Thank you for this video. When my dad retired, he moved to West Branson. He passed away 2 years ago. We both played bluegrass. Me the fiddle and he was an amazing guitar picker. He played there often. I have the best memories of Silver Dollar City. We started going there when I was a child in the 60's. I must admit I had some tears watching this, but it all sweet memories. I find it very weird that they didn't let you film the Fire in the Hole ride, especially when it's going to be closing. I could understand the new ride when it opens but... so sad not to be able to document your last ride on it. Also, seeing videos of rides has never stopped me going on them, if anything it makes me want to go on it more so I can experience it for myself properly.
My family LOVES Silver Dollar City. Dollywood was another Silver Dollar City location before Dolly bought the location.
Episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies...was filmed at silver dollar city...relatives of the Clampetts lived there ....and the clampetts stated at the hotel.😂😂
I love the costumes on the lady Carolers. Those were gorgeous in the music box. Wow that was beautiful.❤❤❤❤

I miss the Flooded Mine at Dollywood, I'm thankful I got to ride it when I did
I grew up near Branson, but moved away a long time ago. I am devastated they are closing Fire in the Hole and I won’t get to ride it again before it closes. 😭 The age of the ride was part of the draw for me. The park changed, added fancy new coasters, but Fire was always there. Even the Flooded Mine changed, adding the shooting gallery. I’m not sure the new Fire in the Hole will have the same character which made the original so great. And yes, the dang Baldknobbers stole Red Flanders’s pants.

Did you know that Dollywood used to be Silverdollar city at one time? I went there back in I believe it was a 70s.
I did as a child as well. It was cool too but I remember wild west themed activities. And my mom who hated roller coasters loved Fire in the Hole.
You should visit SDC in the fall, when they have a fantastic Harvest Festival!!,

I have some very fond childhood memories of Silver Dollar City and especially Fire in the Hole. I'm so glad I got a chance to take my son to experience it last year. Christmas is the best time of the year to visit.
I once did the cave twice in one day. I recommend it but be prepared for the "climb" to the funicular.

Great video. Both you and Jen look like you're having so much fun. FYI, an employee of Montgomery Ward created Rudolph the Red Nose Raindeer. Fun fact the stores used to have the story available to buy each Christmas until the stores closed. My Dad used sell plumbing and heating for the store until her retired.

I never thought id cry over a rollercoaster, but there i was, riding it for the last time, tears streaming down my face as i stepped out of that coaster car and walked through that big swinging door for the last time. I hope the new one gives my kids as many memories as the old one did me

Silver Dollar City was my local theme park when I was a kid. I loved that place. I live on the west coast now so I haven't been there in almost 10 years. Thanks for covering my favorite childhood park!

What an absolutely spectacular light display n parade n tree lighting n train ride!!! This was THE BEST Christmas venue I have seen this year!!! Great seeing Jenny Penny n Boogie n his girl it was like a reunion for the Christmas holiday!!! The flooded prison mine was super unique n funny, n all the really cool old school rides were a blast from the past!! Thank you for allowing me to experience this unbelievably awesome light show n display to celebrate the season!!! I totally love Santa in the middle of the parade n Jesus, Mary n Joseph completing the parade line up, as it should be!!! I highly recommend the Marvel Cave Tour. I know caves aren't your favorite but this cave is a must see.

I was actually at SDC on the same day you filmed this.
My family would go to SDC every year when we were on vacation, but I hadn’t been back to the park since I was 11. Fire in the Hole is very nostalgic for me, so I was happy to get to ride it one last time.
Sad to lose a classic, but here’s hoping the new one is even better.

We go to silver dollar city. Quite a bit. I love that place!! Those Hills are no joke tho. Whoa. Have you ever heard of Dogpatch USA? it is a now defunct theme park in Arkansas

I never missed riding fire-n-hole. I don't live far from Silver Dollar City used to all the time. Now a days not sure if I could handle being there all day. I would very much love to try out the new fire-n-hole! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!! 😂

It’s been years since I came here I was maybe 10 or so but I remember some stuff from it still and have some of the souvenirs from it because my grandma kept them safe
I always love to see Silver Dollar City content. It’s one of the theme parks I want to visit the most. Unfortunately, it’s one of the most difficult ones in the US to get to from where I live, so who knows when/if I’ll make it there.

It's worth it. It's a straight 12 hour drive from me but still drove home from branson one day trip. Ozarks are beautiful and so is branson

One of the employees actually posted a lights-on walkthrough of Fire in the Hole before they cleaned it out, I’d highly recommend it if you want to see the whole thing

Well, from what I can see, it’s a really popular ride and more than likely the original ride probably is gonna cost more to upgrade and repair than to build a new one. That’s my best guess.

And according to a SDC cast member, the new ride will have a narration through the entire ride telling the story onboard the cars.
There will be three main Baldknobbers in the plot, with a few additional scenes that were originally in the classic Fire In The Hole but removed for one reason or another over the years. Also according to a cast member, the burning bridge on the new ride is actually a mini hydraulic drop tower.
