Watching your clips always puts me in the right frame of mind for an interview and I can't express how much I appreciate it. I never thought of expressing nerves as a no no as I have a story to go with it that sort of shows how far I've come over the years with my anxiety issues and employers always seemed impressed at my transformation. However, I think it's always easy to forget that you're talking to another human being who also might feel slightly nervous about meeting new people and making the correct decision for their work place. Following your advice helped me to secure my last role and 🤞 I hope after today to be thanking you again 🌞
Just be yourself. Those questions used to freak me out. I was too much concern that my answers would fit some kind of template. Now I don't really care. I try to make it a conversation and just being myself works best for me. Also, don't waste their time by giving very long answers. People don't like to be on those interviews, usually those are distractions from their normal job schedule.
Hello Richard! I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of the videos. Unfortunately, my last job suffered in a reduction and I lost my job. After applying and receiving 2 interviews I was able to land 1 of them. Even though I felt like I did amazing in the 1st , I found out I wasn't selected. Thankfully, another call was received, and I was able to surprise the hiring recruiter as well as the manager and district manager with alot of questions about the company. Long story short I was hired as an assistant manager. Thank you so much for all the helps and tips!

I have a suggestion for one more thing to never say during an interview: "My pronouns are..." It is tantamount to saying "You will have to walk on eggshells around me, and I will prioritize my feelings over any commitment to the job I am assigned."

I am applying as a bank teller for a top federal credit union in California. Apparently, their hiring process can be intense. First a recruiter calls you for a brief interview, then have an in-person interview with the hiring manager, and lastly an interview with the branch manager. My last interview for another job… I fell apart on the first question which was “where do you see yourself in five years?“ I thought I was ready but blanked out on the 1st question and told them I was incredibly nervous. I know now to say I’m very excited by listening to your videos. I’m having an issue with needing a job so badly that at the first hint that I feel the interview is going bad, I instantly feel I’m not gonna get it and stop answering the questions correctly. I have the skill set with a proven track record of the skills and qualities they are looking for but due to current life situation my self-esteem is so low that I just don’t believe I’m good enough to even apply let alone get an interview. Any advice? *ps- I’m already in therapy

I had an interview last week for a financial analyst supervisor and the 1st question was do you have any questions about the position. I was dumbfounded and said no but quickly thought of a question and asked. So i automatically bombed that interview. At the end of the interview, the hiring manager stated that she was asking all applicants to email their references to her and i had mine with me and provided it to her. I had about 5 questions at the end. Hopefully i scored some points for having it. Be prepared for anything.

I’m having a panel interview on wednesday as an Associate Biologist. It’s entry level and my first interview where I have to be interviewed by a panel of people and I’m really nervous. Any advice?
I was interviewing for a non-profit, and I realized that the job had a little bit more "sales" in the mix than just "operations" and asked about my experience, I recounted experience that *wasn't* on my resume, but that I thought reflected the experience a "people person" that would be walking into or talking into deals. Maybe I was right, maybe not. I am hoping to hear back soon!

I have a question please Yesterday I went for an interview for a Host/Servers at a restaurant and they asked me why I only worked at my past job for only 1 month. My past job was at a restaurant as well however, it was more of a fast food environment rather than a 5-star restaurant. The truth is that I was laid off after only working there for 4 weeks. My supervisor said that they noticed I was struggling working behind the counter and therefore thought it would be best that I find somewhere else. Obviously, I didn’t want to tell the interviewer that I was terminated due to my performance… so instead I said that I didn’t feel like the job was a right fit for me and that it was too much to take in all within 3 weeks. I also said that it was very very fast passe and it wasn’t really what I was looking for. Do you think I handled this question well? I’ve been thinking about it all day and I’m worried that I said the wrong thing.

I have the skill set with a proven track record of the skills and qualities they are looking for but due to current life situation my self-esteem is so low that I just don’t believe I’m good enough to even apply let alone get an interview. Any advice?

I had an interview last week for a financial analyst supervisor and the 1st question was do you have any questions about the position. I was dumbfounded and said no but quickly thought of a question and asked. So i automatically bombed that interview. At the end of the interview, the hiring manager stated that she was asking all applicants to email their references to her and i had mine with me and provided it to her. I had about 5 questions at the end. Hopefully i scored some points for having it. Be prepared for anything.

I was interviewing for a non-profit, and I realized that the job had a little bit more "sales" in the mix than just "operations" and asked about my experience, I recounted experience that *wasn't* on my resume, but that I thought reflected the experience a "people person" that would be walking into or talking into deals.
Maybe I was right, maybe not. I am hoping to hear back soon!

I have a question please
Yesterday I went for an interview for a Host/Servers at a restaurant and they asked me why I only worked at my past job for only 1 month. My past job was at a restaurant as well however, it was more of a fast food environment rather than a 5-star restaurant.
The truth is that I was laid off after only working there for 4 weeks. My supervisor said that they noticed I was struggling working behind the counter and therefore thought it would be best that I find somewhere else.
Obviously, I didn’t want to tell the interviewer that I was terminated due to my performance… so instead I said that I didn’t feel like the job was a right fit for me and that it was too much to take in all within 3 weeks. I also said that it was very very fast passe and it wasn’t really what I was looking for.
Do you think I handled this question well? I’ve been thinking about it all day and I’m worried that I said the wrong thing.
