  • In this video we will go thru how to replace a tethered fuel cap on a gasoline engined GM vehicle within the model year range of the video title. The fuel cap on the vehicle in this video has stopped ratcheting, or clicking, due to an internal failure and so needs to be replaced to insure a correct seal.
The vehicle illustrated is a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco with the RPO LUJ/LUV style GM Ecotec 1.4L engine. The parts and procedures shown are applicable to the Chevy Cruze, Chevy Cruze Limited, Chevy Sonic, Chevy Spark, Chevy Trax, Buick Cascada, Buick Verano, or Buick Encore vehicles in the model year range of the video title with either the 1.2L, 1.4L, 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, or 2.4L gasoline engines.

I never know how much to turn the cap, it makes cracking noises, click click click click. It feels like I'm breaking it.😮

GM Tech2 and GM MDI, both by Bosch ETAS. I prefer to use the GM dealership grade tools.
