- I still cannot believe that this room is real and mine! My husband always joked that once we got this room done I was never going to leave it.... and he was right! This room has such a wonderful, creative, cozy, and peaceful energy. It is truly marvelous! I cannot wait to share this space with all of you as we completed more sewing projects together.
Ever since I started sewing in middle school I dreamed of having a space that I could call my own and just sew, not having to worry about cleaning up after or disturbing anyone else. When my husband and I went house hunting one of the "must haves" on our list was a sewing room for me, and while the house we chose did not have one already made, it did have the prefect space for one. So we built a room!
I had never cut drywall before, laid flooring, or hung wallpaper, but thankfully we knew people who had and were willing to teach us and help. I learned so much along the way.
Thank you so much to my wonderful husband for making this a priory and for all the love and labor you poured into this room.
Also thank you to:
Mom
Dad
Mom-In-Law
Dad-In-Law
Brother-In-Law
Niece
We could not have done it without all of you.

I love it when I see family helping make sewing rooms!
It was so wonderful of them to help so much and made me feel very loved!!
So exciting! I got my own room, (finally) and everyone now hangs out there! It's all right, but they have to put up with the sewing machine going! :D Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Congratulations on your sewing room!! Hahaha well everyone knows that its obviously the best place to be!!
The ceiling tiles. I JUST DIED and went to heaven. Soooo cool.
And I immediately went for the purple shade you decided on. 👍
And thank you for reminding me how fun being young was.
Thank you so much! I was very excited to learn that decorative drop ceiling tiles existed. They make the room feel much grander!

@@HistoricalBelle You’re welcome!
and that ceiling wow!
I know right!! Decorative drop ceiling tiles are amazing and sadly overlooked in many cases.
Beautiful! And that shade of purple is just right. While I love purple I've often said that I wouldn't want a whole room in purple. Mostly because the wrong shade would make it look too depressing. I once watched one of those home renovation shows where they redo a home for a family, and one of the little girls wanted a purple room. It looked horrible. They chose the wrong shade and made it look so dark and cave-like. But the shade you chose is perfect. When you had the paint chips on the wall I was rooting for that one. Are you planning on putting curtains on the window, or are you leaving it curtianless? Is there even a need to have a some type of window treatment, i.e. blocking nosy neighbors or bright intense morning or afternoon sun? You could have a nice valance, maybe with some sheer curtains that still let in light but soften the sunlight so it's would not be so intense. Just curious.
Thank you so much! Yes, haha a little bit of purple goes a long away. I've been thinking about curtains for the window. It is one of those things I would like to do eventually. I was also thinking of doing a very light sheer curtain. Thankfully the way our house and property are situated I don't have to worry about anyone peeping in and no direct sun hits the window. Therefor the hanging of a curtain rod is low on the priority list lol. But I do think the widow would look more romantic with curtains.
