Argentina already hurt them playing this way (with much more offensive flair).
Is just that the way france play is disruptive for their own demise against big oppositions that have an idea or two on how to play good offensive and defensive football. Their 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 with like almost 4 forwards and almost no midfield tracking back makes them leave tons of spaces in behind the defense which has to go man to man on the side of the ball all the time.
I believe france needs a real number 10 (double 8) that's complete on both offensive and defensive tasks and if they play with Griezman he should start as a free role man in a forward 3, not as a midfielder like he's been starting since it's clear that even if he has good defensive effort he doesnt have the defensive awareness a midfielder used to play there has.
Keeping that back 4 shape without the ball could cost them a lot against Spain.

I'm not sure if Nico Williams and Jesus Navas will play on the same side, but Spain will have a lot of pace on whatever side those two line up on. The Spanish midfield has been the best group of players in this tournament. No one has been able to match up with Ruiz, Olmo (Pedri), and Rodri. They have been perfect. My biggest concern is Cucurella. He isn't a good defender and finds himself in bad positions a lot.
Pedri is not there. Huge difference.

People in high position should consider revamping the formula and make football creative and fun again
