felt the same way as Voice after Toy Story 4. I went in hoping my childhood-defining franchise would pick me up after a lousy point, and I left feeling betrayed.
Didn't Jasper already review this with Tricky Fox?
BTW, the writers of "The Last Laugh" also wrote the episode "Yakity Motherfucking Sax", so this episode didn't just bring Pinkie's good name but redeemed The writers here.
Also Voice thoughts on this episode is what I think of Heartbreakers, not kidding

As someone who deals with depression on a DAILY BASIS! I feel meh when I see this episode but I know everything is ok and the ending of the video was very funny xD

Hey Voice, now world is even more crapier! I can't laugh of it but I think its funny.
I think this episode had missed another opportunity to bring a character back. I was half-expecting Party Favour to be one of the workers at the gag factory. He was inventive in creating comedy props. A background pony at the most, no need for dialogue.
I'm not a fan of Weird Al's style of comedy outside of MlP, however, I do enjoy Cheese Sandwich. But I found this episode to be... boring. The only really good part was the climax when Cheese got his spark back.
When Pinkie gets sad, you get sad with her. When Cheese gets sad, it just seems to suck the fun out of the room, somehow.
And their dynamic together, In the first episode, they played off each other enjoyably, admittedly, they were both happy and excited.
But their dynamic here just felt... dry!
The WillyWonka imagery was a nice touch, though. And the best part: no murderous machinery!
Jobs lives again!...kind of.
