Great video! My Man says seasoning is for aristocrats 😂 going for that natural taste, the original Lord’s seasoning.
Sounds like Dick Tracy from the 50s making us a meal. Awesome.

One thing the weber does well is chicken thighs, just got done with a dozen on mine and they were tasty
Agreed. That said. I love cooking Chicken on my Pellet and my Masterbuilt. Sounds like a showdown:)>..
Put a 10lb butt on that thing and let's se if it can do it

Good memories cooking on this type way back in the day.
Great video very high quality, well done.
Darryl. Cheers and thanks-).
Can never go wrong with a Weber Kettle!
Its the standard in backyard grilling.
Looks awesome Tommy!
Thanks Tom. So far, so good. I kinda dig the hinge although to the eye. Its a tad fugazy
Should I buy one of these to park next to my mb560?
I mean. Personally, I love it. Such precise grilling once dialed in.
That’s a pretty nice new Weber you got I love me some smoked chicken thighs
Frac. Thanks brother. Enjoy.
Webers Never Disappoint!! Happy Friday Tommy and have a great and safe weekend. 😊👍
You too brother. Doing a Masterbuilt Weber Rib showdown! Oh yeah. Gonna be killer.
Looking good
Bob Cooney
Thanks Bob.
Love the features of this kettle. For the love of all things sacred can Weber figure out the wobbly legs? LOL Cheers Tommy
Rob. I hear you brother. Thanks man and Enjoy!
Come on man, the wobbly legs are part of its charm right?... LOL
Thank you for your highly polished video, I found it to be quite informative and helpful. I simply loved it. A question to send your way…
What did you use to secure the iGrill2’s thermometer probe close to the surface of the grill grate? I haven’t been able to figure that out for the life of me! ;) In any case, it was a wonderful idea and I would like to try it. Thanks in advance for continuing to share your knowledge!
John. Awesome post buddy!! We here at the GBBBQ try are best! Enjoy the long weekend!
Enjoy your videos and trying to learn how to cook on this weber kettle. Why do you put a pan under your chicken for indirect cooking?
Brand new pit and I diden't want to dirty it up.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What was the point of the metal tray on the right side? Great video!
Water pan.
Great video, did you wipe down with oil or just a clean cloth?
Oil at the end.
I just replaced a 25-year-old Weber kettle that I haven't used in years with a brand new 22 inch master touch and I just cannot wait to pop her cherry, I know it's vanity but I also got the searing grate. I have a very nice Weber Genesis 2 three burner propane however, I think that grill is going to be full of spider webs in no time, I have no interest in propane any longer!
Sounds awesome. Have you seen my latest content. Brand new Weber SmokeFire!
@@thegalleryBBQ yes, I've been doing a deep dive on your channel and I appreciate the content. I'm excited about barbecuing again and that's a great thing!
Good looking chicken thighs Tommy! That is my favorite! Cheers!
Agreed. Thanks brother and Enjoy your Sunday!
Doing my first burn currently and I’m noticing A LOT of smoke coming out of the top of the lid… I noticed yours did also… does it eventually stop?
It will.
The customer service is tremendous at Weber… they are actually sending me a new lid … mine was slightly misshaped and it didn’t sit properly … they said to keep using the lid I have for now and they will send me a new one .. also sending me a return label and just send back the “damaged one “. Love Weber
How do you keep the removable center part of the cooking grate from crashing to the ground when hanging the grate on the side of the grill?
Sorry not sure on that and im away from the pit.
put some paper clips on it
I'm also wondering how he did that...
Probably had the zip-ties on and they burned in the grate and stuck to it....
Or this guy is a magician.
I'm making chicken thighs on my Kamado Joe right now. How do you like the Weber?
Steve. So far, so good.
Looks delicious. Would definetly demolish that with a nice cold beer.
Tony. Thanks for the support. Its much appreciated!
All that wood and bricks for two thighs. wow.
Thanks for the comment. Cooked some other stuff just diden't film it.
Looks like it's got a huge smoke leak issue which indicates not a good seal
First cook needs time to season and seal up. She's tight.
I seen a couple of vids of them having leak issues. I can’t remember who it was but they flipped the springs around on the hinge and it sealed up a lot better. And why didn’t you use the deflection plate and ring?
@@hk3248 Due time. And as far as any leaking. Any and all grills need tome to season and seal up. Thats BBQ 101. Thanks for the question and stay tuned.
Ouuuhh looks delicious
It was! Thanks for watching.
When you hang the grill how do you stop the GBS from falling out
GBS??
@@thegalleryBBQ the middle of the grill gourmet bbq system
@@elmin2323 Ive never had a problem Sorry.
Hi, I am trying to decide between the 5770 and the standard master touch 5755 without the Hinge lid; I see that the ring and plate are a huge benefit but is there still issues with the hinge after a fix? and with Gasket tape - basically is it not worth the risk and just to get the standard master touch because of the lid not closing - or is it resolved nowadays/ fixed with the hack? what would you recommend between the two models?
Hello. Both are awesome. LMK what you decide gallerybbq@gmail.com
Hey, you posted 7 months ago which grill did you decide upon, and how do you like it?
@@daleadmire1451 Hi Dale, I went with the 5755; the old school style without the hinge. Basically I feel that Weber has not been able to deliver a competent hinged lid, try one in a store if you can; it just does not seal and even with the hinge hacks online and gasket tape I still heard that it leaks smoke ie heat so if you are into smoking then that is a problem. I think it will take the second iteration before it’s worth buying and just stay with the tried and tested version that works and has no faults, that is my opinion. Hope that helps, let me know what you are planning to use it for and if you have any questions?
@@finnishchaga oh good for you! I got the same exact one in classic black, I feel that spring loaded hinge is just a lot of unnecessary fluff. I could not be happier with my grill I did get the Weber sear grate and the whole system is just simple and wonderful.
@@finnishchaga for some reason they discontinued it
Great grill congratulations! Where can I find it?? I’ve been looking for it but doesn’t pop up online. What’s the price!
Unfortunately, I'm not sure weber still sells it. Shame because its awesome!
It really is a shame. Enjoy that grill and thanks for the response
Great video! Can you explain why you check the temp of the chicken a few times?
To make sure its done
I see you’re grilling over a wood deck. Do you ever get any hot ash leakage?
dunlopgp, not with the weber! Awesome kettle.
NIce one Sir!
Thank you! Cheers!
You do realize chicken thighs are very cheap you can get a whole big pack for like four bucks why light the grill for just 2?
Did you just pull of chicken at 160F?
Alex, Yes(165) And when I do whole chicken its 165 at the breast. 185 at the chciken leg.
Dang, my 22” is 15 years old and still looks new. Guess I need an upgrade. 🤦🏼♂️😂😂🥃
Haha. Thanks Mike.
Great vid! Only the color to black&white to color transition hurt my eyes :P
Sorry about that, Enjoy and hope to see you again!

Looks really good. I am playing with my Red Classic Kettle at the moment, giving the Masterbuilt a rest. My kettle came with baskets but I bought a SnS and have never used the baskets. Interesting that you put them side by side. Most videos I watch separate them and cook indirect between them. You obviously get a bigger sear zone with them together. Any pros and cons for together vs separated?
Dave. I sometimes seperate, sometimes not. Not sure of any benefits. That said. Stay tuned for my Masterbuilt vs Weber rib show down.! Im really looking forward to that!
Hahaha!!!
Nice looking grill .. I really like the new handle and hinge for the lid . Those thighs looked delicious too .. Great job brother
Thanks 👍 and have a great weekend.
You can tell he didn't wash the chicken because it's all knotted up and defrosted out of the microwave because of the cooked edges, so here's the question, Wash or Not to Wash Your Chicken?
YOU DO NOT, REPEAT, YOU DO NOT WASH POULTRY!
Does that Weber have a pre punched hole for a fan?
Not that im aware of.
That's kinda overkill to use such big grill for 2 chicken pieces
Primary use of the fuel was for the initial burn in...
not even close to enough seasoning…
This looks great. Almost too complicated for a charcoal grill though unlike the old time Weber’s. One level. Now there multiple levels. Inner rings. Outer rings. Etc. just a lot of stuff to think about what goes where. Looks amazing though nice video.
And ill be putting them all to the test:)...Enjoy your weekend!
True but this is the high end. Their basic hasn’t changed - at all!
you got the tools., but doing it wrong :(
Thanks. I guess! Oh, and make sure you check out my mastertouch beef rib and brisket cook out this weekend! Cheers.
Tommy enjoy your chicken thighs. Have a great weekend
Thanks, you too!
Well ?

Hey Tommy, I don’t know about you but as much as I like a nice juicy breast I think the thigh is my favorite piece of chicken it just never disappoints anyways that grill is looking good I think that hinged lid makes a big difference but that’s just me. Wondering if you ever tried Guy Fieri‘s pacific rim Asian barbecue and wok sauce crazy long name but it’s awesome on chicken my go to sauce. Kind of hard to explain a little hot ginger chili sesame sauce try it I think you’d like it anyways keep the videos coming🇺🇸👍
John. Ive not tried Guy's stuff but ill look into it. I love the Thigh, Esp. on the grill cooked with BBQ sauce. To me, its classic backyard BBQ becuase its cheap. Enjoy brother.
The Gallery Backyard BBQ Couldn’t agree more cheap good for you and delicious you usually don’t get those three things in barbecue👍
