- In this episode we were invited to attend the 2024 Silver Dollar City Media Day. This year is a really special one for SDC as they are opening up the new Fire in the Hole!!! In this episode, you will see a PoV of the ride itself, hear directly from Silver Dollar City officials about the future of SDC, and witness the other new additions to The Fire District.

Such a fun event! Love to see the new ride, I was there when the first ride opened, everyone had to ride Fire in Hole back then! Can’t wait to ride the new ride this year!

Awesome..Spent a lot of time there when I was a kid from 1970 thru 74, and got to ride fire in the hole in 1972 when it opened and also made the trip last year to ride the Original 1 more time. We will be watching the opening day ceremonies tomorrow from home but plan on being there next weekend to Ride the New Fire in The Hole. :) Can't Wait !! then heading East Monday morning to watch the total eclipse of Sun 🌞 in Popular Bluff Mo area. We Love Silver Dollar City !🤠

That looked like a great time! How long did it take you to choose your lunch? It all looked so good. They've gone all out on the merch this time around. And I'm still wishing they'd do something new that uses the old toboggan tower. I remember riding the toboggans with my kids, they talk about it every time we go to SDC.
What you said about the toboggan tower is funny because I said the same thing to Jayme when I was editing the video. I said I used to love that ride and wish it was still there to ride with our kids.
The merch is amazing. We think they understand how much Fire in the Hole has meant to our area over the years. They definitely are doing it justice with the new ride and its surrounding.

I've met Brad Thomas, president of SDC, a couple times at the park. He seems like a really nice guy who cares about SDC and the guests.
Do they offer the Fire in The Hole journal anywhere there to purchase? That would be perfect for quiet time.
Jayme said that she hasn’t seen them in any of their stores, but to be honest, we do not know if they will be available in the future.
