To people who are confused on why the mother won't let the father see the pups.
Its because the for the first months that the babies are born a mother won't let the father see the babies until they're old enough to see. The mother is just doing what they are supposed to do: Protect.
Another reason is because the male is known to kill the pups at a young age. So the female will mate again. Thats not always the case. Some mother dogs let the father see the pups. But its 99% of the time the reason.

Trained dogs allow their owners to handle their puppies. Of course it is instinctive for them to be protective, and nobody is 100% in their dogs mind, but it needs to be instilled that it is NEVER ok to be aggressive to ANYONE in the house. Otherwise there will eventually be a fight, or one of the dogs won't have any kind of a problem snapping at neighbors and friendly passer-byers.

@@housecat9338 you should look into bird chicks. If there are 2, and one hatched first, it will most likely bully the smaller one out of the nest to make sure it's the only one being fed. And even if the mother sees it, they won't help the smaller one. Nature is cruel as hell, yet somehow people still want to have some weird fairy tail image of nature.

@@housecat9338 i agree with you. Even my cat after giving birth to 4 babies she killed 2 of them going as far as to eating some of their body parts. Later a cat expert told me that such things happen with some animals that they kill their newborn that are born with defects & knowing that they are not gonna survive for long so they kill them before they grow big.

My dog always allowed me to see her puppies and hold them, I cared for her when she was pregnant and when she had them. She's the sweetest. She's also a chihuahua, so I guess you can say she trust me

However, they might be hungry/learning. I know when my babe was this small, she would always stick her snout in my mouth to see what I was eating. I found out they do this to learn what foods they should eat, (explains why she started eating candy canes lol).
Also when we had more puppies, they would lick her mouth and she'd immediately run away. I had learned that puppies may do this when they're hungry because it triggers a vomiting reflex for them (having their lips licked) and they might just want some food.
Still cute, tho! I love puppies!!! Even when they're a handful. 💖

That is not kissing. When a pup does that it is stimulating the adult dog to regurgitate food for the pup to eat. Wolves do this too. They are not kissing! When your dog licks your muzzle it is likewise acting like a pup and wants you to barf up something for breakfast.

My dog Chloe at first would bite at me whenever I got to close but eventually every time she had more kids she knew I meant no harm. That was the bond me and her had to the point where she was even comfortable with me getting close minutes after birth.
Every dog was like "Get away from my babies!" while the Bulldogs were all like "Get this baby away from me!"

Lol I love hoe the pit bull is just so casual and chill about it. Doesn't move the puppies, doesn't show teeth, doesn't growl... Just sits there and enjoys her time.
People always want to condemn this group of breeds but they're amazing dogs. Hell, my cousin abused his dogs when I was a kid, and they never let him touch them. He warned me she would bite me if she saw me, but as soon as I opened the door and peeked, she got up and ran to me and tried to jump on me to say hello. She definitely didn't mind the puppies coming close to me, but I was trying to get her to relax from the excitement because her breasts were weighing her down heavily, (he was basically running a puppy mill woth 2 females and a male. Constant breeding. If 1 female was rearing puppies, the other was pregnant with them).
Unfortunately those dogs were heavily abused, and had to be put down later, but I've never had a pit be aggressive towards me when puppies are involved. I actually couldn't even see the puppies because mama was blocking the door (she's pretty wide heh) and licking me lol. Kinda miss those dogs, but life happens I guess... Treat a dog like a family member and not some sort of slave/worker and they'll love you to death. Every dog deserves to have that special spot scratched at some point in their lives.

never had this problem with my grandmas pom. she probably could tell that i was a kid but at the same time she trusted me and my grandparents. never got mad at the dad either. shed let me sit with her while she nursed and such. was always so gentle with both her and pups
