Step by step instructions and tips on how to build your Christmas village.
Musical Tour of the 2024 Christmas Village
Come tour the 2024 Christmas Village! Check out all the vignettes and corners and every inch of this gorgeous snowy village. The culmination of six weeks of blood, sweat, and tears. Well maybe no blood or tears, but certainly some sweating was done! Probably one of the nicest displays I've ever done, but so glad to be finished. Six to eight weeks from now it will all be coming down again. Merry Christmas everyone!!

Christmas Village 2024 - Week Six
Переглядів 79216 годин тому
Last How-to Video for 2024. In this video I add trees, figurines, snow and do some other last minute checks, such as the train. Still waiting for cords/lights to be delivered so I can finish off the last corner. I used expanding insulation foam for the snowbanks. It was awfully messy, not recommended, although I love how it looks. Next up with Musical Tour of my Christmas Village!

Fantastic, it's looking fantastic, beautifully done. We'd better get back to our Christmas scene on our model railway... Cheers James 🙂👍
You don't have a lot of time left, only 4 weeks! LOL... Cheers! 🌟 ❄️ 🎄 🎁
@TheasChristmasVillages I know, but it's not as big as your fabulous display, I've just finished building the Christmas market stalls. Hopefully, we'll get the scene complete and a video filmed in time 🙂👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY I'll be waiting... and watching! 😉
@TheasChristmasVillages I hope you like it when you see it, we will be posting a few progress photos on our community page next week 🙂👍
I love it...
Thank you @mechaga!
Another year..another beautiful village Thea. I especially love your mountains and all the cobblestone work. And the train layout...sooo good. Truly magnificent. Merry Christmas and wishing you a bright and happy new year❤❤❤❤
@@debbikelley2357 Thank you so much, Debbi! Everything certainly came together for me this year, no issues at all, except for my age of course. But then even that in the end did not really hold me back, so 2024 was successful! Thank the Lord! 😛 Wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and happy 2025! 🎄🌟🚂
Et bonne musique en plus !!
@@zeloy64 Merci, j'adore la musique pour piano. c'est tellement joyeux, non ?

What a beautiful village. Love all the little details you have added in on top of all the work carving cobblestones, rock walls, etc. Great Job!

@@lindaburnham5385 Thank you, Linda! That's the idea, to inspire other budding villagers. If this gimpy old lady can do it, so can they, ☺️
I watched it a couple of times. So much to see. You've really outdid yourself. Love the snow drifts around the tracks. The pond turned out great. I loved the garland on the tunnels. Guess I should say I loved it all. I can't pick out a favorite. They're all great.

What scale is the train
@@gohanthewise3222 Hello Gohan, the size f the train: Approx. size: ( H x W x D ) 3.66 x 44.49 x 26.18 inches 9.3 x 113 x 66.5 cm. I believe it is an "S" scale. 1/64. Hope that helps.
Adding the trees has always been my favourite part of building a village. It really makes everything come alive. Love how it all turned out. 😍👌
It does doesn't it!! I have two totes full of trees, all kinds. Need badly to trash all the old and misshapen ones. But it sure makes the atmosphere homey and cozy! 🎄🌟
Wow, your 13 year old grandson printed that dock, that's amazing. And so nice that he is doing this for his grandmother, that makes it extra special.
I think so too!! I'm so proud of him.
I wish you a good and speedy recovery from your surgery.
Thank you, doing well!
Getting rid of the electrical cords is the part I like the least but you did a great job.
Same here, you need to be very agile. I am 74 and arthritic, but try to keep very active so that I am not limited. Every year I build this is the biggest challenge! Thanks for your appreciation!! Groetjes uit Canada
Wow, burning the invidual stones into the viaduct walls was quite a task. The end result is amazing. Is it EPS or XPS that you're using?
It is EPS insulation. A little less dense than XPS.
@@TheasChristmasVillages Thank you for getting back to me. Good to hear that is it EPS, that I can find in my country (the Netherlands) XPS I've given up on 😁 I had no idea you could do that to EPS foam, I'm going to give that a try.
@@wolfsangeleyes I was born on the Netherlands, 74 years ago! Been in Canada 73 years.... still love to visit now and then. 🇳🇱🇨🇦
@@TheasChristmasVillages Oh wow, that explains the name Thea. My second name is Dorothea, Thea for short. I hope you get to visit Nederland again some time soon and I would love to visit Canada one day. Groetjes uit Nederland
@@wolfsangeleyes Hello Dorothea, from Theodora! Ik wens je een prachtige dag! Groetjes van Canada!
The river bridge turned out great.
Cool hey? I like it too.
Love your excitement when the train was running perfectly. I was chearing with you 🤗👌
Haha I was a little over the top, but after last year's disasters, I was thrilled it was working!
Wow, those mountains were a lot of work but so worth it.
Wolfie, you should see them in the dark, at night. They glow! Look really 3D!
@@TheasChristmasVillages That sound beautiful. 😍
Love the starry sky/background 😍
Turned out nice. Now that the new batteries are a little less charged, the lights are even better! 🎄
You always amaze me Thea. And you can tell how much you love creating. Wish you were near to mentor me. Lol. Last year was my first village. Just left it up all year long 😮 yep I said that. Hated to tear it down. Just put a room divider up and now it’s ready for this year. I will tear it down after Christmas this time though as I want my sunroom back. I wish I had more space to do a larger layout like you. You were the one who taught me how to make my mountains. They weren’t as good as yours, but I was happy. Thanks for what you do. I love your process.❤❤❤Happy Holidays gurlie gurl.
@@sherrisurles1155 Aw Sherri, you are so sweet. I am thrilled that I could help inspire you. Good for you for leaving the village up. I may have the space to build, but I need the space for the rest of the year , so it has to come down. I'm actually quite happy to see it gone after 6 weeks! Wishing you many blessings through the Christmas season into the new year. Cheers! 🎄🚂🧑🏻🎄
I lot of work but so beautiful! Can’t wait to see it done!

Your village is beautiful! I have the same exact train and it slows down in areas. New batteries, flat track. After a few hours of troubleshooting, I finally gave up on it🤣
@@heatherramirez5903 One of my subscribers suggested wiping the track down with pure white vinegar. It worked!!!! 🤩

@@mechaga oh!!! Thank you!
Once again, you did a marvelous job with this village.
@@jimmyrants4342 Thank you Jimmy. Halfway through I wanted to pack it in, I get that every year, but persistence pays off in the end!
Love the new name!
@@sharonfox5643 why thank you. I typically don't like change much, I get comfortable with the old. But I'm hoping it's a good change.
I had a lot of trouble with my trains this year. They wouldn't stay connected. I took some electrical tape and connected the railroad ties together, stretched it tight. It worked but doesn't look great. You've done an amazing job, as always, on your village. I'm way behind.
@@sharonfox5643 Hello Sharon, I always had trouble with the train staying together too until I googled how to keep the cars connected. The elastic rubber band trick works a treat but it's fiddly and tricky. Once the elastic was on, I added a tiny drop of hot glue on the top of the connection, and now the problem seems to be solved. Stay with it my dear, you'll get there!! And you'll be happy you stuck it out. It's always worth it. 🎄🚂🧑🏻🎄🤗
You definitely outdid yourself this year it is beautiful you love the details.
Thanks Kathy! The next video will examine all the nooks and crannies, fun stuff.
These are all awesome videos but I worry about your mask choice. I would suggest an actual respirator or at least run a fan to blow the fumes away from you. Stay safe!
Thank you Paul, I wasn't aware the mask I was using was not sufficiently safe. I will have to remedy that! 👍
Looks great Thea. You changed it up alot from last year. Always look forward to your videos. Looks like you're feeling better❤
Feeling much, much better, thanks!! Glad you enjoy my village. 🫶
