Thank you so much for this, Tiffany! I used this tutorial to make a pillow for my upcoming mastectomy. I used two fabrics that I absolutely love and it is already cheering me up. I am on the smaller side and used your measurements (except 12 inches height instead of 13.5) and it fit well. For those who, like me, are not regular quilters or pillow-makers: I used a 12 oz. bag of Poly-fil, plus a small bit of stuffing left over from another craft, and that was enough. My pillow is pretty rounded now (a little bit flatter may have been okay too). Also, I recommend keeping the hole to fill in the bottom center of the pillow rather than the side. I did the side and it was really hard to stuff some of the nooks and crannies of the pillow, especially as the hole was not quite big enough for me to reach into the pillow and shift the stuffing around.
Thank you so much! I have a friend that I want to make this for and wasn’t sure how to do it! Your video is great. Very east to follow and very thorough!
The extra length of fabric on the sides is good for when they are laying down it helps to prop the arms up some for those that have lymph nodes removed.
Thank you for posting this video. Double mastectomy pillows are so expensive to buy and very plain looking. Being able to make one for my daughter in pretty materials I feel adds a personal, loving touch to a device which will help my girl stay comfortable post surgery as a mother who's feeling pretty helpless and anxious right now.
Excellent ! I had made another pillow for myself from another video and it was huge ! I am small and made your pillow and it fits me perfectly ! I am have a double mastectomy in a few weeks and didn't want to have to buy one. So easy to make. ! Great !
Thank you for this! My mom just had a double mastectomy the other day and I wanted to make her one of these pillows to help with the discomfort when she comes home. Thank you 😊

I'm so glad this video was helpful and that it fits you perfectly!
This is also great for people having top surgery, which is what I am making one for.
Muchas gracias por este video, estaba buscando la manera de hacerme la almohada. Gracias de nuevo.
I am getting ready for my own mastectomy surgery, and I am going to make my own pillow and see how it goes. Thank you for sharing!!

I have been making ponchos for women who will or had mastectomies. I have that on my channel. I have started lining with a pillowcase for each side.
