I am enjoying this build very much. One suggestion regarding the railroad track roadbed. To enable sharper curves, the roadbed is made to be split down the middle and the tapered sides are then faced outward. Lay either the entire inside or outside section of the bed first and then the other section, butting up the smoth sides and staggering the joints as you go. Hope this helps!
@@brian102256 It does! Thanks, I've never been able to figure that track-bed out!! I just cut v's into it and bend it around the curve. Never been too successful, so thanks!!
@@obsessedwith_christmas Thank you, Obsessed!! Although as far as the cobblestone streets are concerned, I confess I cheated. I stapled down paper printed like cobblestone. It would take me all year to paint roadways. I only do bridges, cliffs and stone walls by painting them. 🎄❤️
Wow, thank you! Just an old woman using her imagination, and trying to keep up physically and mentally. My mother used to say, "Oh child, you have your head in the clouds!" So glad I was blessed with this imagination... 😏 😜
The build is coming along nicely, and we're looking forward to seeing your Christmas scene develop. We will soon be creating this year's Christmas scene ready for my grandson to film for his Dylington Model Railway channel. Hopefully, this year, he'll be including stop-motion animation on the video, so hopefully, it will be an improvement on last year's video, which actually looked quite good... Cheers James and Dylan 🙂👍
Hello James and Dylan, have had a bit of a delay, but I'm back at it now. Had to recover from some minor surgery. Hope to get things all completed by end of the week. Only 36 days till Christmas!! This time of year seems to fly by. I'm going to check your videos out! Cheers, Thea 🎄🏘️ 🚂
@TheasChristmasVillages Hi Thea, I hope you enjoy our videos. We have just built seven Christmas market stalls ready for this year's Christmas scene. Which we will be starting to create very soon. So, hopefully, there'll be a video in time for Christmas. We hope you're well and get back on track soon...best wishes James and Dylan 😁👍
What made you decide to plaster the arches in the aqueduct? I built something similar but didn’t think to do that step. Your tips and creativity have helped this novice out so much! Thank you!
@@jenniferschnelker7646 Hi Jennifer, I plastered the arches because they were very bumpy and uneven. Using a hot knife is tricky on such precise cutting work. If I hadn't plastered them, they'd look worse after painting. This way I could smooth the arches out and they would look better in the long run. Hope that helps!
wonderful work................do you use heavier paper to print out the cobblestone? It looks like it! Do you start fresh each year? or save some things from year to year?
@@belovedbytheKing Hello fellow believer!! Yes I use card stock or photo paper if I have it. And yes, I start fresh every year. The carved mountains are hard to store without attracting rodents, and I live in an apartment with a smallish storage locker. As it is, the space is taken up with totes and more totes. God bless!

Very nice! I love the lake. I also individually paint cobblestone, but then I get carried away and paint each one!

Hi Thea, another great artistic performance. You make it look so easy. Truly fascinating to watch the master work their masterpiece. Love love it. ❤🇮🇪

Wow, burning the invidual stones into the viaduct walls was quite a task. The end result is amazing.
Is it EPS or XPS that you're using?
