i know it has nothing to do with the designs but these two seem like the sweetest couple
Nicolle they’re really so nice
I know, and she cuts his hair :)
YES I just want to squish them both
I agree 100 % they are just daring!!!! : - )
Really good gals
Applause, applause! i love the flooring, the buffet and the countertop (omg - new technology fake - love it)!!!
GREAT job. Easy to apply in many kitchens.
The shelving wall to the living area was a brilliant idea. Excellent design👌
Monica?! Amazing!!!! speechless.
I think your kitchen looks fantastic - a really good job guys, well done!
Amazing transformation!I love watching this kind of videos!!!Thank you!
I work at Lowe's and used to be a Kitchen Designer with the Home Depot. I tell ya, I absolutely love the transformation 😍🧡🖤
Fabulous.
take the extra day and demo that wall!! call it weekender + 1 day!
Absolutely Beautiful 😍❤️ !!!
such an amazing job
Amazing.
I think you are amazing
Really good job 👏
I know I'm like really late for this but where is Matt? lol
TintedRhythm I was wondering too.
She has a new person for some reason but I want to know why
Thats exactly what i was thinking for the past few episodes
Me too
love what you did... will get in touch.. i have a project. ty
Awesome 👏!:)
Love it, what was the color for the cabinets
The square pattern for the floor was a bit big for the kitchen room size. I think it made the room.look smaller
How do peel off tiles like those fare with pets? Is it scratch proof or resistant?
Love it ur awesome
How do people get picked for this show 😣 I need this level of help in my home
Same!
This lady is a beast! Her renovations are top notch! Instead of running errands like I was supposed to be, I've been watching her videos for the last few hours.
I think plan B on the wall turned out amazing. I love all the tips and tricks you teach us on how to DIY and renovate in a budget. Thanks😊
Brilliant idea.
@Brèagha I agree, because I like separation between kitchen and other rooms, so separate but visually connected.
@Lèmon Lēe A
Involving the owners in the process of "make over" are the best!
For sure they appreciate it and value it more. Also, their reactions are prestine and priceless!
I love this show!
Thanks for sharing! 😊
The only thing I don't like about this show is that I've seen them all. I love it so much and wish there was an endless supply of them!
Lexy Lily that's how I feel about Mr.Kate's channel.... I'm happy I found this. It's my first time watching and I already subscribed
Liza Dosa I love Mr Kate as well! I love being a creative weirdo!
GIRL! binged all of them in like 3 hours. lol
Ikr same I almost cried when I finished all the videos
Not to to promote another channel bc this one is so cool butttt the Sorry Sisters do similar remodel videos. The nifty channel actually has a series of these too that are cool
When Monica showed the pattern for the floor I was kind of sceptic, but.. I trust you Monica! And.. oh girl, it turned out AMAZING!!
i think her hidden talent is doing shit that NO ONE thinks will work and then it turns out amazing!
I didn't get a good look at the "threshold" she used after doing the kitchen floor. Was it raised like a toe-stubber or another clever idea?
"Amazing" is a strong word. The word you are looking for is "OK".
@@GoogleUser-fh8ek I meant exactly what I said! 😉
I wish you guys added the costs just so we can have a better idea of how much the projects are!
I think if you add all the supplies listed you would have a rough idea of cost
Cost is different in different citys / towns. Giving you an idea you take it from there. You may go to store find clearance items. Second hand store find stuff.
I had exactly the same thought!
So true...
This project would cost around $10,000 since they didn't buy new cabinets.
What I love about this series is that the transformations are real homes and they are obviously on a budget. Inexpensive changes for expensive impact. Great job!
it stresses me out so much every time i watch you use power tools & see that your hair is down lol
right lol. safety comes first. lol
I feel the same way. 🤣 🤣 🤣
I'm super impressed by how easy it was to make a buffet. Hmmm..
This transformation is a great reminder that you don't have to gut and re-configure a space in order to have a big impact. The floor is fabulous, and I love how the cut-out looks.
It might just be me but I would hug the hell out of Monica! So thankful that she does magic in a weekend. This series is amazing!
So much better love the buffet
chastity House I'm literally walking in my room measuring if I have space for one. Its so smart and functional. Great and simple build.
This couple ....so adorable and so deserving. The new energy in the room is awesome 👏🏽 never cease to amaze me with the creativity! I’m a huge fan of this series
This is a wonderful looking but especially functional transformation. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your comment, Teresa!
Monica does practical renovations that not only make functional changes but also create a beautiful space. Amazing transformation!
What a cute couple!!!
Samantha Hayes They are such a perfect match!!!
Just what I was thinking. Looks like they have a ton of fun with each other.
The upper cabinets turned into a buffet is so inspiring! Great job!
Tfs! The cabinets turned buffet cabinet with the shelving is really nice. That peel n stick flooring!! Yep! Yep! And Yes! Happy for them and nice job
My Name o
She talks too much and too loud
I love that the owners are also taking part in the renovation
I love the funky design on the floor. I also loved the buffet and the cutout. You took a limitation and worked magic.
perfect as usual!!! Can't get enough of this show. I love the floor. I love the cabinet color. Great thinking for making the wall mishap still workable. Its all awesome.
Thanks for your comment, Courtney! We're glad to hear you 💙 the show!
This is one of my favorite make overs. Probably my top three.great job!
The cut-out is BETTER than no wall. Well done, everyone
ADORABLE couple and Monica did a fantastic job not only with the design but also improvising on the wall that couldn't be removed. I am consistently surprised by her talent.
Omg, Incredible transformation & the flow is better. I love the textured drawer pulls & the flooring pattern-all the small details really set it off.
Thanks Jacinta!
It looks so good! I love the buffet and I love the plan B for the wall!
Thanks for your comment!
What a beautiful kitchen for a beautiful couple! I loved everything!!! I was so surprised on how nice the laminate counter came out. Fabulous job! Fresh and open
If they deconstructed the upper cabinets carefully, they could of sold them and made some money back...
Blue Aqua Thats what I think everytime!
Or used them for that DIY buffet instead of getting new ones
Totally understand, but it is a show with a tight turnaround
blah f Tight turnaround doesn't mean destroy and repurchase new what you already had. Its just a bunch of screws & they have the tools to remove them
We had similar upper cabinets. Took them down, painted them white and left off the doors and mounted them in the garage. They are now being used for storage.
Such a big improvement! That cabinet colour is beaut! And the shelves in the wall turned out better than removing the whole wall Imo!
that middle shelf was so smart! I at first was thinking that you should just make it smooth all the way across but the I remembered that countertop is sold in liner feet and are only sold in 2ft wide segments and with you having only the weekend of course you could get custom. But what a great solution! very chic looking and functional.
I love the design, I just wonder how durable it’s going to be.
These are great! I would love to see a buying guide link in the description box so I can go right to your site for the products used in each episode
^THIS. the GIGANTIC missing component of these videos which im assuming are meant to be promotional for lowe's, but the materials/tools being used are never described in any detail and thats seems pretty counterintuitive if viewers are meant to be able to reproduce results with lowe's stock...
True, it would be nice to just touch a link. But, since it's likely all from Lowes we can go to the Lowes website and do a quick search for the items.
I agree completely. How we gonna know how to get the exact same items used.
Ok, loving this show. I’m glad Lowe’s isn’t being too incessant with the product placement. Like, I get it, you sell all this stuff in your store! There’s no need to make a big deal about it. Five stars.
It would definitely cheapen the show and pull me out of the episode. Glad some companies are learning that subtlety is better.
Yay! Regular people 😁 i loved this episode.
very unrealistic no way regular people can do much in this project.
Kudos to Lowe's for choosing Monica for this web series. Smart and useful explanations throughout the process. Very pretty final product. Finally, a reno show that uses laminate countertops with success; they speak to lots of folks who are looking for budget- and environment-friendly countertops (would have been a good point to make). Loved the idea to cut out the window on the wall that couldn't disappear--turned out really well. Couple of minor things I disagreed with. Shelves on wall opposite the cutout wall--would have done at least two shelves to balance the volume of shelves in cutout. Would have also tweaked the DIY buffet: It seemed a little cheap and stiff looking, so would have done a seamless row of three cabinets, above them floating shelves in wall color for decorative baskets, etc. (or shorter shelves on either side of a mirror), and below, more substantial turned legs on casters for a deeper country look. Would have also preferred black captain's chairs (never mind that you can see a dark brown sofa from the dining room) with light gray nubby or fuzzy lumbar pillows.
Ahh-may-zing!!! I really couldn’t see how you were going to be able to make it more functional but you sure did!! I literally laughed out loud when you “tried” to reveal the counter top🤣
They need to stop showing the end result in the beginning, I’m tryna be surprised
hadeel k loool
hadeel k yea
I tend to skip it, I hate to see the end result first!
Lol True, but thanks to my sometimes poor memory. Once the show started I focused on the original kitchen, and the cute couple. Just that quick, I forgot the flash shot of the end result shown in the beginning.
😂😂😂
Loved everything about this and Monica you're awesome! Look at all the 'beautiful floor' comments, and I agree. The only thing I would've added is molding under the shelves of the buffet to hide the support 2"bys. Plus that would've made the shelves look heftier. Also could put simple molding under the upper shelf to make stem-ware holders, (like you and Jess did on Knock It Off where the couple hosted wine tasting at their home).
Depending on flooring in new house, I will probably be copying your floor pattern!!!
Lucienne Henneberry me too
Meetoo
Definitely agree it would be great in a bathroom as well
I fell in love with the "Peel & Stick time pattern" 💖 I am going to install this pattern in my RV. 😄 I cannot wait to see the change. Thank you for the ideas.
This design is AWESOME!! Monica! You are a genius. That floor weave pattern was beautiful. Loved the entire thing!
hi Monica, I really like your show, your idea and your execution. I think i finished one season in one go. But there is just one thing i want to say regarding safety (to whoever is considering DIY project): always tie up long hair when using power rotating tools, hair got caught in powerful rotary parts can be pulled off from (or worse, with) your skull skin in a blink of an eye. As a lab staff, we are always been told to just take action against any foreseeable hazard to avoid accident, no matter what fancy safety emergency mechanism the tool has equipped with or how professional/experienced the user is at using the tool. Looking forward to learn more design ideas/techniques from you, Cheers :]
Loved the transformation. But I specially loved this sweet couple. Thanks Monica for another wonderful episode!!
Brilliant! This couple is going to really enjoy entertaining going forward - crisp new functional space. Well done
What a great couple and awesome kitchen! May they cook wonderful meals in it.
Love the videos but in a lot of them there are cabinets or vanities that are in really good condition and could be donated but get destroyed instead.
How did you store the paint sprayer in between coats?
Just set it down, it's sealed in a sort of jar. Plus it's just a couple of hours in between coats :-)
Power tools + hair down, scarf, loose fitting hems/sleeves .... disaster in the making
Ive been wanting to do a kitchen reno for a while! This is beautifulll
Monica you are phenomenal!…You gave Kennis and Regina a magazine style open kitchen and dining area…I love it, definitely got my thumbs-up!
I am hooked on this series one episode per week is not enough. This couple was so sweet and appreciative. it made my heart so very happy for them. I love Monica's style. She understands functuality and budget !
Such a sweet couple! You've outdone yourself again, Monica!
You guys did that in a WEEKEND?! Amazing!
Woooow!!! 😮 this project turned out so beautiful!!!😍😍😍😍😍 I Love what you did with the buffet, and the floor tile..... I'm so amazed 🤔 WOW...and all of that in a single weekend? Yes, you and your team did a really great job, I would not have change a thing after you left, that is literally the picture of perfection. 🤗🤗🤗
woow,, this is my favourite from the season so far! this kitchen is dream!
These homeowners are so grateful. Love them! 🫶
Those floors turned out amazing! Loved the whole space! Come do my house please lol
Absolutely amazing makeover! As a part-time decorator myself, I love how some basic stock furniture can become custom (like the buffet unit that you made). Incredible!
this is one of the more complicated weekenders, but still done so fast
The end result was really awesome, buuuuut, I was less than impressed with the use of the countertop in the sink area that was pre-formed with the backsplash. I'm questioning why you didn't just get a sheet of desired laminate color, that are bigger ----and flat---- and make it one smooth flat surface? Passing plates and dishes, especially heavy ones, is much simpler when all you have to do is slide them. This is my own preference.
I can say most of the precut stuff is not wide. That usually costs more and is special ordered. (at least where I am)
The precut counter-tops for some reason almost always have the weird curved backsplash. While I can not say for sure, if she was on a budget and wanted to be able to just buy it off the rack, the constraints would be the style she used. I think she had a marvelous design idea for the cheaper and premade product
I would have loved to see an opening to the dinning area and not have to pass over the counter.
Monica, you're amazing! I want to create that buffet for my parents' house now 😊😊
WOW that make over came out great, wish I could do something like that but it's a rental. Thanks for sharing :) :) :)
Johnita Roberts-Huff
Try making the buffet table 😊
The floor is perfectly genius!! I also loved how the buffet turned out; you are so creative!
IT'S SO HARD TO CHOOSE WHICH PROJECT I LOVE THE MOST. IF I HAD TO CHOOSE TWO, I WOULD SAY THE BUFFET & THE KITCHEN FLOOR DESIGN.AMAZING TRANSFERMATIONS.
I really hope one day I can afford to give my grandma a kitchen make over. She really needs it. I know it stresses her out not having room for stuff. I liked this see through kitchen👍🏼
Going to places like restore that repurposes cabinets and appiances will go a long way in saving money
I’m totally making that buffet, I love it!! 😍
At the end I feel like now kitchen can breath
It’s perfect 👌🏻
it's nice to have a big space to work on..especially renovating the house..the result is good.
I wonder when they’re doing casting again
Oh how i love your project! How i wish we have those high tech construction equipments here in the Philippines... Hmmm... Maybe we have those but we all know how expensive they are.... Congrats and more power 😊
Loving the Weekender one of my favs episodes on UA-cam
Ok lets take out these cabinets and um idk, put cabinets back here. Lets fix those horrible peel and stick tiles with.. different peel and stick tiles. The idea of refreshing a space is cool but.. c`mon. c`mon. I prefer a fortnighter than a weekender if the project has more quality or more bang for the buck.
so much better nice and open now woww awesome
This was an excellent quick and economical opening up of the two rooms. But the floor design was too big and bold and looks lopsided in such a narrow gallery footprint. Just using the narrow plank tiles in a herringbone pattern would have solved the lopsided problem but still given you that wow factor Monica was going for. Also, a much needed dash of contrast to break up the overall white walls and cabinets can be achieved by the homeowners in the future by widening the shelves and trim in the wall cutout with a darker wood stain. And by repeating that same look with a series of shelves on the opposite wall the same dash of contrast would replace that one high dinky shelve near the door. Also then the crockery on that corner of the counter could be placed on those shelves freeing up more work space. More contrasting color can be easily added by replacing the hanging woven basket tray with a larger painting, art photograph or series of grouped smaller framed art. When their finances warrant it the homeowners should accent the now wide open counter space joining the two rooms with a couple of sleek but dazzling ceiling hung pendant lights. Finally, the slanting ceiling doesn't work well with a traditional rod and drape set up. A roman shade inset into the dining room window casing would look cleaner and more attractive.
Love it! You have given me ideas for my kitchen! Very nice 🤗😍
I was so glad to see how you build the buffet from the upper cabinets! We want to do that, and you showed me how! Thank you!
that kitchen was gorgeous!! I love that peel and stick floor with the mixed media
Thanks for your comment!
Whenever i watch these shows I think How you could have saved those cabinets -habitat for HumanityOr something can be salvaged from them. BUT carry on 😳🤗
so many brilliant DIY tips.
