It’s crazy how far in college you can fall in less then a year. One missed field goal from a national title and now here it is. I don’t think teams will fall this far going forward with a 12 team playoff. I blame the system but also bad coaching last night
Ohio State had fallen? They went 11-1 in the regular season, lost to Michigan by one score and has a great recruiting class coming in. The loss to Missouri was because they had to start a backup QB with virtually no playing time and when he got injured the had to go to a QB with even less experience. Ohio State fans are getting as fragile as Michigan fans.
I love how he's coined as the coach who's "born on third base". He's given the world and takes a happy meal. The guy can recruit, gotta give him that....
ok as an OSU fan this game was painful to watch, Ryan Day shouldn't be fired, but a lot needs to change. For one he shouldn't be the OC, he was great under Urban Meyer but the combination of HC and OC is keeping him from being able to call a damn football game. If he stays the head coach but hires a new offensive coordinator Ohio State should be fine
How are you losing when your team is riddled with 4 & 5 Star Players and you have YEARS upon YEARS of Top Recruiting Classes? Answer, the Coach isn't that good.
Jim Harbaugh lost multiple times to TOSU . 8 straight and 7 straight for TOSU this minimum. The rivalry goes back and forth in chunks. That's what makes it different. You are right about Ryan not being great . He is the best TOSU can get. If all his stars align he can win like Dabo or Lane. They all can't adjust for the talent they have. It has to fit into the system they run. Saban, Kirby and urban are rare. They can make great teams around the talent they have not a system they run.
Really! You think Day is the best Ohio State can get? With there history as one of the best blue bloods of all time, come on, until recently they had the highest winning percentage all time in college football! This ideology has weakened us as a society and as a Country because it takes away a person's desire for competition and their willingness to set goals and work hard to accomplish them so you can enjoy the feeling of being a winner. Winners win and losers lose and somebody has to win and someone has to lose. Until we get back to letting people taste the agony of defeat we're going to keep going downhill because you're taking away the fire that burns inside of all of us to overcome adversity and achieve that feeling of success and being a winner. #MattBMrClean #MattBBald #MattBGreat

It's fun when they are good or even better than Michigan; because then I could root for Michigan to upset them and knock them out of championship contention.. Now I almost feel sorry for them. Last night they literally had who looked like a linebacker playing QB and it was just miserable to watch..
The rivalry will always be there. Ryan Day won't kill it any more than John Cooper did. And I will always be for Michigan (and anyone else!) against Ohio State!!
The two issues that must change imo 1. We have to stop neglecting recruiting on both lines. 2. Ryan Day needs to hire a badass offensive play caller. He just can't get out of his own way sometimes
Correct me if im wrong but ohio state is sorta going through what Nebraska was going through a couple of years ago. Back when Nebraska still had very high standards. The head coach at the time (forgot name) was getting them to 10-2, 9-3 seasons and the fanbase was unhappy with performance so they fired him. Needless to say, nebraska never reach those heights since. Now if ohio state fires ryan day, could this same thing happen? Probably not, but i would imagine they would under perform for at least a year or two under a new coach. Be careful what you wish for is all i can say. #MattBeClappingRyanDay
@@biztranfsboPeople called for Tom Osborne’s head too at first. He would win pretty much every game but he couldn’t win the “big ones”. Everyone wanted him fired until he was finally able to break through and field dominant teams. Now he is considered one of the best coaches in CFB history.
Depends who they hire if they get rid of Day. Urban Meyer had Ohio State at the top when he left and if they could get him back he could probably get them back there. The problem is IDK that UM wants to coach anymore. Outside of that idk who else could get them over the hump that would be willing to go there. They also have to remember it’s not going to just be Michigan they are competing against since Oregon and Washington are coming in next year. I think Ohio State is going to have to get a better coach if they want to do better than 10-2 or 11-1.
I agree. Ohio State fans are overreacting. They're buying into all the negative outside media reaction to what's going on. SEC fan boys like Matt be Great who love to bash Big Ten teams distort things. The Ohio State program is fine. They just had one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. They do have a QB issue to sort out but there's no reason to think they won't be able to. This is just people piling on to them.
It's hard to get an elite coach. The people who have to make the decision are poorly equipped to pick a coach because an elite coach will always have some noticeable personality trait that makes them uncomfortable. When UM got with Harbaugh and they met in the middle, Jim takes half pay but keeps his job, that was uncommonly wise.
You don't NEED a big name. Jim Tressel was a *Division I-AA coach* when tOSU hired him. You need a GOOD COACH who can build an OFFENSIVE LINE and make Ohio State a PHYSICAL team again.
As a Boston College fan, please fire him because we would love to hire him. It’s hilarious watching Ohio State fans lose their minds over losing 2 games in one year.
Good point about Lincoln Riley. He is a decent coach but we know he is going to lose 3-5 games a year. He doesn't have high expectations on him. Why they pay him all that money is another subject.
No one looks at Ryan Day as “I want to play for that guy.” He has ZERO Grit; he’s not competitive; nothing! I don’t know what he has over our heads, but he must have some serious dirt… We can’t get away from this disaster.
Harbaugh was given 5 years of losing to Ohio state. He had NFL experience and has a brother helping him from the NFL with coaches from his team. Ryan Day never was a head coach before taking over from Urban Myer. But he is learning, and he was getting screwed over by Harbaugh, not just in the game, but even legally since the FBI is involved with the investigation. But he barely lost in Ann Arbor. So why don't you rest your neck and worry about Alabama. Rest assured, Ryan Day is going to be stomping the shit out of Michigan for quite a while coming up..
I am bot saying Ryan Day doesnt have some faults and work to do. He is on track that if he coached 28 yrs like Woody, he will blow away all of the records. He is is on track to have over 300 plus wins by the end of his career. He recruits well, he just has to get the pieces together with coaches and players.
So Matt, let's say Ohio State does fire Ryan Day, then who do you say should hire to replace him that would be an elite great head coach? Ohio State needs to know that before they fire Day. Name some names. Urban Meyer is not coming back and dealing with the transfer portal and NIL headaches.

yep, most people hate to hear the truth. this year has to be the final example of Days incompetence. The big 10 was horrible this year and day squandered talent like harrison , Saban would have beat Indiana and the rest by 50 with this team and the young players would be on the field in the second half , also there would be no QB fiasco , Saban would not of let quinn ewers go, hell wisconsins second string QB was better than any QB for osu. even so , teams like Alabama are much better at developing players and calling plays. Sadly this program is on a downward spiral spite of some good talent on the field . Thanks for speaking the glaring truth.
If Ohio state doesn’t change their program they are going to continue this trend. This is all going to hurt them down the road. Look at how these players are vacating the team. Not good!
Matt is a true delusional fan who probably never touch college athletics...to want to fire a 11-2 coach is insane.. I guarantee he would never say some of the disrespectful stuff to some of these athletes and coaches face...
Buckeye fan for over 56 years. Seen plenty of OSU football history. I said it after the 1st OSU loss to Michigan: The Era of Mediocrity has begun. How does a top football university with a ton of QB talent for a decade end up with no QB talent?? It defies logic. As for all those players that opted not to play in Cotton Bowl: If you take the NIL money, you play all the dam games. I don't ever want to see, again, starters standing on the side lines at a bowl game while 2nd and 3rd stringers are given the task of salvaging OSU's football reputation. You lost the dam Michigan game. Get your asses in their and win the bowl game. The level of greed and self-serving attitudes in this program, from the coaching staff to the players, is disgusting. But what's sad, is Day's not going to do a dam thing about any of it. He sits at the top of the problem heap.
If you are a true buckeye fan, you would know ONLY Marvin chose to sit out of the Cotton Bowl, and it was only becauset he coaches urged him not to play sicne he is a top 5 (20 million dollar bonus) draft pick.
In my opinion Players should be mandated to complete their team responsibilities for an entire season as part of the privilege of playing for the institution regardless of post season opportunities, aka: NIL, NFL or transfer portal.
Ryan Day knows his days are numbered because our program is about excellence and winning all of our matchups every season. The BUCKEYES and the BUCKEYE fans don't take it lightly losing consecutive games to Michigan. I believe OSU is eyeballing the idealistic candidate to occupy the HC position successfully and can live up to the expectations of our program. #MattBeLikeWhoa!

It isn't about being ungrateful but I honestly feel that Ryan Day's time as OSU's HC is being very closely monitored because of the failure to capitalize on the talent that has been recruited I have nothing against the man. Considering that the state of Ohio has immense high school football talent, OSU could build a national title caliber team without ever recruiting out of state. No excuse for Ryan Day not to have multiple national titles at OSU.
Really because the state of Ohio is struggling in that are because they're not permitted to have the spring football states like Texas, Georgia and Florida have where all the talent is coming from. That's why Ohio State brings in so many recruits from those states. If Day wasn't get those recruits it would be problem.
@@ScottCleve33 Ohio State is a top 5 high school recruiting state for major college football! I believe I heard they were #4 nationally, only Texas, Florida, and probably California would be ahead of them, just because of those states being much higher populated states to choose from! 🌰🏈

Mad props, you were clearly right.

Apparently none of those 4 and 5 star players were offensive linemen...

He reminds me of the people today that believes everyone should get a trophy and not have to compete for it. I don't know when we became so soft as human beings but this deal that everyone is a winner to keep from hurting someone's feelings. This ideology has weakened us as a society and as a Country because it takes away a person's desire for competition and their willingness to set goals and work hard to accomplish them so you can enjoy the feeling of being a winner. Winners win and losers lose and somebody has to win and someone has to lose. Until we get back to letting people taste the agony of defeat we're going to keep going downhill because you're taking away the fire that burns inside of all of us to overcome adversity and achieve that feeling of success and being a winner.

you nailed it. You should check into the Day family. His son is a 17-year-old freshman in high school and plays quarterback.
Bo Pellini I think his name was
Frank solich was his name. 10 win seasons, 9 win seasons, they wanted more.
No matter what your record is if you lose to your biggest rival you are on the hot seat.
Always a good day watching your videos
You must not have much of a life.
Happy New Years @MattBeGreat ! Love your channel!🤩
You’re not the only one that’s said this. I’ve been saying it for 2 years with videos to prove it.

Question what Big name is gonna replace Ryan Day(other than Urban Meyer).
You don't NEED a big name. Jim Tressel was a *Division I-AA coach* when tOSU hired him.
You need a GOOD COACH who can build an OFFENSIVE LINE and make Ohio State a PHYSICAL team again.
I think you need a person with good judgment, who’s truly got the best interests of OSU at heart. Simple, but not easy
There are many OSU fans that has been saying this from the day he officially took the reins as HC.
It’s sad because I like Day a lot but he’s a head case and not cut out for this job. It’s like giving the keys to your lambo to your 16 year old
As a Boston College fan, please fire him because we would love to hire him. It’s hilarious watching Ohio State fans lose their minds over losing 2 games in one year.
Lincoln Riley isn’t a fraud. He has accomplished more than Saban did at 40. Saban didn’t win his 1st title until his 50s.
Explain his recruiting classes being so consistently good. It’s not just money.
The jig is up. No more easy recruiting.
Days suppose to be one of the best play callers around only 100 yards passing 😂
Nebraska fan here, our AD fired Frank Solich after a 9-3 Season and look at us now.
LOL! Sounds like you are talking about Tom Osborne in the 70’s & 80’s. Looked how that turned out.
So Matt, let's say Ohio State does fire Ryan Day, then who do you say should hire to replace him that would be an elite great head coach? Ohio State needs to know that before they fire Day. Name some names. Urban Meyer is not coming back and dealing with the transfer portal and NIL headaches.

This is a terrible take. He's a great coach who brings in great talent. Give him more time lol. Dude can't beat Missouri with his like 5th string QB in a meaningless bowl game and everyone is losing their minds. "O we can't beat Michigan". Y'all have dominated Michigan the past 20 years and have lost the last couple....chill. As an Illinois fan y'all have it good, don't be ungrateful.
It isn't about being ungrateful but I honestly feel that Ryan Day's time as OSU's HC is being very closely monitored because of the failure to capitalize on the talent that has been recruited I have nothing against the man. He is solid and has produced for us however the higher-ups are very exacting. Hopefully, with the season to come, he'll be able to continue to capitalize on his success and nip the Michigan challenge in the bud.@@Banana16386
