I'm watching this with my daughter and she just said "Dad, wouldn't it be cool if the locusts blew up and did damage when they died..." Sorry guys, I seem to have spawned a future Zerg player
For real, even after watching hours of news about the vaccine failures that overtook the world. I still saw this video and put it on the wait list. Remember folks if you're truly not vaccine hesitant, you should be on the 10th booster
That's a dirty thumbnail 😠 7:48: 8 Probes, 2 Zealots, and a Cannon, for free? Yeah, I'd say that's "decent" ;p 8:12: And Creator immediately demonstrated the advantage of sending the Locusts in multiple groups, by Storm hitting only half. 9:10: Sick Nova and Storm on the army, even while dealing with all those Locusts. 10:00: Excellent surround by Dark. That was 50 supply lost by Creator, vs about 30 from Dark (and that was Roaches). Would be great if we got a look at Resources lost each fight. 21:10: Oof. Now the reverse. 30 lost by Creator, 60 by Dark. Dunno why he went in before the Lurks were there. 22:12: These Stalkers are begging for death but the Lurkers won't give to them. 29:30: That hurts. 33:00: What a beautiful clusterfuck! xD Pretty equal too. 33:30: Excellent Ling flank by Dark. Waited for the Blink and had the Lings immediately ready to pounce. 36:55: That fight was better for Dark than I expected, but just too much damage from Zealots in the mineral lines.
The last two games remind me of when serral first started winning major tournaments. Everyone would just cut so many corners against him Becuase he was known to really favour macro and not really do any early aggression or pushes.
A Roach, an Ultralisk, and a Viper walk into a bar. The bartender asks, "What can I get you?" The Roach says, "Something to quench my thirst, I've been crawling all day." The Ultralisk says, "Make mine a double, it's been a heavy day." The Viper just hisses, "I'll take whatever you're serving... as long as I can drag it back to my lair."
Love hearing about your life and hobbies, Lowko! You have much more to offer than your amazing SC cast (which is great)! You should expand your ‘portfolio’..
Listening to Lowko talk about the evolution of pro gamers' abilities and how strategies have changed over the years makes me imagine an RTS parody of that Rick Astley song. "We're no strangers to cheese. You know the rules, and so do I....".
Hope your ear operation goes well. That's never fun to deal with. Love your casts, they are my favorite ones, you always give such good analysis of the match and meta.
Just returned to watch some Lowko after 2-3 years. Still love it. However very amusing how he still uses the same phrases and sentences after all this time
Cut SW in half and launch them, by the time the first wave dies the second one is up. After launching the first wave you just have to recast with little micro. Aim them at tanks and disruptors.
Rogue is the GOAT? Lol. He's very good, but against Serral, he could only cheese. He did defeat Serral in a tournament with cheese. And then Serral went beastmode in IEM (I think 2022?) Rogue and Dark could only cheese Serral, and Serral was very prepared. If I'm not mistaken only Reynor was able to take off games from Serral that tournament. Maybe Maru too?
So, a Roach, a Viper and an Ultraliks walk into a bar... Only the Roach tunnels through beneath it, the Viper flies over it, and the Ultra crashes right through.
Just listen tu your comments about rogue and dark. I will cry as a baby when dark leaves. He is, no discussion, the funniest player to watch. There are better than him, and you can see closer to perfection in other players. But putting one video from Dark, guarantees FUN.
Talking about Dark's style, He plays the game with the mentality of an artist; You need to know the rules first so you know how to break them. It's like.... the difference between someone who's never learned anatomy vs someone who's trained. Both may draw disproportionate characters, but while one may try to explain their inconsistencies away as "Their Style," the other would actually consistently display style from various angles, poses, compositions. Cant do the latter and make it work without knowing how to do it the right way first. IMO, Thats Dark and how he plays.
As a D1 NA zerg, i see a toss, its either a forge first into any air rush with DTs if it is deflected, or a adept/zealot/blink stalker 2 base push. Expanding to 3 bases almost always feels like a moot point.
“I know people don’t like when I talk too much about unrelated topics in the early game, but frankly early games are all the same” Meanwhile, on screen, dark is going for swarm host nydus rush and we’re 6 minutes into the game. Maybe just restart the cast at that point? lol
Hey that's me you're talking about in the intro talking about cheeses lol haha. I'm "someone" yay lmao. Thank you. I've had an awful last 3 days of finding out I basically got cheated on. And that vague shotout actually put the first smile on my face in days. Keep being amazing.
A roach, a viper and an ultralisk wak into a bar. The roach starts eating the bartender, and shares it with the ultralisk. "I love self serving bars" says the viper, as it abducts the other bartender.
What I don't get is, why didn't Dark make any air units? Oracles and Prisms were zipping around the map the whole of the latter 2 games, and the only anti-air Dark had was Queens. Just throwing out a couple Mutas or Corruptors would have deterred them, surely?
Wait "Do you want to storm you units though?", storm deal friendly damage? I don't play SC2 but I've been watching Lowko since 2017 and I never knew this lol
Mmm, I quite like Creator's style. The sentry + oracle usage in the mid-game. Not really heavy on storm. And continuing to fight even after expensive units are all gone.
I highly doubt that new players are significantly better than old players. Its just that the game is very different. For instance, a fast expansion today, you just wait a couple of seconds, you build your expansion, build a couple of drones maybe, or you just can wait a bit for the pool/rax/gate. You are not really exposed to anything funky, at worst, you are like 15-20 seconds behind. back then, you started with 6 workers. A fast expansion had to be done at 13 or so, then the pool/rax (protoss did FFE at the same supply) at 13 too. So, you had to make 7 workers first to build the expansion, and another one for the combat unit building. Thats a lot of time. So, any cheese would put you over a minute or more behind. 2-3 enemy units would be knocking on your door and your pool was not even finished. Not even a queen for defense, as they required (not sure if still do) the pool to start building. so, 6 pool vs a ffe was hard to tackle, or 6 rax vs a 13 expo, specially if it came with a bunker rush, hard to tackle. It was not unbeatable, but it was harder because you were way behind in unit production. Its a different game, but the macro, the micro, it was there back in WOL.
Honestly, I don’t play the game anymore. As such I have forgotten much of the numbers. I would greatly appreciate it if you would in the opening minutes choose a unit and give the stats a little bit. For example, point out the stalker and give the numbers for health, shields, and damage. Plus how much it goes up with the upgrades. I enjoy your videos immensely and I would greatly appreciate it if you could just highlight a unit here and there. I leave it to your discretion. Thanks!
Wouldn't the best strategy against Locust be to ignore them and just rush the zerg base? I don't play the game so I don't really know if this would work but in my mind if the zerg uses the Locust to harass the enemy base then they would not be able to defend their base, and if the zerg uses them for base defense then they cannot harass the enemy base either right? And since they cost so much supply then the zerg would not have an army big enough to fight a maxed out army right?
Speaking of cheese, did anyone have the absolute priviledge/traumatic experience of playing Armies of Exigo right around the time SC2 came out? It was a starcraft type game that was basically a cheese build training simulator. The game encouraged players to try and break the game because the AI in single player was basically psychic and knew exactly what you were going to do. So when players actually faced eachother it was a race to see who could do the fastest and most scummy build possible. I miss that game. But I know why it had to die...
The tierlist goes a bit like this, There are high level starcraft 2 matches near the top, a fair bit below that you'll find your typical professional SC2 match and somewhere in between those you'll find the armchair experts who don't play the game and just dedicate ourselves to watch other people play.
I was trying to show my friend your classic opener as an example of stylish catchy introductions. Nope, every video i tried was not the classic lowko... 😢
"Hello everyone, Lowko here." Hmm. Sounds oddly familiar. I wonder who he could be? Definitely not someone who booed Lowko in a ranked roulette over in Harstem's channel; nor he saved Lowko and called Lowko's Zerg "Clean" and "I couldn't do better" when Protoss was Imba; nor he won 150k from a tournament when Lowko only casts him losing games to opponents like Serral, Clem, Maru, Dark, Solar, Byun, Maxpax, Cure, Oliveira etc. I wonder who he could be. I could definitely recognize his voice through his $15 microphone, his glasses through his $5 webcam, and most importantly, and his freaking mechanical keyboard with consistent 600apm. But, unfortunately, when I clicked this video, I lost all my memories to the first few seconds of the video. What? There is no way that Lowko was secretly him. He was so innocent. How did I not recognize that he was playing the dumb character all along? He is not only a great SC2 player, but also such a good voice imitator, so good he can hide his weird Italian accent and simultaneously replicate the Dutch accent with Lowko's signature stops and laughs. Not only that, he is so familiar with his mouse movements, weird habits, tactical callouts, casting setup, UA-cam channel... Oh wait, nevermind.
I'd just like to point out that game 1, Dark did basically exactly what I said to do as zerg. Nydus worms and double envelopment/flank engages to prevent your opponent perma-kiting you out and abusing stim or storms. Beautiful game.
I'm watching this with my daughter and she just said "Dad, wouldn't it be cool if the locusts blew up and did damage when they died..." Sorry guys, I seem to have spawned a future Zerg player
Scarlet 2?
Just never let her get into Game development.
Oooooh, swarm banelings?
This girl is onto something
it's about time zerg gets scourges in sc2. did you know that zerg has 1 less unit compared to toss and terrans?
Dehaka's creeper hosts lol
Why do I end up watching Lowko more than playing actual Starcraft?
Because its much easier
@@bobspruce1196 I feel attacked
Same .... I think for every hour I actually play StarCraft, I watch 10 hours of lowko these days lol
I watch because 1v1 is stressful. I only play Co-op, but watch everything.
Because Lowko and his buttery voice make this enjoyable AND relaxing.
I see swarm hosts, I watch
🤝
ITS THE LAW
For real, even after watching hours of news about the vaccine failures that overtook the world. I still saw this video and put it on the wait list.
Remember folks if you're truly not vaccine hesitant, you should be on the 10th booster
Was gonna comment this 😭
You are not alone mr.
I think we need more Lowko ear updates, it's impact on the meta could be greater then the new balance patch.
We need rogue and innovation back

@4:13 YOU KNOW THE RULES, AND SO, DO IIII!
Y’know when you should listen to the players when they talk about balance? When they say their own stuff is OP.
That's a dirty thumbnail 😠
7:48: 8 Probes, 2 Zealots, and a Cannon, for free? Yeah, I'd say that's "decent" ;p
8:12: And Creator immediately demonstrated the advantage of sending the Locusts in multiple groups, by Storm hitting only half.
9:10: Sick Nova and Storm on the army, even while dealing with all those Locusts.

I heard @LowkoTV mention "rules" for quite awhile around 5:00 and I thought he was gonna make an "Astley" reference.
Love to see more swarm host games
A lot of my favorite creators are getting into miniatures and i am so here for it❤
As a very low skilled SC2 player in Silver League I can tell you I deal with a lot of cheesy openings.
Wait until you find out what goes on in high gold/low platinum.
painting and playing Warhammer is a major contributor for me to stop spending so much time on my computer too!
The last two games remind me of when serral first started winning major tournaments. Everyone would just cut so many corners against him Becuase he was known to really favour macro and not really do any early aggression or pushes.
Always be you, Lowko. Love your casts.

The cannon rush is alive and well in Plat! I literally faces 5 cannon rushes in a row last night (then two proxy hatcheries in a row lol)
An excellent cast
Hope your ear operation goes well. That's never fun to deal with. Love your casts, they are my favorite ones, you always give such good analysis of the match and meta.
we just love a bit of Swarmhosts ourself :)
Just returned to watch some Lowko after 2-3 years. Still love it. However very amusing how he still uses the same phrases and sentences after all this time
Listening to Simon talk about his life is uncalled for and feels a bit therapeutic at the same time.
...and after throwing the rules into the fire, he snorted the ashes.
After watched some modded campaigns... Wouldn't it be cool if you can upgrade Swarm Host into Swarm Lurker? xD
Cut SW in half and launch them, by the time the first wave dies the second one is up. After launching the first wave you just have to recast with little micro. Aim them at tanks and disruptors.
Dark will go to mandatory military service while playing starcraft
3:03 best hope florencio dosent hear that 😂
painting miniatures is boss as hell!
good control of collosus
Lowko, Harstem also said that PvZ is Protoss favored. Just minus Serral from the conversation.
Rogue is the GOAT? Lol. He's very good, but against Serral, he could only cheese. He did defeat Serral in a tournament with cheese. And then Serral went beastmode in IEM (I think 2022?) The fabled Swarmbruno.
My everyday dose. lowko day ❤️

Wait "Do you want to storm you units though?", storm deal friendly damage? I don't play SC2 but I've been watching Lowko since 2017 and I never knew this lol
Yes it does!
insane how starcraft 2 is a 14 year old game and yet still has a live community, not that im complaining oc
StarCraft itself has been around for almost 30 years. It’s wild.
Mmm, I quite like Creator's style. The sentry + oracle usage in the mid-game. Not really heavy on storm. And continuing to fight even after expensive units are all gone.

I miss that game. But I know why it had to die...
Wow this was one of the best games in a while. I expected Dark to win the third game....wow
Keep painting bro, warhammer figurines can be nerdy but don't care because that game is fun and painting is also fun

Dark... lost?
So even gods can bleed after all.
we love you Lowko! I like watching you BECAUSE you are willing to talk about more than just the match. keeping do that please!! ❤
Nice game

buff up cannon rush, Has be happy.
Well, you either die as a Protoss, or live long enough to become a Zerg player yourself.
Ooh great! Fellow Age of sigmar enjoyer :)

Bro really over here telling us that he’s “doing nothing” while painting a Warhammer army. Bro I’ll show you what MY doing nothing looks like.
That intro was jarring
Yo Loko, you still online after posting videos?
down to 5 days a week? slacker!
Bring cannon rushes back
we alredy do have to deal with cr over and over again.
My name are Jamy
I'd just like to point out that game 1, Dark did basically exactly what I said to do as zerg. Nydus worms and double envelopment/flank engages to prevent your opponent perma-kiting you out and abusing stim or storms. Beautiful game.
Maybe if serral didnt exist, protoss might be considered better in late game...
