Me too! I was so excited to see a new episode! Of course I have been binging ever since 🤷🏼♀️ BTW green is my favorite color. I love olives, khakis, no forest green! I grimace every time I see it.
I love the color, just needs to tie it to the rest of the room. Maybe paint a plant pot or plant stool, and add some of the green in the pillows or artwork. I hope that bench lifts up for storage. Nice tile choice. Cool idea for blinds on bench, but beware with cats or kids. Love the egg chair. Would make a cool photo op with all the wedding party and guests each photographed in the chair! Couples sitting together. 💕
Thanks for watching everyone!! Saw lots of comments/questions about the HVAC behind the bench - don't you worry... that was part of the old system, so we were able to cover it and it didn't impact the room. Matt V would never just build over :) You guys have eagle eyes - I love it!! We just don't have time to explain every little thing in an episode, but If you're thinking of doing something similar and do have an active vent - you could A- Reroute it or B -get an extender and put a vent on the face of your bench.
Monica!!!!! What the heck!!!! You disappeared and left us with new age cookie cutter flippers! Not a single second of creativity!!!!!! I can not believe how deeply I missed your creativity and beautiful presence! You look absolutely fabulous! If ever you get tired of your hour glass figure, let me know!!! I'll clean out my bank account to get that! You are killing it, body, braids and a brain! Do not go MIA again please! These other channels are the same thing, different spouse/partner, yuck! You get my mind racing, do not do the MIA thing again please! 2 weekends with your creativity and I now know what I am going to do to my living room!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰! Thank you, you were missed terribly!
So happy Monica and The Weekender are back! This was a lovely room transformation, I like the soft palette with pops of colour and that window blind hack was genius! Keep these episodes coming! :)
Oh my gosh! I can't beleive Monica is back!!! I watched all her Weekender videos several times over and then she was gone. So sad. Thank you Thank you!!!
What a fabulous house! I'd love to see the whole thing. Monica took the living room from oldy moldy to bright and livable. I hadn't even noticed the alcove. Time constraints understood but it is a shame the bench wasn't made for storage. Boho isn't my style but I do appreciate different decor. I like that the room is modernized but doesn't erase all the original elements. Congrats to the homeowners on their surprise wedding and a beautiful home.
Fantastic makeover. Happy wedding, Jess and Cary!!!! Would love to see the crew back again to help the happy couple in other parts of this gorgeous home. So happy for you two!
Good Evening Monica, I am so happy to see you back again. I Love your episodes! I have been following you for years and I have enjoyed every design you have done throughout your designing career. I love what you have designed for this living room. It really fits the home owner’s style and has brought cohesion to the home’s appearance with an update that goes with today. Nice, fresh and tidy. Thank you for sharing your talents. 🥰 Chris P.S. Thank You Lowe’s for having Monica’s Fantastic Designs represent Lowe’s. She is my Favorite Designer. ❤️❤️❤️
I have a home from the 1950s. The family room which was an add on. Is the only room in the house with wood beams and brown cheap paneling. Everything thing else in the house is white trim and a very light gray color. So I painted the wood beams and the paneling to match the rest of the house. My son, of course, hates when wood is painted. But it is my house. My grandson who is four said he likes it.
I love boho so this makeover to me is amazing . I really loved everything you used to style it and especially the bench thats my favorite. Congratulations to the couple on their wedding. Great job Monica.
Sooo good 👍 I love how it turned out. I'm not gonna lie when she starting painting the mantle that bright green I was unsure, but it really added a nice pop to the space. I need to apply for the weekender I need Monica's help.
@MonicaManginEastCoastCreativeBlog so glad you are back to inspire me in my new apartment 🥰 The transformation its just gorgeous and all me 😍 TY and can't wait for the next one 😁 just wish it was every weekend instead of every other 😉 Love from the UK 🇬🇧
I understand that in the short time you had to put this together that there isn't time for everything. I LOVE the bench, but since EVERYONE always needs more storage not making it a hinged top so that it could store things was a shame. Hopefully, they will feel inspired to do some of their own DIY and transform that into a storage area as well as a pretty bench. The green mantel is nice, I admit I would have gone with a deep burgundy wine stain that used the red tones instead of hiding them but admittedly it would have been a darker mood. I think a splash of dark can help anchor a room that is otherwise light and airy but I get why you went the way you did.
On painting nice wood, it does make me cringe. But after restoring several painted pieces, I wish people would put a clear varnish on the wood before they paint it. It will make the piece easy to strip later if someone desires.
I wish they would have done a solid tile on the fireplace, then used something else ( tile) to frame it out , or a different kind of tile, it looks so busy and doesn't help the room. I was concerned why they covered up a vent with the bench, no cut out for it (?) I look at a lot of the details, not just " Oooo and Aaaaa " of a makeover. I also realize time constraints, it would have been great to use a Piano Hinge ( or two ) to be able to use that bench for storage.
Yes! I agree 100% -- also they said the pink tile would not work with what they had planned for the room, but then painted the shelf pink and included a lot of peach and pink decor.
The front of the bench lets air through? Making it storage would have prevented that? The tile is a matter of taste and it’s a big ceiling height. It can take it. Honestly I think it’s nice. They wanted a more modern boho take.
Looks great and I love the bench, but it looked to me like there was a heating duct (or return) on the wall that is now covered and will effect the HVAC system.
Nicely done, BUT the color of that mantle isn’t working. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I still say you could have sanded it down and matched it to the existing wood beams on the ceiling with a stain. I would substitute some of the contemporary decor pieces with a few quality vintage items, that would give a nod to the boho theme and the character of the house. That all being said, welcome back, Monica!
I've been watching your videos for a min. Lol. I'm on #10. Monika you are a design genius but as importantly you are a kind and beautiful person. I watch a lot of these and I always left with disappointment over an element blah blah blah but you have a gift and another gift. I wish you all the best. Thank you for incredible knowledge. Peace, love and hair grease.
Beautiful room and makeover! I love the bench nook see the most. The green mantle stands out a bit too much. It doesn’t compliment anything else in the room. Maybe a different tone ?
I love that this series is back! However, that mantel was better left alone. If you absolutely had to paint it why not paint it in the wood tone you wanted. That green clashes in this space. If you wanted a green, should have gone with a hunter green, this is way to bright
I love these episodes! They give me hope and inspiration for my own space. I often wonder, though, what the overall cost for the whole makeover ends up being? Or on average, how much do these weekend makeovers cost? I’m wanting to budget for a future room makeover on my own.
Sooo nice to see online again! At first, I wondered how you would tie the mantle colour into the home, but SMACK!! There was very little green in the room except for a few pieces of art. And I REALLY LIKE how everything doesn't have to match! I like it way more than modern, minimalist styles. You are starting a trend Monica -- little matching with the green but WoW, how the green went well with the terra cotta colour all 'round. It has amazing character! So many congrats to you and to the new couple on their wedding day!
I love the green mantel, even though painting real mahogany makes me want to cry. I'm in the no-paint-over-wood camp but you definitely can have too much wood in a room.
I really like your style, I love the way you build things and you don't hesitate to use any power tool. I would love to put some work at my house, thank you for all your videos.
I love this house! I just have to say I liked it better before - all the architectural details were so pretty. Boho is not my style but I’m not the homeowner- they deserve the look they want and there were some nice touches.
Wow, I really am impressed with how it turned out. I half expected a mid-century hobbit house mashup, but this is really great. I live in the adjoining township, so maybe I'll find their house and drop off a belated wedding present!
Another amazing make over Monica thanks so much for the amazing content and ideas. Im going through you episodes one by one. Loved everything so far. My one and only niggle out of the 5 episodes ive seen so far was the colour of the mantel in this video. It reminded me of mushy peas from a british fish and chip shop :P just a little. But once it was on the wall with the tiles it actually didnt look that bad. Keep going at it girl :D
Not a fan of the green color on the mantel and other than a teeny bit of green in one (possibly two) art piece, I didn't see how it was married to the other colors used in the room. Liked the lighting you added around the room. The blue egg chair, same comment as with the green, did not see how it tied in elsewhere in the room. Both colors looked random and not part of an overall palette. The overall design was very nice and suits the house but doesn't look fussy.
So glad Monica's back! Watched all her old eps when they first came out. She's such a great host & designer. Hope she stays for awhile!
For ever you mean? 🤩
Me too! I was so excited to see a new episode! Of course I have been binging ever since 🤷🏼♀️ BTW green is my favorite color. I love olives, khakis, no forest green! I grimace every time I see it.
Hi Jane😮😮
That house (particularly the exterior) is incredible! Love how soft and calm the living room turned out.
Room is beautiful. Having a little trouble with the green mantle, but everything else is great.
My initial reaction was yuck. But it looks better than when it was mahogany stain.
Same
I love the color, just needs to tie it to the rest of the room. 💕
I'm glad you didn't darken the walls. It allows it to really stand out with those gorgeous beams!
Thanks for watching everyone!! Saw lots of comments/questions about the HVAC behind the bench - don't you worry... that was part of the old system, so we were able to cover it and it didn't impact the room. Monica, this was awesome! You brightened up the room and brought it up to date. Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful job.
Glad to SEE Mónica back! I am a fan of you! Great designar and host! María Noel from URUGUAY!
I love Monica and her ideas are off the hook! ANOTHER space that is amazing! Glad she is back....
Yes! She is amazing at what she does and so sweet
Great home and I love these homeowners. They are definitely cool!
Thank goodness for another season of The Weekender, finally! Now, don’t take Monica & her genius makeovers away from us again!😂
Glad to see that Monica is back! I'm ready to start some new projects!
So happy Monica and The Weekender are back! This was a lovely room transformation, I like the soft palette with pops of colour and that window blind hack was genius! Keep these episodes coming! :)
I'm so glad they brought back The Weekender. Reminds me that Lowes really has some great stuff
I'm just so 😊 you are back Monica ! Beautifully done as usual!
Oh my gosh! I can't beleive Monica is back!!! I watched all her Weekender videos several times over and then she was gone. So sad. Thank you Thank you!!!
So glad this series is back!!! I was so disappointed when it stopped!
SAME!!

"a great drop zone for keys, etc" - fills the key bowl with a giant wooden chain link.
...I know 🙄😆... you have to ask yourself..." uhmmmm...why do that..." ..
Fantastic makeover. Happy wedding, Jess and Cary!!!! Would love to see the crew back again to help the happy couple in other parts of this gorgeous home. So happy for you two!
I hope they have a beautiful wedding! such a unique style, you did a great job Monica!
I love this designer's work! Please come help me! This room is beautiful and everything this young lady does is spectacular!
I'm so happy you're back!!!
Love the green, love the tile. I love how you brought in the different colors even in the earthy palette. I'm totally here for it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yay! You're back! 🎉🥳

Well done! Love the mantle. Wouldn’t have thought green and blue tile. But diggin the decor! Congrats on the upcoming nuptials! Blessings always ❤️👵🏻

I looove the window nook!!!
Maybe I wouldn't have used the green colour for the mantel, but this is personal style.

Sooo good 👍 I love how it turned out. I'm not gonna lie when she starting painting the mantle that bright green I was unsure, but it really added a nice pop to the space. I need to apply for the weekender I need Monica's help.
Love love love! I love that it looks like a fairy-tale house on the exterior and modern and cozy in the interior.
great point
What a great house that is. I would trust Monica to redo every room in my house.
Yay. Weekender in the cottage. Love it. Boho is not really my style but this was a very cute makeover. Happy wedding day y’all. 🥰
Wow that was a big transformation
Magazine worthy! Monica kills it again! I love it
I am so happy that you have a new season! I love your videos. I have watched all - so I am ecstatic that you have new ones coming up!
One of my favorites, because it’s MY style. I can recreate this for myself. Thanks Monica!
Yay! Monica's back!!!!! ♥️ Fantastic job, as usual! I wish you could help me with my home!
Monica, I love everything you do. I could spend hours in Lowes. Thanks for all your great inspiration.
Welcome back Monica! So excited to have new Weekender episodes! Super cute boho look. ❤️ the bench and drop zone!
This is one of the most adorable houses I’ve ever seen!
I understand that in the short time you had to put this together that there isn't time for everything. I agree about the bench and the mantle. I was sure the bench would have a hinged lid.
What about the heat vent that the bench covered?
@@lisabraybrook5694 That is what I noticed as well. I do love the way they used the roll up blinds though.
I love the floor lamp. I think I am going to get that piece.
On painting nice wood, it does make me cringe. But after restoring several painted pieces, I wish people would put a clear varnish on the wood before they paint it. It will make the piece easy to strip later if someone desires.
Good top!
Everything about this space is awesome.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Monica...you make it all come together and look amazing.
Can't wait for the next one! Cheers
It's all GORGEOUS!!! Those beams are EVERYTHING. I need to figure out how to do that. Monica I need your HELP!!!

Welcome back! Looking forward to seeing more of your make over videos. One question what happened to the vent that was where you put the window seat ?
I'm happy to see this series back!
I love the room, so warm and inviting. Very talented designer.
Seriously.....LOVE everything!

Really enjoying the Weekender!

Not sure about the tile choice tho 🥺
I love the layered rugs!
Beautiful Monica - glad you are back!

Came here from Lone Fox’s channel! Fun! 🇨🇦
Wow, I really am impressed with how it turned out. I half expected a mid-century hobbit house mashup, but this is really great. I live in the adjoining township, so maybe I'll find their house and drop off a belated wedding present!
